the first day of a new month, a sunday. taking my time to organize, journal and plan everything for the next few weeks. received the deadline for my thesis yesterday via mail. starting my new job tomorrow. grateful for changes. these are growing pains.

5/100, 20.02.2020 after finishing up some minor tasks, I finally get to sit down and work on my thesis. received a phone call today that finally confirmed my enrollment into law school this year! super excited to start this new chapter, moving and all that good stuff that is to come. for now, I’m enjoying this frothy coffee and my new calendar that I got yesterday. (moleskine, weekly calendar, a long-time favorite of mine 📖)

Spent half of the morning making flashcards for my clinical psychology exam (which is in July), I can‘t bother studying for my sociology exam yet, but I can‘t stand not being productive, so I‘m studying for clinical psychology instead :D I hope I can force myself to look at my sociology notes though.. I‘m going to watch Call me by your name tonight and I‘m really excited!

Since I started learning Chinese mandarin I was also curious about Chinese literary works and I picked up Home Remedies by Xuan Juliana Wang. It’s a  collection of twelve short stories which capture a slightly different perspective of Chinese millennial’s experiences as young and reckless immigrants, uncertain about their future, identity and belonging. I enjoyed this books so much ! I look forward to reading more of her works in the future. Actually I should’ve finished it sooner but it turned out as my first read of 2020.

happy new year everyone! i know it's a little late but i hope you all had fun, one of my big new years resolutions is to read more and become more educated, i've been very lucky and had access to education and have been encouraged to read and learn but i feel like theres no limit to new things you can learn. this led me to buying this brilliant book of latin phrases which i hope to learn and quote pretentiously! also in this pile of books is "if we were villains" which i finished yesterday and...i am devastated, i cried and cried, i loved it so much just!!!! please read it, anyway, thankyou if you read all my silly ramblings and have a lovely 2020!
