Week 5 (Day 10, 11, and 12)
(September 19, 20, and 22)
On Tuesday (September 19), the answered questionnaire was given back to us by Sir Ochog so we’re able to draft an initial Facilities Brochure with content in it. So, we are able to present this to Ma’am Liza and Ma’am Sam in a meeting on Wednesday (September 20).
Moreover, they discussed with us in that meeting the changes that needs to be made on the Program Brochure we submitted.
Our team them decided to finalize everything next week so that we can start to layout the other assigned task to us that is: the People’s Organization Logos.
Our meeting with Ma’am Liza was a fruitful one for me, I did not felt any uneasiness whenever we are with our bosses. 😊

Week 4 (Day 8 and 9)
(September 13 and 15)
On Wednesday, (September 13) only VJ and I could go to the office. But we still managed to check some things off our to do list such us: the submission of the final brochure layout with content, and managing to edit our initial Facilities Brochure with pictures. We also edited the questionnaire for the current occupants of the dormitories, for this is also important for the ISO Facilities Brochure.
Indeed, it’s true that although we lacked man-power that day, we were productive. 😊
Fortunately, on Wednesday (September 15), our team was complete so we’re able to accomplish more. 😊 We encoded members of the People’s Organization in one of ISO’s Campaign-Based Program sites, we conceptualized most of the logos, and finalized the content of the Facilities Brochure.
Before we went home that day, our team and some of our bosses/workmates took these selfies. :-)

Week 3 (Day 6 and 7)
(September 5 and 8, 2017)
Again, due to other academic stuff such as our thesis, we only went to the office for two days this week. On Tuesday (September 5), we finished editing the final proposed layout and we are required to produce a dummy copy of it next week. We also listed the People’s Organization that needs their respective logos, conceptualized about some and planned to finalize them after finishing the brochures (for the company and its facilities).
Finally, on Friday (September 8), we conducted a photo shoot of ISO’s facilities specifically the dormitories and the conference halls. We also edited our initial layout for the Facilities Brochure and we are planning to finish all the brochures next week.
So much work has been done by us but we’re excited to do more, still. We look forward for our days with ISO to come especially now that we already have our ISO I.D. 😊

Week 2 (Day 4 and 5)
(August 29 and 30, 2017)
This week, we were absent for a day (September 1, Friday) in the office due to some commitments to other academic stuff. But all in all, our team accomplished the final write ups for Brochure Content and we’ve edited our first proposed layout as per what Ma’am Liza advised, printed a dummy copy and submitted our 2nd proposed brochure layout.

Week 1 (Day 3)
(August 22, 23, 25, 2017)
INTERNSHIP DAY 3
Because we have our classes on Thursdays, our official Day 3 as ISO’s interns was on August 25, 2017 (Friday). I woke up earlier than usual to avoid the traffic and that technique did not fail me. For I still had time to take a morning walk along the Ateneo De Manila Campus.
Ateneo is such a beauty. Of course ISO, too. ;)
Our team wasn’t complete that day for one of us became sick. And although we are one intern short, we still managed to accomplish a lot. 😊 Our empty layout was now filled with our conceptualized design and content of the brochure.
We then printed a dummy copy of the brochure that we plan to submit next week to fully finalize.
As we however, organized our stuff and are about to go home, JolinaPH poured heavy rains so we decided to stay a little bit longer and planned about our next task that is: the People’s Organization Logos.
So much has happened this week. And for the little time we’ve stayed, we learned quite a lot. Specifically, we learned how to plan thoroughly without needing to cram the output. I am grateful for ISO’s home-y ambiance and our superiors who are easy to be comfortable to work with.

Week 1 (Day 2)
(August 22, 23, 25, 2017)
INTERNSHIP DAY 2
Today August 23, 2017 (Wednesday), I woke up early but arrived late at the office due to traffic and some issues on the train.
Because of it, I have no choice but to ride a tricycle from Katipunan to the ISO Compound. I however am glad that I arrived safe and ready to do what needs to be done at the end of the day.
My co-interns and I am finalizing our proposed brochure layout. We are dividing tasks as to who will do the editing, or who’ll be assigned for the content. My job that day was to edit a proposed layout.
These are our initial proposed layout which we presented to our superiors such as Dr. Liza L. Lim, the ISO Director.
The day went so fast that we didn’t realized it’s time to go home. So much for day 2, huh?

Week 1 (Day 1)
(August 22, 23, 25, 2017)
As a background, the Institute of Social Order (ISO) was founded through the efforts of Fr. Walter Hogan, SJ and his student Mr. Juan Tan, in focusing on the social teachings of the Catholic Church. It is an institution that advocates the rights of the poor and marginalized such as the fisher folk community.
The ISO Compound is located at the heart of the Ateneo De Manila University in Quezon City.
The ISO Compound has three main facilities: the Walter Hogan Hall where the main offices are located; the Benigno Mayo Hall where the canteen is; and the ISO Dormitories.
INTERNSHIP DAY 1
Tuesday, August 22, 2017 (Tuesday) was my first official day as an intern in the Institute of Social Order. Feeling excited and nervous at the same time, I arrived at the office at exactly 9:00 a.m. only to find out that my co-interns haven’t arrived yet. I immediately timed-in using my time card (see photo below).
At around, 9:30 a.m. my co-interns arrived one by one. We then started conceptualizing about our first task to complete that is: the ISO’s company brochure.
All in all, we were assigned to update the out-dated brochure of the Institute. We also suggested to make two copies of the brochure, one in English and one in Tagalog so that the fisher folk community can appreciate it more.
Our team is looking forward to work for ISO and to learn a lot from them. I went home tired but happy because of the excitement during my first day in the ISO. 😊
