Alphabet Legacy Challenge- part 1

The alphabet legacy challenge, but less similar to the one hundred baby challenge.

It will be divided in different parts as it's a looong challenge.

Rules:

Cheats are allowed, you do you! Each heir must have their name beginning with the letter of their generation. They all must share the same last name, which is the last name of your founder. The heirs must have only one child (in the case of twins and triplets, the oldest one will become the heir, but they all must have names beginning with the letter of the generation), unless stated otherwise.

Generation 1: the letter A

This is the founder of the legacy!

must have three of the following traits:

active, art lover, ambitious, adventurous, animal enthusiast

likes:

acting, alternative and americana music.

goals:

Reach level 10 of the astronaut career, the actor career, or the athlete career.

complete any of these aspirations:

archeology scholar, academic, angling ace

master the acting and archeology skills.

Generation 2: the letter B

must have the bookworm and bro traits

likes:

backyard, baroque, and blues music. basics and bohos styles. black, brown, and blue colours

goals:

reach top of either the babysitter or barista part-time career during teenage years

may not earn higher or lower than a B in school

earn the 'bad manners' character value trait

choose any of the following aspirations:

beach life, bestselling author, bodybuilder, big happy family

must reach level 10 of the business career

master the bowling and baking skills.

must move to brindleton bay or to britechester when the generation begins

Generation 3: the letter C

may not earn higher or lower than a C in school

must have the charmer trait or the clingy trait as a toddler.

choose any three of the following traits:

cheerful, child of the islands, child of the oceans, cat lover, childish, clumsy

likes:

contemporary and cosmolux styles. classical music.

goals:

earn the compassionate character value trait.

master the communication skill as a toddler

master the charisma, comedy, and cooking skills.

complete any of these aspirations:

the computer whiz, city native, country caretaker, chief of mischief

reach level 10 of any of the following careers:

conservationist, civil designer, criminal, critic, culinary.

master the creativity skill as a child

Generation 4: the letter D

likes: DJ Booth, Dancing

goals:

reach the top level of the diver part time career as a teenager

master the DJ mixing and dancing skills

move to del sol valley as soon as the generation begins

reach level ten of any of the following careers:

doctor or detective.

Generation 5: the letter E

likes: easy listening and electronica music.

traits:

evil, erratic.

goals:

earn the emotional control character value trait

complete the eco-innovator aspiration

reach level ten of any of the following careers:

education, engineer, entertainer

move to evergreen harbour as soon as the generation starts.

Generation 6: the letter F

likes: farmhouse and french country styles. Focus music. Fishing and fitness

traits: foodie, freegan, family-oriented

must have the fussy trait as a toddler

goals:

reach the top level of either the fastfood employee or fisherman career as a teenager.

complete any of these aspirations: friend of the world, freelance botanist.

complete any of the freelance careers.

master the fishing, fitness, and flower arranging skills

move to the forgotten hollow as soon soon as the generation starts.

visit the forgotten grotto.

Generation 7: the letter G

likes: garden style. Gardening and guitar. Green and Grey.

any of the following traits:

good, green fiend, geek, goofball, gloomy.

goals:

complete either the good vampire aspiration or the grilled cheese aspiration.

master the guitar, gardening, and gourmet cooking skills.

go on holiday to granite falls.

move to Glimmerbrook as soon as the generation starts.

reach level ten of the gardening career.

Generation 8: the letter H

likes: handiness. hip-hop music.

traits: high maintenance, hot-headed, hates children.

goals:

gain the 'happy toddler' trait

master the herbalism and handiness skills.

move to henford-on-bagley as soon as the generation starts.

Generation 9: the letter I

likes: island radio. island style.

toddler traits: either independent or inquisitive.

goals:

must develop the irresponsible and insensitive character value traits.

master the imagination skill as a toddler

Generation 10: the letter J

likes: Japanese folk, jazz music.

must have the jealous trait

goals:

must complete the joke star aspiration.

Must have two children: the eldest name will begin with the letter K, who must like kids music. the youngest, who will become the heir, will begin with the letter L

Something Precious: A Sims 4 Legacy

Welcome to my legacy challenge! I love this sort of game-play and wanted to create something that I would enjoy, and hopefully someone else will too! This is a ten generation legacy with each generation assigned something precious and a corresponding colour!

