No, your oc isn't too cringe or a Mary sue. Yes, it's completely fine that it looks similar to your other ocs. Yes it's completely fine that it looks similar to a Canon character design. No it's not uncreative. No the design isn't shitty. No the backstory doesn't have to make perfect sense or be all figured out. Yes it can be self indulgent or unrealistic or overly sappy. No you don't draw your favorite character too much. Yes you can flip flop between developing whatever characters you want. No you don't have to keep the parts of your character that you don't like or that make you uncomfortable just for the sake of consistency, realism or whatever else

Originally intended to be more mucking about with the ink brushes, but somewhere along the way I got kinda "meh" about doing that route, so just threw some light pencil-brush shading on and some flats.

Probably going to draw more Tannivh (ie my Tav) as we get closer to BG3 release, since my brain will be going brrrrr.

Also, the braids are a brush. Vegalia's braid brushes are a godsend for this guy.

its so important to me that artists remember they can fuck around. you never have to use tools as intended. you can always skip steps. you dont have to be organized. you dont have to be neat. you can put as little effort as you want into the parts of the process you dont find fun. maybe if youre making products you cant do these things but on your own time you can do literally actually whatever the hell. it doesnt matter how long you spend on it youve made art and its complete when you decide to quit. yee haw

So I put way too much thought into his tattoo so I’ll just casually info dump that on you.

All I did was make some silhouettes and realized he could get his ship. Then I did a whale. Then I was like. Oh he’s shooting a whale, yeah. Basically it’s depicting why his ship got cracked open. Idk. I love throwing in hypotheticals.
