Back in January, I went out into my front yard so I could play in the snow. Perhaps it sounds dramatic but I feel as though doing this healed and restored something in me that I didn’t even realize was broken.

I started running in it and, when I laid down to make a snow angel, I felt as though a switch in me had suddenly been flipped. I quickly leapt up on all fours and attempted some quadrobics but immediately faceplanted into the snow.

Twice.

Should’ve guessed that would happen since I’m out of practice with quadrobics and, also, I was trying to do it in a foot of snow…lmto.

No worries. I just lied there for a bit on my belly, ate some of the snow, rolled around on my back, flipped some snow up with my paws, dug around in it a bit…I found myself quietly yipping from the sheer joy of it all and nearly let out a full-blown howl!

I didn’t, though, considering I was worried about disturbing the neighbors (iirc it was after 10 pm) or drawing any attention to myself. It’s why I was out playing at nighttime as opposed to in broad daylight.

My only regret is that I wasn’t able to stay out in the snow longer since I don’t have the sufficient clothing/equipment for it. The last thing I need is hypothermia cause I don’t have the fur I’m supposed to, haha!

Anyways, that’s the last time I had such an intense and overwhelmingly positive shift. I felt so alive and genuine and just…me. I feel happy and wistful tears welling up in my eyes just thinking about how euphoric the experience was. I hope I can experience something like it again sometime soon.

Like hang on, let me go run a little lap on my paws and go RAURAGHRAUGAHRAHHARAH with a stuffie in mouth real quick.
