a toothy , sharp - toothed grin flashed in her direction only widened her own smile. being a rock troll , rave's chompers had a slight point to them —— but o ' how they PALED in comparison to dandy's own set !

he behaved just about as friendly as he looked ! each word made rave giggle with excitement. " no shame in DAT ! i luuuuv to run around TOO ! " although , exploring was something she normally did with her friend eery at her side. ( eery stopped her from making so - called stupid decisions , but she liked to call them calculated risks. eery said that's not what that means. )

" iiiiiiii'm RAVE ! " the troll struck a pose , her tiny form twirling then throwing up an even tinier peace sign. " and you LOOK pretty dandy , mr. dandy ! " she giggled. " what are ya , a bergen or somethin' ? i'm a rock troll ! wait , you won't EAT me , right !!?!? bergens eat trolls ! i think. or they used to. or something. whatever . . " she trailed off slightly. a beat. " DON'T EAT ME !!!! "

Dandy at first was VERY confused as he didn't even notice the little one when she first spoke but, then he turned his head to the tree branch she was on. This was a first for him. He had no seen TINY folk in AGES. He offered a bright smile towards her though regardless especially after her questions. He chuckled at them something fierce. "Oooh, that just so happens to be how I was made darlin...I think fit me though don't ya think?" He spoke with joy as tipped his hat her. "I ain't lost cause to be lost you have to be going somewhere and darlin I am just out and about today EXPLORIN'. I am on me a little adventure and look I met someone new. I am already having great time." He commented. "What's name, Sugarcube? I am Dandy. A pleasure to meet ya."

startled by the once unnoticed presence , preston jumps slightly and peers down at the young boy. contempt pierced through his gaze. kindness wasn't something preston was keen to handing out — nor was he familiar with it. was it dirty or even wrong , per se ? well . . it was certainly the wrong answer in all circumstances. growing up , it didn't take preston long to realize that kindness was always just a pleasantry , two - faced and riddled with ulterior motives.

" it's stupid , " preston aptly corrected , turning his attention back to his phone screen. it's sad that this child's parents haven't taught him the ugly truth to life [ . . . ] he must have to learn the same way preston did when he was about this kid's age. " kind people are liars. and when you get older , you'll see how kindness doesn't exist in the real world. "

wow. rave has seen bergens and rave has seen mount rageons . . but neither of these tall creatures are nearly as staggering as THIS one before her ! when you're a troll , all tall things seem to blend together height - wise. but you know a giant when you see one !

" HAAAYYYYYY ! " rave , standing on a tree branch , called out to the stranger as if he was one of her ol' girlfriends. she waved her arm enthusiastically. his ominous appearance hardly registered in her mind as anything scary [ . . . ] rather , she was only MORE enthralled by his character.

once attention had been granted , her smile remained. " why u so spooky , mister ? ya lost ? :3 " really , he hardly seemed like he belonged here.

out of all the humanly things on earth that grossed pearl out , food would be in the top 5. ( trust , she has a list. ) sure , her physical form was capable of eating , but the entire process was still disgusting.

therefore , this place , this ' grocery store ' is pearl's worst nightmare. every single corner is stocked with putrid , artificial , packaged human food [ . . . ] if she wasn't determined to learn to take of steven for rose , she would have left this store a long time ago.

" euggh .. " as she trailed behind greg , they passed the frozen meat section , and a shudder ran up her spine at the sight. for sanctum , she looked back at her shopping list that garnet provided her. ( remind her why couldn't garnet have come instead ? ) then she looked at the cart greg was pushing . .

nothing on the list was in the cart.

" um .. greg .. " concern in her voice , pearl caught up , pointing to her list. " you know , steven is a growing boy. human children need nutrients , not , um .. this. " slop is what she wanted to call it. the cart was filled with junk food and sugars and quite literally everything the book she read told her to not feed to steven. " we need to get real food. okay ? "
