I'm writing through my tears. First things first, I love you guys. You became my family during the darkest, scariest times of my life and knew me better than those I walked amongst in the real world. You shared my heartaches, my triumphs, my joy, my sorrow, my crazy. We share a bond that can never be broken, even when we part ways. This is the worst possible way to get us all back together. Now...

*While I'm about to use past tense, I want to say I'm still trying my darndest to keep hope alive that she's out there okay somewhere. Regardless, I pray for closure for her loved ones.*

Naya was so important to us during some very formative years of our lives. She wasn't perfect, she was flawed, but she was a human being, a great talent, a beautiful mother, a daughter, a sister, a friend, and she was ours. She fought for representation for us at a time we needed it, at a time it wasn't so popular. She helped a lot of girls love themselves in a world they were taught hated them. We will forever be grateful to her, and she will forever hold a special place in our hearts.

I am here to talk to whoever may need it. Your feelings are more than valid right now. Again, we are a family.

For those of you who have followed me from the beginning, you know that I joined tumblr years ago for my love of brittana. Their storyline- season 2, specifically- aired while I was struggling with accepting my own sexuality. Watching Santana’s struggle on screen made me feel less alone in a way that nothing else could. I never met Naya, but lord knows I was the biggest Naya stan, and I was truly grateful for not only her portrayal of Santana but also for her vocal support of the brittana storyline and all of the brittana fans. I was heartbroken to wake up to the devastating news about her presumed drowning today. Although the outlook is grim, I pray for the best, and I hope Naya’s family and friends can find strength and solace in this difficult time.
