Age Limitation to Appear in the UGC NET Examination

The age of the candidates is different for different post i.e. for Junior Research Fellowship and for Assistant Professor. The age limit for the Junior Research Fellowship is 28 years along with the age relaxation for reserved candidates and there is no upper age limit to apply for Assistant Professor.

Educational Qualification

The candidates need to have master’s degree with at least 55% Marks for General Category and the candidates who belong to reserved category need to have 50% marks in Master’s Degree. The candidates with any other equivalent degree are also applicable to fill the UGC NET Application form with the same percentage of Marks. The University or Institution from where the candidate have taken the degree must be authorised by UGC. The candidates who have completed the Master’s Degree before 1991 will get a relaxation of 5% in their Master’s Degree i.e. those candidates with 50% marks may also apply for the CBSE UGC NET Registration Form.
