I tried to find something about this to reblog and share, but I didn't see anything so I wanted to put this out there. More than 1000 authors have all signed a petition to stand in solidarity with trans rights and essentially condemning J.K. Rowling's TERF views.

This includes Stephen King (which coincides with his Twitter drama with Rowling from before), Margaret Atwood, Neil Gaiman, and more big names in the industry.

Look at those beautiful trans supportive authors!

hi i used to be like, a massive terf, and in the year or so since i started questioning my radfem beliefs and stopped believing in all of that i've come out as non binary (+ had a really beautiful experience w gender because of my past), found a beautiful and fulfilling queer community, and been so much happier than i ever was as a terf. i'm sorry you've got these terfs telling you you're bound to revert back, if your experience is anything like mine that is unimaginable and you're on the right path here <3

if you think about it for even like. 1 second, you would realize the arguments used against trans women by terfs is the exact same shit straights would use against lesbians (example: the idea of trans women being "predatory" to the innocent cis women, and the idea of lesbians being "predatory" to the innocent straight women,debate on whether they should be allowed in women's restrooms, ect, ect) and it really comes to show that a lot of terfs are straight, and the ones who are lesbians are really disconnected not only from their history, but the community as a whole

Just thinking about exclus people, and what weirds me out especially about them at the moment is that they come up with little phrases for the people they don’t like that are very clearly intended to be slurs, and yet that somehow doesn’t get them to consider that they’re the baddies. Like they don’t stop to consider that maybe coming up with slurs isn’t something good people do.

Swerfs be like "if you defend sex workers you must defend CP" no one defends CSEM. The reason sites like OF can't do much about it is those accounts will just comeback over and over and the videos/accounts posting CSEM have to be reported to the correct people, it's easier to stop the spread CSEM by having the perps investigated and arrested before deleting the accounts. But even then, pedos will have saved it to their computers. The amount of "savethekids" posts last year that shared links, website names, accounts and PHOTOS of sites exploiting kids shows that people don't understand that if you also have said pictures of CSEM that you're reporting on your device, you are also holding "Child porn" (it's not porn if someone is being exploited, especially a child).

Banning porn does not stop exploitation and it makes it harder for exploitation victims as they'll just be taken more underground.

Swerfs stop punishing grown women who choose to put sexy pinups online because of some creeps. (and tumblr still has CSEM on it cause it didn't get flagged and the amount of terfs that threaten kids with pedos yeah, they sure care about those kids)

This is also a lesson that needs to be learned by the fandom geeks who call themselves antis and want to ban erotic fanfic.

Some times people gotta understand that trafficking doesn't stop at unregulated porn... Drugs, abuse, parents selling their kids, abusive partners. This doesn't stop, the abuse doesn't end because porn is banned. Once people understand that not all victims are just little girls and women kidnapped off the streets, that it's also the victim's loved ones, friends and family selling them to nasty people, that people of all genders, races and ages can be victims, then maybe we can actually start to stop trafficking.

(also a lot of sex trafficking victims aren't in porn at all, the traffickers know what they're doing)