The ‘Spice of Life’✨ Legacy Challenge

Sometimes playing the sims can get a little stale, and somewhat repetitive, especially The Sims 4. I know I can get stuck playing the same stories over and over again, so I decided to create this challenge to add a little excitement and variety to my, and hopefully your, game-play!

After all, variety is the spice of life!

Gen 1: The Wild Child

You’re a sim who loves to get down, go on adventures and spend time with other sims! You can be a bit of a handful for some sims, but that’s okay! You’ve been wild since the day you were born and you wouldn’t want to be any other way. You have about a million things you want to do in your life time and you’re gonna do them all!

Aspiration: Friend of the Animals

Traits: Dance Machine, Adventurous, Outgoing

Generation rules / goals:

Join the secret agent career and get to the top of it before your sim becomes an elder

Once your sim is an elder have them start a new job, keep them on their toes!

Complete the Friend of the Animals aspiration

Master the Dance & Pet training skills throughout your sims lifetime

Have five animals in your sims house-hold at one time (these should be cats, dogs, raccoon, foxes, etc.) - you don’t always have to have five but you should at some point

Have you sim have at least 10 friends and having a falling out with one of them and become enemies

Have a best-friend that is NOT your partner / spouse

Have your sim go out at least once every weekend to either the club, the bar or somewhere else they can dance! They’re a dance machine remember!

Your sim can have as many children as you like, but keep in mind that they have a lot of animals in the house

You must have at least one child in order for them to become heir, they can be adopted or biological, it doesn’t matter!

Go on at least two family vacations, one of these must be to Mt. Komorebi

Have your sim be a very relaxed parent, no rules, no pressure to get good grades, etc. (Parenthood is needed for this but if you don’t have it that’s okay just do your best without it!)

the postcard legacy challenge 

howdy!! we have written a gameplay legacy challenge that currently consists of 23 generations as of july 2021. we have always enjoyed gameplay and the idea of creating this challenge came from the many prompts we gave ourselves. several generations we have played ourselves and several others are brand new that we have yet to try! as new stuff, game and expansion packs get released, we will update with more prompts to the google doc! if you have any questions, do feel free to reach out. we’ll be happy to help!

It is finally here! After weeks of working on this challenge, I can finally say that I am done and ready to start playing 👀 But first, let me introduce you to the challenge!

After the ungodly amount of love I received after sharing the NSB updated rules, I figured why not continue this trend and update one of my favorite berry legacies on this planet! Similarly to the NSB updated rules, I wanted to make the Berry Pastel Rainbowcy challenge by @berrysweetboutique​ more challenging and add content from the newer packs to the challenge to make it more current. That being said, this challenge first and foremost belongs to Berry, who kindly gave me permission to share this updated rules version of her beloved legacy challenge!

Similarly to the NSB updated challenge, the rules will be posted in a google document for easy access and to enable me to edit the rules whenever I want/need to. Feel free to skip or add objectives as you play, you don’t have to stick to the objectives I’ve laid out for you, but they’re there if you would like to play around with them!

The Fatal Flaws Legacy Challenge

The premise of this challenge is that each generation is confronted with a “fatal flaw” that they either decide to overcome or revel in. The reason I wrote this challenge was because I realized that the sims I enjoyed playing most were ones with “negative” traits. I had a lot of fun writing this, so I hope at least one other person has fun playing it :)  Google Doc Link

Notes:

This challenge is greatly improved by any mods that make actually traits matter, e.g. personality please, roburky’s meaningful stories.

This challenge is more story-based than game-play based, though there’s elements of both

You don’t need to complete the aspirations! They’re only meant as a guide + are also there for the sake of the aspiration trait.

The only generations that really require an expansion pack are gen 4: squeamish, because that particular trait comes from outdoor retreat and gen 7: lazy, because it requires you to adopt animals.

Feel free to go to university any generation if you feel like it suits your sim’s story/you want to.

Generation One: Mean

you didn’t grow up in the happiest or most functional of households. and so you moved out as soon as you could. now it’s just you, your dog, and your shitty job. you’re kind of an asshole, but you can’t help it – it’s a deep-seated defense mechanism from your past. other people can’t hurt you if you hurt them first, right? but as you grow older, you start to realise that, more than anything, you want the loving family you never had. if only you could find someone who could make it past your terrible social skills in order to see the big heart you have hidden underneath.

traits: mean, dog lover (base game: gloomy) + family orientated (YA)

aspiration: big happy family

career: retail + can pick another part time career as an adult on top of that (optional)

rules

start the generation as a teen on an empty lot.

drop out of high school using a mod, or just simply don’t go.

make money from the retail career + dumpster diving, fishing, collectibles, anything, just never get a proper full time job.

be mean to everyone you met until you meet you spouse.

when you age up into young adult, meet and woo a sim of your choice (optional: they have the good trait.)

have at least three kids and become at least ‘friends’ level relationship     with all of them.

