i just watched severance the other day and the brainrot dear GOD. i love helena SO much shes my cringe loser girlfailure awkward loser i ADORE HER idc if shes evil idc shes so special and important to me. i've already started writing for her. but she's so AGH i'm totally normal. i'm breathing normally rn so normally. i am enjoying each character equally. totally.

Oh god. Oh no. I just realized. Helena thought Mark liked HER. She thought that because Mark liked Helly that meant Mark liked HER cause Helly is her. Helly is part of her. That’s why she called for Mark when Irving was pulling her toward the water. She thought Mark would save her. And now she has to rectify with the fact that Mark didn’t love or even like her. Their whole thing was only because Mark thought she was Helly. Mark doesn’t care about Helena at all. And she’s gotta deal with that in her head now. That’s another person in her life who doesn’t love her. And this time it’s even worse. Because he likes someone who IS HER! It’s her body! It’s her brain! But he still doesn’t love her. She’s still not loved. But another version is loved so much by three whole people they’re willing to sacrifice themselves!!!!! Helena is loved by no one. She even had to almost beg Milchick to save her. No one was coming to save her. Because they don’t love her they don’t even like her. They love Helly.

OHHHHHH AND I AM SOOO ANNOYED no i need to calm down i need to be normal. but like no bc i'm so irritated because i just saw someone say they 'hate evolution prentiss and she's so annoying and is just paget 2.0' HELLOOOOO ????

i need to stop getting so personally upset by people's opinions but ohhhhh i'm upset i'm so upset. fine if u think she's annoying but also like why ????? because she's depressed ??? like i understand not liking her i guess but finding her annoying is wild to me there are many characters i would call annoying before her (in evo And the whole show)

and again with the paget 2.0 thing bitch WHERE ? like i get she's changed, i noticed it too and sometimes i get a little sad missing older emily, like season 5 emily bc she was so happy then. and yeah she's very different like, it can be a bit disorienting sometimes but if you look at the way her characters grown over the years it makes sense !!!!

she is working in a job which has forced her to become that which she hates. her job now is more focused on politics rather than the actual work she loved doing -- she had to choose between the job she loved and the job that would get her further in her career, and it seems like she in part regrets that decision, as seen in season 17 when she does not introduce herself as section chief in episode one.

her life has been kind of stripped of joy. what's one thing she has that brings her genuine happiness? what person does she have who would choose them over somebody else? what life does she have outside the BAU?

like yes. her character has blended more with paget. i'd argue that JJ has blended with AJ, and don't even get me STARTED on what they did to Reid and how he became unrecognisable in the later seasons, making him into what the fans were obsessed with and heavily erasing his autistic traits and everything that originally gave him potential to be an interesting character.

like, i'll accept the idea that her character is paget 2.0, annoying, and different, when we also criticise the others to that same degree? like penelope and how she's become a very different person than she was. do they dislike that also? that she has become more like kirsten over the years? that her personality has changed and some of her actions don't feel like her at all?

people can have their own opinions do what you want forever etc etc but man people disliking emily makes me so sad #autism

screaming into the void a little here because i was lurking on twitter and i saw people saying they hate emily's character in evolution and it pissed me off because like well. autistic special interest.

but also like their arguments for disliking her (which is valid but also upset me bc obvi) was like that she doesn't feel like the same character / feels more like paget than emily and like

first of awlllll like the whole 'i cant separate emily and paget' thing like hello theyre so different ??? yeah i think paget has sort of bled into emily a little because when you play a character for 20-odd years that's Gonna happen and i think it's the case with a lot of the characters now, having been in the show for so long. and also, they arent that similar ??? paget is very smiley and giggly and she loves cooking and fun stuff and emily is a pretty sad person?

to me an important part of emily's character is her loneliness (which is one of the reasons i'm pissed that they're supposedly giving her a sister). she is an intensely lonely and sad woman i think. she has no family (besides said sister, supposedly) and all of the BAU have someone else they would probably choose over her, and have some connection with their family. so she's like, pretty damn lonely. but i digress, the point is her and paget, to me, are quite intensely different ??

and as for her character not being the same as she used to be, well yes ???? this woman has been through unimaginable trauma in what world is she not changed by that? of course she doesn't feel like the same person, she's lost herself, and she's changed over 20 years, much like paget's portrayal of the character.

but there are core things which remain the same. like her pushing of the law/her professionalism in pursuit of what she believes is right. her devotion to the team -- and i'd say also her belief that their lives are worth more than hers. the way she cares for the victims they see. all of these core parts of her are still her, but she's aged, grown, and adapted through all of her trauma, and the lives she's lived. just because she's changed doesn't mean it's bad

i know the posts were probably light hearted but it hit me in the autism and i could rant abt emily for hours and hours. i might start rambling about her more on here as opposed to spamming my gc abt it LMAO they are sick of me i fear
