Loup Lejeune expose à Paris

Aemergence, une exposition regroupant une sélection internationale de jeunes artistes. Loup y présentera certaines de ses pièces les plus récentes. L’événement aura lieu du 17 au 21 octobre à la Station en plein cœur du Marais, de 11h à 20h. La Station est un vaste entrepôt fraîchement réhabilité en espace d'exposition, très beau lieu à découvrir.

Opening 2nd of September 2018 at the Center of Printmaking of Belgium at La Louvière is the Apartment. It is happening during the Overprint show.

The apartment is empty, its tenant just left for a walk to relieve his frustration in the neighbouring park. There is no doubt, they saw his message. Even Messenger confirmed it. Surely they were denying him in order to silence him. Yet all the documents are ready on his desk, his thoughts are clear, everything is pinned on the walls of his apartment. For years he has been collecting the pieces, all gathered in this flat now, corresponding like a silent dialogue. His living room has become as much as a sanctuary as an archive room, collecting the proofs of the hostilities. They are like a pillow to him. If only someone could understand him, he would be able to sleep, if only for an hour. A show by Pathfinders in collaboration with @printmakingbe for the Print Union. On the picture is a mask by Enne Boi, on the back are pictures of Clement Hebert. More

This exhibition is part of a broader research project that started with the rediscovery of a map of congo, on a stone encased into a wall.

La Louvière, daughter of the Industrial Revolution, was officially born in 1869, four years into Leopold II’s reign. Sixteen years later, the king will become the sole monarch of the Congo Free State – by means of terror. Industrialisation, colonisation: progress is on the march… It is now 2018 and Leopold’s statues are still standing proudly all over Belgium. What to do with this legacy?

CONGOVERPR!NT is the start of a horizontal dialogue, visual and philosophical, around the question of this persistence - and its significance today. With works by : Alexandre Ayivi, Rolina E.
