My Internship journey with IFORTIS CORPORATE, INDIA.

Greetings,
Hello all, I am Prashant Hirpara and, I started my summer internship as a Sales and Marketing Intern at IFortis Corporate. I am currently pursing MBA from B.K. School of Professional and Management studies, DPPG, Gujrat University. Focused, determined and tenacious are a few words that describe a part of me. I am always open to learn new things and give in all my efforts while working.
IFortis Corporate has risen to become one of India’s most prestigious corporations. IFortis started off as a company that provide IT and marketing services. As time went on, IFortis’ reliance on technology began to limit its capacity to offer competitive prices and new services. IFortis also saw what had become an industry standard: a lack of communication. As a result, IFortis made the strategic choice to establish its own headquarters in India in order to better serve its clients.
In the past few weeks, I worked on the project: STEP AHEAD, India’s First and Largest Virtual School Fiesta hosted by IFortis Corporate. The event’s goal was to provide students with an opportunity to participate and demonstrate their abilities and skills on a global stage. It also aimed to promote students’ self-esteem, foster a sense of competition, and most importantly provide them with the opportunity to participate in a world record attempt. I got to learn and understand the project and what potential customers are thinking and doing at each stage of the purchasing journey. Sales and Marketing funnel were a few skills that I engulfed during the internship tenure. Content writing and poster making played salient role in up structuring my ideas. These insights empowered me to invest in the right marketing activities and channels which further helped me turn more prospects into customers. This internship gave me an opportunity to strengthen my communication skill, manage tasks and keep customer relationship intact.
My mentor Ms. Vaishali Sharma was very helpful in ushering us throughout. She gave timely feedback and pointers which helped me arrive at impactful recommendations with 360-degree view added to the experience through the weekly interactive sessions that were held by her. She exemplifies what it means to be a “mentor”. She made sure that interns had access to her at all time for assistance and to answer any of our questions. The warm induction by the IFortis team gave me a sense of belongingness from day one.
My job was to get people signed up for the international event that IFortis was hosting. We began the endeavor by creating posters that appealed to both parents and students. The next step was to share them on social media in order to get people’s attention. I decided to follow the AIDA model approach that is, creating attention first, then interest, desire and finally action. I had to perform some research to figure out which platforms were most popular among parents and then share my content accordingly.
We had weekly meeting where we addressed our success, as well as the obstacles we had and the methods we took to overcome them. Finding qualified leads was a major challenge that I faced. Attracting a lot of leads was not a good idea as I believed in the phrase “quality over quantity”. I followed an inbound marketing methodology which attracted a lot of audience via blogs, social media and SEO. No matter how much I was communicating with the prospects, I was somewhere lagging with the message that I was delivering which resulted in low response from prospects. I took extra efforts to persuade parents who were particularly living in metropolitan cities.
At least I want to thank Ms. Vaishali Sharma again for her guidance and supervision during the first phase of my internship experience. Her leadership throughout assisted me in future development of my communication as well as presentation skills. I also want to thank the entire team of IFortis Corporate for taking out the time to share their expertise and knowledge of the field. It was truly a wonderful learning experience for me and this will be of great help to me in my future endeavors. If I have to sum up my experience in a line, I would say- be open to learning, unlearning and relearning.
Company’s future goal: IFortis Corporate is stepping into Apparel Manufacturing industry with an ambitious mission to create more employment opportunity for the women and youth across India and helping them on the quality, worker’s safety and welfare, social responsibility and customer satisfaction.
