shoutout to marx for achieving the goal that every young left-wing theorist has for themselves: being dead.

for anyone who needs to hear it: desiring sex doesn’t make your attraction “dirty” or “sinful,” and sexual attraction doesn’t mean you don’t respect or love the person. It’s okay and even beautiful to want sex with someone, and i’m sorry oversexualization and infantalizing fetishization has made it seem like any queer relationship is either soft and chaste or sexy and taboo. You deserve to love someone and have sex with them and love having sex with them, if that’s what you desire.

i cannot stress this enough, having grown up under the roof of abusers who made their whole living off making and designing advertisements: advertisers are not quirky, or your friends. they are psychologically manipulating you with a bombardment of consistent messages that aim to undermine your conscious thought and influence you into admitting, on the tiniest level, that “yeah that was a good concept” or “oh that looks appealing”, and if they achieve that, they’ve won. because you see that ad, that brand, that corporate facade enough times, that admission worms a little deeper into your brain, subconsciously, and you don’t notice it til 4 months later you’re seriously considering looking for that product or service you Really Didn’t Want To.
trying to fight advertising in your own mind is a neverending slew of psychological warfare. i am not being hyperbolic
