Restless Dreams: Under Reconstruction!
These are all the changes I made to the Restless Dreams:
-Crafting system removed -Hunger/Thirst system removed -Both Renn(s) are now equal in term of combat abilities (before, the future Renn is faster and the present Renn is stronger) -Firearms are more effective now; they have better damage and bullets are a lot more common. They are also your main weapon now instead of melee weapon -The firearm attack delays have been increased and it will be reduced over time as the game progresses -Instead of instant reloading, Renn will reload in real time (but you still have to use the item from the menu screen like usual). The reload speed will increase as the game progresses -Stats (damage, HP, etc) are now simplified (eg. Renn has 100 HP before, now it’s simplified to 8 points) -Firearms can be upgraded (firepower or capacity) by using a certain item -Difficulty setting is removed as the game has been nerfed like, a lot -Enemies (except bosses) are now equal in term of combat abilities (present and future enemies have no stats difference) -Adrenaline now doesn’t increase Renn’s defense point

Restless Dreams: Rewritten?
Recently something has crossed my mind while review the chapters of Restless Dreams. “Is this what I want it to be?” With that, I may or may not decide whether to rewrite the entire main story mode (Renn’s story) into one of the early concepts or not.
The early concepts for Restless Dreams are that it is going to be a Psychological Horror mixed with Lovecraftian elements (rather than focusing on Lovecraftian Horror) mixed with classic Survival Horror gameplay. These concepts was scrapped because I didn’t want the game to be short and look similar to the games that were released at the time I planned the concepts.
Combat is still prominent in the early concepts. Only without the hunger/thirst system and freeroaming sessions. Instead of “Future Renn”, there’s “Dream Renn”. There are only 4 ~ 6 chapters as opposed to the 8 chapters of the current version. There’ll be no difficulty setting as the game’s even more story focused and combats are definitely less challenging while also providing as obstacles.
Basically the major changes are Renn’s character and story mode, which will be entirely rewritten while Ryuu and Kayako’s story mode remain untouched. It’ll be gloomier, more serious to the point where there’s barely any joke at all.
But of course, I’m not gonna make this decision in a short time. It just happened to cross my mind and made me rather worried since the current RD is completely different than what I want it to be.

Video
So I made three videos on how to defeat the first second boss of Restless Dreams. Two are done in Survival Horror difficulty in order to display the actually-fair difficulty of the game :D

Like I said in the other thread, the gameplay. It’s the thing that makes them unique IMO. It’s the thing that defines a game itself. Plot is also an important thing, of course, but we’re not talking about novels and movies here, we’re talking about games.
What is the most important aspect of an RPG Maker Game?
What satisfies you and makes you say, “This is a good game”? NOTE: This is after you are done playing the game!
The story? The art? The gameplay? The maps? What?

The gameplay, of course!
I really like a game where you don’t simply do fetch quests and solve puzzles (no matter how great the puzzles are designed).
Take Uri’s games for example, she managed to put in several hide-run and combat sequences which are pretty rare in horror-themed RPG Maker games. And she did them nicely that the combats are pretty much comparable to the classic survival horror’s (early RE and SH games).
and...how do I know the gameplay before even playing it? Of course, YouTube and some other review sites/blogs!
What makes you download THAT Rpg Maker Game?
What draws you to a project? What makes you want to play that game? To pick it up, download, and play? NOTE: This is what makes you WANT to play a particular game. What draws you to it? (Unrelated to your overall satisfaction of the game in the end.)
The art? The genre? Setting? Topics? Themes? Creator? What?

In case anyone is wondering...
I’m still working on my project although at a very slow pace....blame Overwatch (don’t even bother about asking about my ID since I suck at playing teamwork-based games), kickboxing (my ultimate hobby) and my Korean buddies (karaoke, cheap-but-fancy dinner, church-life, etc) XD
Also because of JoJo.
I kinda miss the day where I got to work on my project like at least 2 hours a day since it felt closer to the characters that way. Not gonna lie, I miss Kayako and Ryuu (my favorite characters!). I really wanna finish Renn’s 8 chapter story as soon as possible so that I can get to work on their own chapters.
I hope you guys understand my situation. I wish nothing but for you guys to have GREAT DAYS!

Hello, I'm playing the demo and I'm on chapter 1, but I'm stuck. What should I do after I activate the second generator and the door in the bloody room gets locked?
There’s a passage at the west part of the parking lot which is unlockable by using the security office’s computer :D

Is it weird that living in South Korea for 7 months suddenly makes me want to make a sim dating RPG game with Korean-tropes?

Hey got a question, i died several times when the creature chased me at the train station. I hide in the locker but the creature keep finding me. Is it the matter of time to hide or am i missing something?
It’s the matter of where you hide. The sofas at the middle of the room are the right ones :D

Hey I got a problem when the creature started to chase me after the room with train miniature. When i hid in the locker, the creature keep finding me and i died several times. Is it the matter of the time to hide or am i just missing something?
Hide under the sofas which are located at the center of the room. The creature won’t be able to find you by doing so :D

Hi, I'm kinda a little bit frustrated with the save system because I died too times and it took me so long to get back to where I died and I keep dying.
Try playing it at lower difficulty: Casual or Amateur mode.
