But tonight will be my first foray into TWITCH, where I’ll be playing Kingdom Hearts for the foreseeable future! I honestly can’t begin to tell you how excited I am for this; this is my favorite series and it’s gonna be a blast and I really hope you’ll come join me if you enjoy my general ridiculousness!

KINGDOM HEARTS

IT’S HAPPENING

I’m starting streaming KH this Friday at 8pm (as always, my time zone is EST or GMT -5:00)!

I’m honestly super excited to restart the series from scratch, the last time I did that was when A Fragmentary Passage came out in January 2017 because my then-housemates wanted to play it but had only played KH1 and KH2 before that point. So this run is overdue!

I’ll be playing on Twitch, so feel free to head over there before then. I’ll try to post a reminder here as well but god i can’t make any promises who knows

Who is your favorite trio?

THAT’S A REMARKABLY HARD QUESTION ANON i honestly find that while each trio fits into what seems to be nomura’s Trio Tropes, they each have their own unique qualities and relationships.

the destiny trio have been friends since childhood, they’ve grown up together with (mostly) an ignorance about the worlds outside of their own and few cares and worries. when we start the game, the biggest worries they have are who’s going to date who and whether three fish are enough to sustain them on a rafting expedition. even as the games progress, there’s still this love and trust that comes with being the best of friends for years between the three of them

the wayfinder trio is different in that their friendship was forged through their paths as keyblade wielders. we don’t know about terra and aqua’s past, whether they knew each other before they started training under master eraqus, but there’s no denying that their tutelage under him is at the core of the trio’s friendship. their roles as caretakers of the worlds and guardians of the light is impossible to separate from their friendship

finally, the seasalt trio. theirs is a friendship forged on the battlefield, the “latest” development of friendship but one that is no less strong than any of the others’. their friendship grows with the trials they face, but is also wracked by the necessity of the secrets they keep from each other. i’ll be honest; i was pretty ambivalent on axel throughout CoM and kh2 but nearer the end of 358/2 days was when he finally became a great character in my eyes

i think in the end the destiny trio is my favorite, partly because i have such a soft spot for the original game (it will always be my favorite in the series) and partly because riku is my favorite character out of the whole cast so i’m absolutely biased. but i honestly love all of them and they all give me a lot of emotions

What about the KH2FM mods like the Vanitas one by Xaddgx? If your PC can run it and if you've done at least one Lvl 1 Crit run I 100% recommend it. Or even if you didn't, check out him out his Aqua mod is coming out early 2021

oh my friend YOU THINK I’M A LOT BETTER THAN I AM LMAO though honestly i should try a lvl 1 run one day just for shits and giggles it’d be interesting to see how far i got before i went FUCK THIS SHIT I QUIT LET ME LEVEL UP

so i probably won’t do disco for a while because of many different reasons but i’ve been fiddling around with everything else to get back into everything (and this time i saved all my passwords in my password manager, so FINGERS CROSSED there’s no trouble there)

What are your thoughts on liveblogging VNs or VN like games? (Like Ace Attorney, Danganronpa and the like)

i’m down with that! (i LOVE ace attorney honestly, though i need to.... finish spirit of justice....) i’m pretty much open to any medium; the only thing i’ve got is that you will p much never catch me playing sandboxy games like animal crossing or minecraft or reading/watching super slice of life things. a lack of plot slays the pfs

Will you only liveblog webcomics (Such as HS), or are you also open to other kinds of media (Anime, VNs, books, games, etc.)?

i’m pretty open to anything honestly though i WILL warn you that i am NOTORIOUSLY bad at watching stuff; i find it really hard to just sit and watch something for long periods of time (my friends know that if it’s longer than 5 minutes it’s probably going into a tab for some ambiguous period of time until i finally decide i’m ready to sit down and watch it)

liveblogging tends to help with that since i can furiously type into a word document while watching but if it’s something stupid long that i have to just Watch and not actively interface with, it’ll be a little less likely for me to go for it (though not outside the realm of possibility!)

Dang, this is a throwback. I remember I started following you and a bunch of other liveblogs back during the megapause (hard to believe a 2 month hiatus felt like a long time for HS back then). So many, most really, just stopped posting and disappeared, every now and then I still wonder how some of them are doing. So it's really cool to see you pop back up!

YOU KNOW I DO THE SAME THING TBQH back when i was like 13 or so there was a group i was part of on an ancient set of forums and i was pretty close to a couple of the members. it’s been a stupid number of years since the last time i talked to any of them but I STILL WONDER ABOUT THEM and i hope they’re doing well

honestly idk if i’m going to do the epilogues/sequel, but i think i’ll probably try to power through to the end of the original just because i really was having a blast liveblogging it here with everyone. i’ve heard... oh god i don’t even remember what i heard but i heard SOMETHING about one of the sequels that had everyone all up in arms???? Oh man so THAT SURE IS A CAN OF WORMS but the summation is that things are pretty all right! the computer i’d been doing all my liveblogging from wound up in storage for much longer than expected (i’d expected a couple months, it wound up being a couple years... same difference right) and I wound up moving to the east coast with my SO. there’ve been some struggles for sure and a lot of personal growth in the past few years (and frankly just since i started working from home in March) but all in all things are better than they were before and that’s really all i can ask for!

I think that’s right! I think my exploits on that front have mostly been limited to being remarkably Not Great at fencing (it probably helps if you’re actually consistent with practicing though; I should try that at some point). No oxcarts for me, but I do have a couple hilarious stories about middle-aged men riding red flyer wagons down steep hills screaming!
