I’ve just realised something that has annoyed me to a new extent.

When PLL was being filmed, Julian Morris posted a video of a hooded figure walking into a room. Once the promo for the finale was released, I realised the moment he filmed was when we saw the hooded figure visit Mona in Radley.

We now know this was actually Wren. My question is: why the FUCK didn’t we see Wren IN the actual hoody if Julian was on set whilst this scene was being filmed?!?!?!?!?! We’ve been told Wren wasn’t more involved because Julian wasn’t available for filming, but in this circumstance it seems like they just didn’t even bother. I mean…. he was literally THERE watching instead of doing. Someone hold me back.

I’m so annoyed.

just imagine how happy we all could'd been if only julian got actual time to be AD. Wren being the main villian, helping his gf alex get revange, bethany and sara explained, the nat club explained, caleb dead. we all would be happy right now. no plotholes just good writing. 2 bad we can't relate.

After reading some quotes from Troian on some PLL blogs I have sooooo much respect and admiration for her for this final! Marlene was basically busy planning for famous in love and didn't really have much of a plan, leaving Troian to plan and perfect this character PLUS deliver the character so perfectly. I agree I wasn't a fan of the accent as I'm British too and it was just too much but she KILLED it, like you said, and she worked so hard! Honestly love and respect her so much

Yeppppp very true. It sounds like she actually did carry this entire thing on her shoulders.

Side note: Troian has definitely made it seem that PLL died a painful death because Marlene was too busy for it ☕️ If she wasn’t working on other bits at such a crucial time for PLL, it could have been incredible.

The entire writers’ room thought a lot about this and part of it was actors’ availability. When you don’t own certain actors and they’re not series regulars, you never know if they’re going to be available to you. There were times when I loved the idea of Wren being A.D., Melissa being A.D., a combination of those two, but ultimately we never knew if we were going to get those people in these last 10 episodes and that sort of started discussion that A.D. really needs to be someone who’s a series regular and fans were always wanting it to be one of the girls … which makes no sense to me because they really would be torturing themselves — the mythology would never work. So that’s when we thought, well we love twins on this show and making it a twin of a PLL is sort of having your cake and getting to eat it too, so it’s almost a “pretty little liar.

I liked it, because I thought it was really true. Because of everything Spencer went through with her family, it’s more truthful for her to be at the beginning of something, tentatively moving towards being with Toby again. Everybody else was married and building a family, which also makes sense. She was a little set back by what happened, and if we had jumped to her instantly marrying Toby and running off with him, I don’t think it would have been true to the trauma she went through.