Cats and Dogs: have a dog with the friendly trait, become companions with them.

Parenthood: if you want an extra challenge, age up from teenager to have the insensitive trait from negative empathy.

how a legacy blooms: a flower-based legacy challenge

hi! i make a lot of gardener sims for some reason, so i had the idea to create this legacy challenge based on the ten flowers you can find in the sims 4 base game & their real-life flower meanings. the generations are loosely arranged based on the in-game flower rarities. i wanted to make sure i included gameplay opportunities, traits, and family dynamics that i didn’t really play with a lot, so that i would find new ways to play the game while playing through this myself.

(Has this been done before? It’s probably been done before. But now I’m doing it.)

so I LOVE storytelling in the sims, and I love legacy challenges because following a single family is SO fun for me and watching townie families evolve as my family goes on is just as exciting. The one thing I’m not a huge fan of is how a lot of legacy challenges set out specific traits and storylines for players to follow, when my favorite part of the sims is figuring out sims’ personalities for themselves. SO.

I wrote my own challenge with a little less structure, just to allow players some more storytelling freedom (but still have some goals to chase). This is a NINE (9) generation challenge, based off of nine gems, all of which are collectable in base game.

The Sour Legacy Challenge

Did I make a legacy challenge based on Olivia Rodrigo’s Sour? Yes, I did.

The overall guidelines are pretty loose here. Obviously there’s a lot to accomplish each generation, but I tried to make it so there is plenty of room for freedom too. And if you’re not feeling an aspiration or have a career you’ve been meaning to try - go ahead and switch it up if you think it makes sense! Just try to pick something that isn’t already in the challenge.

Creating my very own legacy challenge has been a dream of mine for years. Im so proud of how this challenge came out and, most importantly, I hope you love it just as much!

Sims challenges are not meant to restrict you! Each generation will have goals and descriptions, but everything can and should be customized to your gameplay style!

Gen One

Farmer Family

The simple life is the life for you! Tending to your farm, nightly family dinners, and knowing everyone in your community. You're living the small town dream. You and your partner are best friends! Not only best friends, but almost the same person. You have the same goals in life and help each other achieve them! Working together to grow your garden and take care of your animals is only the beginning. Once you started having children, something you've always dreamed of, your farm only expanded from there! Everyone in the house has their own jobs; whether that be cleaning, gardening, cooking, tending to animals, etc. You make money by selling your own products and over time, you become the biggest family run farm in town! Although you love all your children, as you get older you realize there needs to be someone to pass your land onto. You've worked so hard on it your whole life after all! Out of all of your children, there seems to be a clear choice on who it should be. You live your last days preparing this child to run the farm once you pass, and feel comfort in knowing they will continue your legacy!

Goals:

Have the Family Oriented and Loves Outdoors traits

Complete the Country Caretaker Aspiration

Max the gardening skill

Must live on at least a 50x40 lot

Start on only a portion of your lot, expand throughout your life until the entire lot is farm land

Content Creator

Although they would never admit it, you have always been the outcast in your family. Things that came naturally to them were always undesirable to you. You love them and they love you, but that doesn't change the obvious. When they were all getting dirty outdoors, you were in your room in your own little world. Video gaming is your number one passion! After attempting to conform to farm life your whole childhood, your parents ended up getting you a computer as a teen and your world changed from there. Playing games, streaming, watching other gamers, making friends online- you realized for the first time ever just how big the world is beyond your small town! Your teen life was spent staying up as late as possible and gaming until you couldn't keep your eyes open anymore. After becoming a young adult and being immersed in fantasy worlds for years, you decide to move to the city for a fresh start! Talk about culture shock, everything was different here from where you grew up! Luckily for you, you meet your future spouse soon after moving which makes the transition a lot easier. You start your streaming/YouTube career and blow up! Your videos become so popular that you become a B-lister! You're known as a down to earth celebrity to most, probably because of the way you grew up. In fact, most of the money you earn goes straight to your child! Your parents let you be exactly who you were despite it being very different from them, and you want to do the same thing for your child. Even if that means spoiling them rotten!

