We live in the dumbest, lamest cyberpunk dystopia possible.

So LA has been — and continues to — protest against ICE. These protests haven’t gotten any smaller or lost any momentum, but social media wasn’t reflecting it.

TikTok users, realizing that the platform/other social media are censoring/deleting/shadowbanning these protest videos, decided to find a workaround.

They’re calling it the LA Music Festival. Ice detention centers and other protest locations are “stages.” The hottest band is Rage Against the Machine. “Here’s what gear you should be bringing to stay safe at the LA Music Festival.”

And it fucking worked.

TikTok has become a proving ground for a lot of new music, meaning lots of labels and organizations have lucrative deals with TikTok to promote their new artists and music festivals. So they absolutely cannot censor the words “music festival” or train the algorithm to ignore it, or they risk endangering that very important revenue.

So now protest videos are flooding feeds again, but it’s the LA 24/7 Music Festival. Truly an incredible timeline we’ve landed in.

♡ neatly arrange a beautiful, nutritious meal for yourself

♡ put away the laundry

♡ rearrange your bed or any sort of living spaces

♡ make a particularly fancy cup of something to drink, even if it's water, and present it super cute and pretty

♡ dig out your favourite book from childhood and write about it

♡ clean out and rearrange your wardrobe

♡ compile some outfit ideas for future reference (🎀🗒️note: bonus points if u take photos of yourself in each outfit and have a little fashion show whilst doing it!)

♡ listen to old nintendo music

♡ brush your teeth again because why not

♡ write diary entries to urself for every mood

♡ sweep or vacuum your living space

♡ wipe down every surface

♡ update your calendar

♡ arrange some new routines

♡ dedicate an hour just to getting things done that you don't really want to

♡ charge a device ready for you to use at some point'

♡ make a shopping basket on every single shopping site you know of

♡ look into future holidays and write them down specifically, all the way down to the hotel room number

♡ write out an "unrealistic" wishlist of things you're obviously going to get

♡ walk all the way to somewhere you don't usually go and just hang out there by yourself

Tyler Perry really said “You guys want to watch a black woman suffer for 108 minutes straight ?” And dropped Straw on Netflix. Doesn’t even try to beat the allegations and still was mad at The Boondocks for calling him out. And I’m not exaggerating, this woman gets tortured.

First she’s a single mom, working a dead end job with a daughter that’s always sick, they’re getting threatened to get evicted, her boss is an asshole who refuses to pay her the check she’s owed, she gets assaulted by customers verbally and physically, she can’t afford to give her daughter lunch money for school,her daughter gets taken away by CPS, she gets physically and verbally assaulted by a police officer who threatens to kill her, her car gets impounded, she gets fired because she didn’t return to work in time, her job gets robbed and her boss thinks that she set up the robbery and tries to call the police despite her saving his life and then she shoots and kills her boss and goes on the run, then she robs a bank because they won’t give her her money because the cops took her ID, and then after all that she gets called by her mom asking her why she’s robbing a bank and informs her that her daughter died a while ago and it turns out Taraji’s character went crazy after her daughter died and has been hallucinating her being there ever since and even hallucinated her daughter getting taken away by CPS and hallucinating the school calling her when it was really bill collectors calling her, and then she’s tear gassed and killed by police but no sorry, that was a hallucination too, she actually surrenders and gets taken away peacefully and Tyler thinks “ She didn’t die so it’s all alright !” when this woman is going to go to JAIL because she killed her boss ! Like the two robbers you can argue she shot was self defense but she killed her boss ! That wasn’t a hallucination and that wasn’t the better outcome ! And her friend encouraged her hallucinations instead of getting her help even though she knew her daughter was dead the entire time !

And people argue that this is a good movie because it’s “realistic” like no, fuck that noise, Tyler Perry just hates black women and likes to stroke his dick to the thought of us suffering and I’m thinking Taraji is just as weird as he is because she’s always in his “black woman suffering extra hard” movies.
