Hello I am yet again obsessing over Enjou from Genshin Impact.
I BLAME HOYOVERSE FOR THIS, THEY’RE THE ONES WHO REINTRODUCED HIM TO THE GAME IN NATLAN.
Idc if he is notorious for betraying others, I love him.

Enthalassophobia AU Fun Interactions Pt. 2:
“The Good People” (Z-96 “Mask of Sadness” and Z-779 “p.AI.nter”), Dupe, and Seek: All “Good People” doors are replaced with Dupe, whose solid physical body was captured after a couple of failed attempts with its specter-like duplicates. After breaching containment, Dupe (and any possible duplicates) settled in dead-end rooms (or simply rooms where Z-96 would usually hunker down in) across the Blacksite, though unable to alter the door numbers on its own. Instead, p.AI.nter’s the one helping it out as it normally does with Z-96.
What happened to Z-96 for p.AI.nter to have to work with Dupe? The first dialogue option from p.AI.nter when you fall for the false doors is:
“That… black goo… took over everything.”
What was secured from the Seek aggregate by Urbanshade can be regarded as only a small sample: It continues to roam the Hotel and Mines, while the humanoid part of it (along with a few of its eyes) was brought into the Hadal Blacksite and, after a brief debate over whether it was more similar to Pandemonium, Mask of Sadness or Valcula Void Mass, was contained like Pandemonium. Yet, by the time the expendable protocol begins, the Seek aggregate has already grown exponentially and is visible in many parts of the Blacksite. This mass, of course, didn’t come from nowhere.
p.AI.nter still did its best to try and lure Z-96 away from corruption.
“Seekerlights” and the Crucifix: With the unlucky expendable incident allowing* Seek to corrupt yet another life form, part of it escapes the Blacksite using the reanimated Searchlight —now dubbed “Seekerlight”— to where the External Repellent System is found, and breaks into a whole community of Searchlights (which 1 assume can gather peacefully since three of them hunt in one spot at the end of the game), making it so that the final cable repair section is entirely under the gaze of up to three Seekerlights.
However, this does give the players who’ve found a crucifix a small advantage: Guiding Light’s (GL) intervention couldn’t stop the Searchlight itself, but it can sabotage Seek and thus the Seekerlight. If a player is about to be impaled, holding up the crucifix will have GL’s chains pushing the goo-covered harpoon back into the Seekerlight’s orifice, while also covering its lights for a couple seconds to allow the player to hide or escape. The crucifix is spent after this, as usual.
*To be fair, Seek could’ve corrupted the Searchlight with or without the expendable bait. However, since the latter has been entirely off the ground (and away from any wall) the whole time and the former simply never appeared under its light, Seek found far easier prey before ever encountering the Searchlight.
((Mahnnn Seek is so OP mahn dhdhdhdh))
Thanks for reading!

Enthalassophobia AU Fun Interactions:
Rush and Angler: Rush and Angler hunt for very different reasons. In my headcanon, Rush is an entirely anomalous spirit-entity that simply kills for the thrill, through a more metaphysical method; meanwhile, Angler is semi-biological semi-anomalous and actually kills prey to “feed on the neuron signals through contact” so to speak, rendering the neurons incapable of depolarizing/repolarizing anymore and ending neurotransmitter release, effectively ending all communication between neurons and killing the victim ((this is very brief research ahah sorry /gen)). Still, they both want to get the first kill in, and truly they don’t possess enough intelligence to cooperate lol.
In the event that both a regular Rush and a front Angler spawn (or a regular Angler and front Rush, since we learned that’s possible from Floor 2), players can observe/interact with mysterious black soot on the spot where the two met. If they survived both of monsters, of course.
((In the more self-indulgent version of this, where all entities are more humanized: since neurons can still fire after death, Angler can feed from what Rush leaves behind. At least one of them has enough intelligence to domesticate the other, who’s about as smart as a cat.))
Tumblr media
((joke drawing HDSNBS))
Screeches and Squiddles: Both manage to coexist in dark rooms. In my headcanon, Screeches are biological combined with something more demonic, and act like zombies. Squiddles are semi-biological semi-anomalous (since they can teleport), not entirely a wild animal like Vultus Limunaria but also have multiple members of their species.
Squiddles regularly scare Screeches off with their own proximity defense mechanism: the faces they generate are enough to discourage Screeches like someone’s looking at them. So, as mentioned before, they both vibe in different corners of the dark rooms.
The real disadvantage is for the player, who can neither turn on the light (Squiddles will be aggravated) nor keep it off in peace (Screeches attack easily in the dark.) Not the biggest challenge —personally 1 have completed Lightless and can detect Screeches quickly— but definitely annoying considering how the Mines are with Screech.
Speaking of…
Mines: This area is still being explored by Urbanshade ((can’t get past door 150 huh LMAO)), as noted in the first Hotel document 1 made. Even after entities are discovered, there’s a chance they just won’t be sent to the Hadal Blacksite if other sites have more suitable containment procedures in place. Still, Giggles and Grumbles would certainly be fun additions to the cast.
The crucifix: 1’ve seen this item on my successful Lockerless run and 1 think it still brought m3 luck lol. If this AU was actually in the game, the spawn frequency of the crucifix in heavy containment would be increased, and it would have Guiding Light’s blue glow around it. The player can actually pick it up and use it against the Doors entities!

