I get to be more free as an adult than I ever did as a child and I think more kids need to know that. as a high schooler part of what made my depression so bad was being told over and over again that it was the most carefree time of my life. while I was trapped in an abusive home + amongst bullies at school + in a body that wasn’t right for me. opportunities to be carefree don’t end when you turn 18. you can be more you than ever as an adult and that’s such a gift. I know ‘it can get better’ is an annoying thing to see over and over when you’re as trapped as I was back then. and I know that if you’re still a kid you deserve to be free right this second. but it can and will get better and this is not where life stops being interesting. promise

late nights on 2014 tumblr listening to 8tracks and scrolling through random blogs used to go so hard. usually after I pirated some indie movie on my phone and searched for gif sets. maybe some big tv event happened that day so you'd see the residuals of that. emo posts. send asks. night bloggers. miss u dearly

not to love steve rogers on main but wouldnt it be iconic if steve didnt die but he still passed on the captain america mantle to sam and went and lived in a little apartment in brooklyn, and in all the upcoming marvel movies the end credits scene is just steve sam and bucky eating cereal regardless of what the movie is about. just 3 minutes of them fighting over who put the empty milk carton back in the fridge (it was bucky)

SEBASTIAN STAN as BUCKY BARNES AKA THE WINTER SOLDIER in CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER (2014)

no one requested this but here are some of my favorites details about steve and also some of the many reasons i love him:

1. his baby shoes and baby picture in the museum exhibit from tfatws. i know EVERYONE was a baby, but having evidence steve in fact was one too makes my heart melt and so does the comparison of his tiny shoes and big ones being side by side.

2. him writing his lines for the USO show on the back of his shield to help him memorize them. ‘girls’ ‘cap’ … he’s so cute.

3. him cupping bucky’s face when he finds him at azzano. it is public knowledge i am a stevebucky enthusiast but even if i wasn’t … the tenderness and easiness of touch is so sweet ☹️.

4. him clearing the howlies’ glasses away from them in the bar scene when he goes to tell the bartender they want another round. he wasn’t even asked to … he’s just that helpful and polite with his friends.

5. i know this is a tumblr post that has been floating around forever but the fact steve wears converse … again: a common trait, but somehow even cuter when it comes from him.

6. his little ‘rogers’ nametag on his uniform 😭 as if people don’t know EXACTLY who wears that suit.

7. him wearing CKs with his stuffy khakis and too tight t-shirts <3.

8. the arm scar he has that the serum canonically left untouched. proof that steve rogers can indeed scar, just like bucky barnes. the serum didn’t make him imperfect or invincible after all.

9. him being the one to provide first-aid to clint on the jet in aou … using the nursing skills his mama probably taught him to take care of his teammate like the kindhearted man he is.

10. his blue waterbottle with the sippy straw he brings to meetings and carries around the compound :).

the thing about captain america the first avenger is that it tries really hard to sell the idea of Bucky being a macho womanizer. Too bad they cast Sebastian Stan, the master of sad longing gazes you'd normally only ever see in eastern european gay porn.

Bucky finally getting his own theme song in Thunderbolts* means so much to me. For the past decade the only theme we had to associate him with was the Winter Solider theme. One that invokes such an incredible amount of dread and fear. It’s clearly a villain theme. It’s not even his, either. Now, finally, Bucky has his very own theme song. It’s beautiful. It’s orchestral. It’s dramatic. It’s a hero theme. It’s not the Winter Soldier anymore, It’s Bucky! He finally gets to be his own person.

i actually need to know people's thoughts on this because at least in my experience the answer to this has drastically changed since i was on tumblr in the 2010s and its driving me fucking insane

*im talking about fandom takes specifically. not someone being horribly evil about a real-life issue or or blatantly factually incorrect. literally just harmless fandom disagreements or differing interpretations of a text/character/etc.
