Apparently it’s the one year anniversary of Jedi: Survivor’s release and i completely spaced on it. It’s been a rough week and I’m working on some Cal Kestis week stuff so it just flew over my head.
(Along with the spyscrapper event, somehow.)
But I still wanted to put something out there about the game.
I got Jedi: Fallen Order not too long after its release in 2019. Star Wars has always been a huge part of my life since the second I was born, and this game was getting good reviews, so I thought. Why not.
Earlier in 2019, my dad got sick. Like, really sick, and various doctors he went to seemed unable to figure out what was going on. One day it was such-and-such, the next day it was so-and-so, the diagnoses did nothing to help.
I remember spending a lot of late nights staying up and playing JFO. I remember spending so much time in this game, and absolutely loving every second of it. It was a HUGE comfort for me in a really uncertain time.
Then 2020 started and I completed the game, but I was determined to get 100% and get the achievements. The doctors figured out what was wrong with my dad, but it didn’t make things better, and he just kept getting sicker and sicker. I threw myself into JFO at any opportunity to help me cope. Then lockdown happened.
2020 was a terrible year in so many ways, and Cal helped me through it.
When Jedi: Survivor was announced, and that it would be for the PS5 which I didn’t have nor could afford, I was SO upset. I played it a bit at a friends house, and then he even let me house sit so I could play for a full 8 or so hours.
Shit feels bad again. I know lockdown ended, and my dad is doing so much better, but I couldn’t recapture the comfort I got from JFO, even if I replayed it.
So I decided my mental health was worth the expense and I bought a PS5, and it is one of the best financial decisions I have ever made.
This is long and rambling, but basically, Cal Kestis brings me comfort in a way I can’t really explain, and a way I haven’t really gotten from any other character. I’m so grateful for these games and all the wonderful people in the fandom.
A sad lil Crosshair animatic to go on the end of episode 3.11! I really enjoy character acting so I had a lot of fun with this. It was a devastating moment and I wanted to imagine the emotional reaction to it.
I'm not sure if it's canon that hunters face tattoo continues further down, but I came across @lornaka s take on hunters tattoos and really wanted to give it a try myself :3
Rules: in a new post, show the last line you wrote (or drew) and tag as many people as there are words (or as many as you like).
I was tagged by @lothcatthree <3 Thank you!
I have been hopping around between a few WIPs lately, but the last line I typed was for my CrossTech AU fic (I always do more than one line for these haha)
“Okay, you’ve played this before,” Veetch said, staring in disbelief at the screen.
“I assure you I have not,” Tech replied. “It is simply a matter of strategizing and locating your opponent’s weaknesses to use against them.”
“Oh, simple, sure,” Hex said with a huff.
I never know who to tag so if you're seeing this and want to do it, consider yourself tagged <3
While we Star Wars fans are anxiously waiting for the bad batch finale, I could use your help! In fact...
I am currently in the process of writing my master's thesis. My research is about age & Star Wars characters. The research is trying to investigate whether there is a difference in fans of different ages liking or disliking certain characters that appear throughout Episodes 1-9. The survey takes about 5-10 minutes to complete, is completely anonymous, and you must be 18+ to participate.
It would be ✨️ wizard ✨️ if you could share it with your friends, parents, siblings, or any other Star Wars fans you might know! Or even just reblogging this post for others to discover here on Tumblr 😊
It would mean the world (or galaxy hehe) if you would fill it out. If you did THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU, ALWAYS! ✨️✨️✨️
