Life has been ✨a lot✨ this week, but I'm glad I can still provide some meme goodness. That said, I could resist the siren call of angst no longer, but I have at least hidden them beneath the cut 🥳

there’s all this pressure that the younger years will be the best ones of our life… I didn't have this opportunity, I'm trans. I’ve spend all those years trying to figure out what was ‘wrong’ with me. And if I can only expect that from now on things will just go downhill, no wonder that i have such bad depression and no will to live…

My 20s have been the loneliest era in my life. I am surrounded by people but not connecting with anyone. Everyone is living their own lives while I am still waiting for mine to start. I feel lost between what I should be feeling and how I actually feel.

Remus: just because I'm trans doesn't mean everybody can ask invasive questions like 'how are you?' and 'what have you been up too lately?'

Every trans representation I saw in the media had that image of the person in front of the mirror seeing themself as the gender they identify with even before the realisation they were trans.
This was not my experience — and for years I thought that because of that I couldn't be trans. But still, my relationship with the mirror wasn't a nice one. I used to blame that on my weight, my acne, and every piece of myself that didn't look like the perfect woman I thought I should be.
Now that I allowed myself to know who I truly am, things had changed. It's kind of different from what movies make it look like, but yes, it's so much easier to look into the mirror when you know what to look for. I haven't started medically transition yet, and dysphoria hits hard sometimes, but just the understanding that it's a man I'm looking at in the mirror and not a broken woman puts my heart and mind at ease.
"The happiest man on earth would be able to use the Mirror of Erised like a normal mirror, that is, he would look into it and see himself exactly as he is."

Sirius: Remus? What are you doing?
Remus: I’m trying to find out who designed the cover art for this book!
Sirius: ...why
Remus: Because it is HIDEOUS and I want to burn the designer over a fire fueled by their own book.

The 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s seem to have all separate, unique personalities, but these last 17 years seem to just be one big chunk of time that has no significant meaning.

Remus Lupin being ftm trans just makes sense, hear me out:
•His werewolf scars being a metaphor for top surgery scars
•His lycanthropy being a metaphor for being trapped in the wrong body
•His ‘monthly problem’ because he still has a menstrual cycle as a trans man
•His name meaning ‘Wolf Wolf’ because he chose the name Remus himself

ok i don’t how to state this coherently but in the goblet of fire it is said that students were behind on defensive spells because they spent so much time studying magical creatures with remus and i feel like that is very revealing. remus wanted to focus on making his students understand creatures and beings that were different from themselves instead of just making them memorize how to kill things and defend themselves. his mode of teaching was sociological and scientific rather than militaristic. like the ultimate defense against the dark arts is empathy and curiosity. i’m. i love him.