((my edit))
That’s all for now. Thanks for reading!

Counterpoint to the “Seek cannot canonically be a neko because it will turn the cat ears and tail into black goop” statement: On Door 200 we can clearly see that both wood (pallets, crates) and metal (1’m thinking specifically cast iron pipes) can float on the black goop. Not to mention, at the very beginning of the Mines chase cutscene, the pipes can withstand holding the Seek aggregate in them.
So, if we get a blacksmith to craft cat ears out of iron…

Enthalassophobia AU Idea:
Spoilersss but 1 want the grand event of Enthalassophobia to be the Seek aggregate meeting the Searchlight in the first Searchlight section!!
TLDR: Seek wins.
CW: Descriptions of bodily harm, both human and nonhuman
This happens through a particularly unlucky expendable who first encounters the Seek chase in the corridors of the Hadal Blacksite. Guiding Light was never captured; instead, GL followed the monsters along with Mischievous Light; thus, the expendable is guided through the correct doors, trusting the blue light with no other option when some of the rooms are too dark or too covered in goop to find any other escape.
The chase just doesn’t end. They reach the room opening to submerged pipes, and only then does the expendable manage to ‘dodge’ Seek by leaping over the railing into the water, swimming down without a single glance back, ignoring the prickling of watchful eyes in the back of their head. Their diving mask’s fogging up but still they push forward with their straining heart.
Soon after leaving the pipes, they make their way over to the generators needing repair as the booming voice in the speakers commands them to. The jolts from their mistakes are almost grounding — for the first two, at least.
On the closed balcony, they start feeling light on their feet. The grand storage unit was equipped with gravity-altering systems to assist with the movement of heavy containers; now, with that gone haywire, a Searchlight has managed to break in and is effortlessly hovering above, looking for prey.
Despite the challenge of commanding their own body, they push forward. Squeezing under forklifts and between crates —it aches—, gaze always turned up in tears —look down, so bright, so bright—, finally they bring back power to enough generators to get out.
The exit’s horns are like a guardian angel’s call. They’re only around 50 studs away.
The Searchlight is only 50 studs away.
They can make it, they’re so close to salvation, they can make it.
…
They can’t make it, the spotlight is on them, the Searchlight whines at its victory, they can’t make it.
At this point, they’re too gone to even process the calcium spear sticking out of their chest, innards stuck on the barbs of it and pulled up.
Their own silence is filled with an inhuman scream. In an instant, darkness shoots forward to grab ahold of their arms. Burning hands in hand, except this one was massive, formed of black goop. The same humanoid that chased them before, stood there with its eye —eyes, all off them— pinned on them.
The funnier description to help cope would be a game of tug-of-war between these two monsters, the expendable as their rope. Except this rope hears the flesh of their own waist cracking and snapping off, and gets out one last cry before Seek ends the chase —their agony— and claims its prey.
Now, as the Searchlight’s determination pulls harder on the infected corpse, the part of Seek confronting it above ground is dislodged and flown up in seconds. Devoured, the goop travels between shredding teeth, through throats and organs…
The floating beast shrieks. Its fins spasming, no longer swimming through the air, it sinks — falls, destroying half the room. In the rising dust, it’s motionless.
Seek does not kill. Seek expands.
Black tendrils rise from the giant’s openings, coating it with the same plague eating away at this Blacksite. The diminished orange light returns in full force; now each source is surrounded by dark eyelids and eclipsed partially by a pupil in the center.
A new weapon for the Seek aggregate.
Sidenote: Figure would get absolutely eaten by the Searchlight, like any other prey — and it does happen for now. Maybe. 1 never cared about Figure much but perhaps 1 could find a better place to insert it, because it has functionally no advantage over the giant floating creechur whose lights emit no sound (1 mean when they’re moving; even when they spot you, you gotta recognize that noise and hide, which Figure wouldn’t.)
In my opinion. These are all just my opinions/ideas!

Enthalassophobia - A Doors x Pressure Crossover AU
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Hotel
D-314 - Codename: “The Hotel”, is a floating building exhibiting anomalous properties.
Discovered on the North Atlantic Ocean off the coast of #######, U.S. after a report made by an anonymous source, the Hotel appears as a cozy, vintage-styled hotel comprised of various rooms and sections. Almost all interior spaces are made of wood, along with other amenities such as couches, beds, bookshelves, and fireplaces. A heavy storm perpetually rains on outside, shrouding the hotel in an ambience that is particularly noticeable in rooms with windows. [1]
After the initial discovery, Urbanshade teams quickly moved into the lobby of the building and tasked patrol units to secure the waters around it. No historical records or official documents belonging to the hotel requiring expungement were found, and as such, the only source of information has been manual exploration of the building, accessed through several elevators lining the lobby.
Multiple new entities, both biological and anomalous, were discovered and secured during the expeditions done. After experiments conducted in the nearest Urbanshade site, they have been transported to the Hadal Blacksite as the staff there are informed and equipped to contain entities sharing similar properties.
Further exploration has revealed an entirely new level of the building resembling abandoned mines, entered through an industrial elevator shaft found in the electrical room. Expeditions to this floor are still ongoing.

My take on the regular Angler from Pressure (1’ll have to renew this because 1 used its old art like a dumbass)
UPDATE: Z-283-Angler no longer has a lure, and the EMP producing organ is found elsewhere in its ribcage. That’s on m3 for not doing enough research.