Gen Three

Disillusioned Dreamer

You can achieve anything you want to- right? Growing up being an only child, you were the apple of your parent's eyes. Okay maybe that's an understatement. You got everything you wanted growing up. You wanted a pet? They got two for you. You wanted to travel? They brought you anywhere in the world. You decided you wanted to be a musician? They bought you the most expensive instruments to choose from. In fact, that's exactly what happened! Your parent was famous for their passion, so why can't it be the same for you? You fell in love with making music and, more importantly, the idea of being famous. One day you will go on a world tour and be the most famous musician in the world!! Fast forward to your adult life: you're living in a place payed for by your parents, you spend a lot of time at bars and parties, and (worst of all) you're not famous for your music. Why are all your dreams not coming true? You spend many nights performing on the street, at cafes, at bars, or anywhere really. The only good thing to come out of these performances was meeting your spouse. After a long defeating night of playing music to strangers who couldn't care less, you meet the one person who took the time to listen and appreciate your music! Someone finally understanding your musical genius? It felt like love at first sight Your parents ended up buying you a music store for you to run once they realized your music career was most likely not taking off (of course they didn't say that part to you). While you loved owning your own business centered around music, you knew it wasn't your life calling Even though your dreams never became reality, you never stopped hoping. You constantly told your kids (and anyone who would listen) that one day you will tour the world as a musician! You'll show them one day...

Goals:

Have the world famous celebrity aspiration, but do not complete it

Have the music lover and Self absorbed traits

Maintain at least 'good friend' level friendship with both of your parents throughout your life

Go all in on different hobbies as a child until you find music

Perform on streets, bars, coffee shops, your music store, etc.

Own music store (retail) bought by your parents (you can use money cheats for this if it's easier)

Have a pregnancy, get someone pregnant, or adopt multiples (Twins, Triplets, etc.)

Gen Four

Bohemian Backpacker

You've always been a 'go with the flow' type of person. Most of your relationship with your parent growing up was them telling you how they will 'travel the world one day'. Of course they were talking about their delusions of being famous, but all you heard was 'travel'. Every once in a while, while hanging out at your parent's music store as a kid, you'd meet someone from a part of the world you've never been to. You always had a million questions and wanted to experience it for yourself, but where should you live as an adult? The answer: everywhere! You decide to pack everything up and see the world! From the beaches of Sulani to the snowy peak of Mt. Komerebi, you want to experience it all! If there was a non-materialistic trait, you would have it. Material possessions only distract people from appreciating Mother Nature anyway! You (and your partner) sell photographs or collectables to get by, but the goal for you is never to make a lot of money. In true free spirit fashion, you never get married. I mean who needs a piece of paper to prove how much you love someone? You still have kid(s) and have a beautiful and healthy relationship. That's all that matters. You spend your life embracing different cultures and appreciating the beauty of the world.

Goals:

Complete either The Curator or Outdoor Enthusiast aspiration

If there was a contest for most introverted person in the world, you wouldn't even enter because that sounds too social for you. The only company you need is your own mind. Besides, when you grow up moving around as much as you did, it's hard to make connections with other people. Luckily, that's just how you like it. Your parent was obsessed with seeing the world, but you're obsessed with creating your own worlds. You've wanted to be a writer for as long as you could remember. You acted like an adult even as a child. Your parent's view of the world was definitely not shared by you. In fact, you wasted no time in moving out on your own. Finally it was time to live life your way- the right way. The only thing you didn't expect or plan was meeting your partner. Most of your relationship was formed online instead of in person, Which is how you preferred it. Once you did meet in person though, you moved in together and eloped as soon as possible! I guess when you know, you know. You spend most of your time writing in your office and having your daily routine that you don't change. To be honest, you've been in love with them your whole life! When your parent moved your family into a haunted house, fate struck again. You couldn't believe there's this whole other part of the world out there, and at the same time it made complete sense! The only person who believed you though was your partner. Being the only person to confide in about this made your bond that much stronger (if that was even possible). After the initial shock of learning about the paranormal, you realized there's a reason it came into your life. You're a medium. No wonder why you've always felt so different! Your whole life now made sense and you can see how you've been pulled to this destiny. You even hone your skills enough to eventually become a paranormal investigator! Once you and your partner get married, you buy a house of your own that is not haunted. When it comes to your career, while you're very passionate about it, you decide it's best to not bring work home with you if you can help it. As much as your job means to you, your relationship was and always will be the center on your world. You fill your home with beautiful memories and children. Growing old together with your best friend and soulmate, you are endlessly thankful to the universe for bringing you two together.

