Designed a new NPC: A classy owl named Mr. Chat (first name chit).
Growing up I played a ton of animal crossing on gamecube. Blathers was my favorite character as I always loved hearing what he had to say. It was fun to see what colorful commentary he had to offer whenever I donated a new bug or fossil, and I can honestly say I learned a lot from him.

Hi. how do you get the super cute white outline on your animations? I was trying something similar recently and ended up just applying a stroke on every frame in photoshop and i feel like that was Bad. thanks if u answer your art is amazing <3
Thanks! I render the frames with a solid white background. Then I go in with Gimp and select the background color, shrink it by a few pixels, and delete the selection. So it’s not so much I draw an outline as I don’t fully delete the negative space.
There is probably a more efficient way of doing it as I still have to go in and edit each frame, but it works well enough. Hope that helps. ^^

Name: Chimorca
HP: 4
Atk: 1
Def: 0
Description: A creature made of dreams. It is able to pull forgotten sounds from the wind and store them in its magical bell. It may not do a lot of damage, but it is able to heal other enemies in battle. So it might be a good strategy to take this guy out first.

Check out mah gam!
I’m making a game! Y’all should go check it out, there’s a free demo of the prologue on my itch.io page.
Some of you may remember a while ago I made a prototype called Paper Arthur, which was essentially a spiritual sequel to the Paper Mario series. It got a lot of really great feedback but I ultimately wasn’t happy with the engine I had made nor the way the story was being told. So I rebuilt it from the ground up, let me know what you guys think. <3

Made a model of the cute goth Aria, from the web-comic Negative Frames. I’ll probably animate her soon if I can.
I wasn’t happy with the way I currently cell-shade models and thought this would be a perfect excuse to experimented a bit with shader nodes. With some trial and error I found a way to mix two different textures together for the lights and shadows. Her model isn’t affected by lighting, but instead uses lights to tell if she should use her darker color palette or her lighter color palette for any given point on her model.
Basically her model defaults to her “shadow” textures, which are darker colors. But anywhere that she’s hit by a light source it then instead uses her “light” textures upon rendering. This system gives me complete control as I get to manually assign every color, as well as do neat tricks like with the lines in her hair.
I really like how it turned out, expect more models with this system in the future. ^ ^

Thanks for the blank check, @gamesbynick!
But joking aside, I love this cat lady’s design. Her hair was a real challenge to model but that’s what made it so fun. It kind of reminds me of Princess Peach’s hair mixed with Android 21′s.

I wanted to make a character who was simultaneously ugly and cute, so monkeys seemed like the best bet.
Say hello to Sunny, an adventurous little Simian who’s body produces an unusually high amount of metaphysical energy, making him a bit of an anomaly. What do you think of his design?.

Same Kersti and Huey anon: To end this on a positive note: I love your art and hope you have a good day.
Oh no you’re fine. I don’t hate the new games. I think they have great writing and aesthetics, I’m just disappointed about the direction the combat system took is all. And thanks, you too!

I saw your Vivian Pokedex art and I want to say I love it. But the comment "Man, you remember when Paper Mario had interesting party members? Those were good times." rubbed me the wrong way because while I agree with wanting Party Members back and wanting Paper Mario to be like TTYD again, I actually liked Kersti and Huey of Sticker Star and Color Splash.
There’s nothing wrong with Kersti and Huey, but they aren’t partners. They’re more like story guides, like you would see with the various guides in Zelda games or Cortana in Halo.
By partner I meant characters with interesting backstories, who are a part of the world when you meet them, who have their own unique abilities and attacks that help Mario fight in battle. Those were the good times.

Meet the friendliest member of the Order of Evermore, Cute Witch!
Check out our Kickstarter:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1145058734/celeste-witch
Or read more about her after the break.
A very kind-hearted witch who has a knack for winning people over with her bubbly personality. She loves cute dresses and runs a shelter in her home where she cares for sick or injured animals. After nurturing a cloud dragon back to health, the two became best friends and the creature is very protective of her.
Cute Witch dislikes heights and confrontations. As such she lets her dragon friend do most of the fighting. The dragon hides in clouds before lunging out at the player, and his wings change color depending on what attack he's going to use next.
Likes: Cute things, Animals, Dresses
Dislikes: Scary Things, Fighting, Heights

Time to meet one of the most "unique" members of the Order of Evermore, Neko Witch! Check out the Kickstarter here:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1145058734/celeste-witch
Or read more about her after the break.
Being the youngest of 9 children, Neko Witch was often left to her own devices growing up. She joined the order with the promises of community and adventure, and acts as their main financial backer. Despite this most of the other members can't stand her due to the fact that she constantly makes cat puns. Yeah, she is just the worst kind of person.
In battle Neko Witch has very low health, but she has the unique ability to revive herself when defeated. Every time she does so her speed and magic capacity increases, causing an initially easy fight to become a flurry of paw-erful attacks... Sorry, couldn't resist.

Meet the Esps! These little guys act as power ups in Celeste Witch. Check them out and more on our Kickstarter:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1145058734/celeste-witch
Or read about them here after the break:
The land of witches is a vast one; with many varied landscapes to traverse. Throughout all these lands you will find odd little creatures called Esps. They are believed to be the physical embodiment of magic itself. These friendly little fellows tend to live social lives and are typically curious towards humans. The Order of Evermore, however, has made a bad habit of imprisoning Esps to harness their magic.
Celeste can find captured Esps on her journey. Freeing one will have it join her for the rest of the level, shooting enemies and acting as an extra hit if needed. There's also rumor of an Esp city, where travelers can trade in special medals for rare power ups.
