Sometimes I read a fic and am plagued with visions so strong that they need to be drawn or I will never know peace, which was the case with On Poisoning a Cherry by positivejam on AO3 😩 For as much as I love sweet, they-make-each-other-better bloodweave oh baby do I also love when these two buttheads feed off of each other in a manipulation tango where they both think they're the clever one, and this fic is just 👨‍🍳👌 scrumptious. And as someone who struggles to visualize literally anything, this was vivid ogugh it's so beautifully written-

Super excited to share this! I went back to my roots and wrote some morally questionable Bloodweave smut. Please enjoy a little intoxicated dubcon and mortal plane virgin Gale.

Summary: It feels a little ritualistic as Astarion taps fresh grounds into the smooth wooden pipe for Gale. For he’s never lit a candle and prayed proper, you see, but he thinks the crackle and cherry glow of a pipe under Gale’s fluttering eyes is as good an altar as any. And as he breathes in, Astarion mirrors him. The smell would be overpowering were it not for the wafting sweet panic in Gale’s blood as he chokes himself out so… willingly. Or: Astarion can’t get high, but that insufferable wizard can. And watching can be just as fun.

Also on a personal note my multishipper heart is happy to see a little variety on my last ten fics. Though they do all mostly involve bullying the wizard: it's DISVERSIFIED bullying.

praise kink / degradation? 👀

Praise Kink - 7/10 I love the idea of someone HAVING this is being really embarrassed about it. But writing pure praise might be a bit tough for me, I like being mean.

Degradation - 9/10 Not much to explain here, you know I love being a bitch to Gale characters.

BUT TOGETHER?? 10/10. I think when I write D/s stuff the Doms are also going be a little teasing if not downright mean. I think praise is really fun to write if it's backhanded praise ("oh good boy i'm surprised you could even manage that" kind of deal) so yes yes, 10/10.

Plus I tend to latch on to characters that need to be taken down a peg or two so flavoring the degradation to what is insufferable about them is mwah.