Animals are so much better than humans. Your family cat growing up was your best friend! You were always a little socially awkward, but animals never judged you. You took your pet to the vet anytime they needed it, and it was there that your animal fixation grew. Adults can spend all day with animals instead of other people? Why wouldn't everyone do that?? You grew up seeing your parents have the most perfect relationship ever and thought that you should have the same thing, so you married your first ever partner just like they did. Only for you, it wasn't meant to be. After having kids with your spouse, you both realize you can't force the relationship anymore. You decide to get a divorce and split custody of the kids. Even when it's the right thing to do, divorce is hard, so you decide to focus on what makes you happy- your business. Your vet office ends up thriving after throwing yourself into your work. No more forcing things that aren't meant to be! You end up never getting remarried or having another long term relationship again. Some people (like your parents) would feel empty without a partner to share their life with, but you spend your life with your animals and children. You wouldn't have it any other way.

You hated when people fought and that's all you saw from them growing up. You make it your mission in life to spread light and joy everywhere you go because there's just not enough of it! You work in the self-care industry teaching yoga, giving massages, doing nails, and overall trying to make people feel good. You try to always practice what you preach, living a healthy lifestyle yourself. You tend to stay away from romantic relationships because of what happened with your parents. You love the idea of falling in love and spending your life with someone, but the hurt that could come from that just isn't worth it to you. In a possible lapse of judgment, you have a one night stand with your best friend. It definitely wasn't planned but the result will be permanent because... you end up having a baby together! Despite this, you decide not to start dating. You're too worried it would ruin your friendship or, worse, end in you two breaking up and making your child go through the same thing you did. That's your biggest fear. You remain best friends as you raise your child together, always living right next to each other and being very hands on parents. There's times where you find yourself wanting more, but your inner voice talks you out of it every time. Until... One day, your child already being a teenager at this point, your best friend confesses their love for you! You've both always felt it, but neither of you acted on it until now (and when your child was conceived of course). The thing that you've lived your whole life thinking was your biggest fear, suddenly didn't seem so bad. The unthinkable happened. Your mind set changed in an instant and you didn't want to spend another second not being with your person. You feel a weight being lifted from you when you finally allow yourself to love. You didn't know happily ever after existed until you experienced it yourself, and you live the rest of your life being head over heels in love!

Your room growing up becomes a collection of various nicknacks and your own artistic creations. You start dating someone as a teen who you don't have a lot in common with- a result of teen rebellion maybe? Well, one thing lead to another and you end up having a baby! You tell your partner and they don't end up being as excited as you to say the least. They end your relationship and refuse to be in your child's life. Of course this isn't how you wanted things to go, but they made their decision and you make yours. You're so excited to be a parent and luckily have the help of your own parents. As your baby gets a little older, you realize you'll need to find reliable income and live independently at some point! You always sold your creations on Plopsy, but you're too extroverted to do that forever. You decide to open a little shop where you sell your own creations as well as other vintage goods! This shop is the physical version of your personality- Quirky! From old books, to clothes, to antiques; if you can find or make it, you sell it! As luck would have it, you meet your future spouse at your own store! Your personalities match perfectly and they even embrace your child as their own- and you do the same! Both being single parents is something that bonded you from the beginning. You get married and have even more kids together! Your big blended family ends up being your favorite creation you've ever made.

If you could choose to change your identity, what would you pick? You discovered your life purpose the day you found a book on occults as a kid. Your parents shop was always collecting old books that you liked to go through. You loved reading but the subject of the book never stuck with you until now. Are Vampires real? Mermaids? Spell Casters and Werewolves?? At first you loved learning more about this world of fantasy, but then that fantasy became a reality. Being a person of logic, you learn everything you can about each occult, but it wasn't enough. Once you become a young adult you decide to set out to find answers first hand. After traveling to what felt like each corner of the world, you end up meeting someone of each different occult type. You learn from them, even the interactions that aren't as friendly show you so much about their world. Each time you think you should be satisfied with the knowledge you've gathered, you only want to know more. After your travels, you decide there's only one thing to do. Become an occult. You pick the occult that you've grown the most obsessed with and do whatever it takes to become one yourself! Moving forward you completely immerse yourself in this occult and the community you have as a result.
