Asteria drew her hood over her as she observed the stronghold from a distance. For a while, she had been doing her mission, writing down everything about the stronghold she could see from their outside, but now it was time for the dangerous part.
It was time to go inside and learn more about the person who guarded the thorned blade. After a month of frequent daily (and nightly) observations, she had noticed they briefly came out in the night, looked around, and then withdrew back into their lair.
Opening her satchel, she took out a potion of invisibility and another potion which she had carefully crafted over the years she had spent on the road. It made you have no scent, which would be useful for the amount of wolves guarding the stronghold from the exterior. Looking over their supplies she had brought, she picked out only the utmost essential ones. The book Prometheus had given her, her weapons and shield in case of emergencies, dynamite if things got messy, and ten golden apples.
Taking in a shaky breath, she cautiously began making her way towards the stronghold.

The guard hissed in pain, shaking their head as if to clear it. Then they began to laugh.
“Well played, young one. The Thorned Blade answers to you now.”

The wolf guard sneered. “Have it your way then. Dead meat.” They attacked, swinging the blade with the intent to kill.

“What. Are you doing.” The person’s voice was low and quiet. Their question wasn’t really a question- Asteria had been caught red-handed.
Or so she thought.
“Are you. Looking for this?” They summoned a sword. The sword. The Thorned Blade appeared in their hand. Asteria looked down at the sword she was holding, only to see that while it was the actual sheath of the Thorned Blade, the sword inside was unenchanted iron. Worthless.
The true sword was a deadly, shimmering netherite blade. And it now stood between Asteria and escape.

There was a short tunnel leading into a large library. From there, three exits on the first floor lead in three different directions. There were yet more wolves patrolling the library, but they were easy enough to avoid. The library was full of ancient scrolls and books, maps hung on the wall with weathered paper that smelled of saltwater.
Each exit had a carving over the door. The left exit was marked with a wolf head- perhaps it lead to the wolves’ sleeping area, some sort of training room, etc. The right exit was marked with a carving of an eye of ender. The middle exit was marked again with the Thorned Blade carving.

The room was empty other than the carvings on the walls and the lone table, which held something like a shrine with a wolf statue on it. The approaching footsteps, muffled by a wall, stopped long enough for stone to scrape aside as a secret door opened.
A figure stepped through- a stocky person wearing a wolf’s head mask and a long fur cloak. They glanced around the room, but it appeared empty. Coming to a decision, they closed the secret door, revealing to Asteria where the button was hidden in the wall carvings, and strode across the room to exit through the door that had closed behind Asteria as she’d entered.

The maze of traps ended in a door with a complicated-looking puzzle lock. Hardly impossible, but it would take a couple minutes to solve. And when the door opened, it would be LOUD. Asteria would have to run and hide, quickly, without knowing the layout of the room beyond or what was in it.

Who puts the real entrance in the very center indeed? Someone who knows how to double bluff. The central tunnel is absolutely crawling with traps. And creepers. And wolves. So. Many. Wolves. With an invisibility potion, Asteria should be able to avoid the mobs just fine, but the tripwire traps, pressure plates, weight-detecting, and pufferfish-triggered traps will be harder to avoid.

The stronghold was well defended- being mostly underground helped, as did the wolf pack guarding any entrance and corner. But they couldn’t stop what they couldn’t smell or see, so Asteria was allowed to sneak past with no interruptions.
The front door was locked, but it wasn’t a particularly difficult lock to pick. The stronghold’s owner put a lot of faith in the wolf guards.

Prometheus sat at the large wooden dining table, alone. A few candles flickered in the corners of his vision, and a lantern hung above to keep mobs from spawning, but otherwise the room was gloomy. Spread on the table before him was a deck of cards. The deck of cards. The Dread Cards. Achilles had been the first to complete their mission, and Prometheus now waited for the others to return.
The cards on the table were unassuming. The front sides looked like any deck of cards: four suites, numbered two to ten and jack to ace. The deck was missing the two joker cards at the moment. It was the sigils on the back that interested Prometheus the most.
The backs of the cards were a deep midnight blue. In the center of each was a pale yellow rose, with thorny vines curled around it. He traced the edges of the drawing, humming thoughtfully. Then he gathered the cards in a swiping motion and replaced them in the little cardboard packaging. He'd study them more later... Maybe when he had more of the items. For now... He could really use some sleep.

“I will.” He probably wouldn’t. He hated the concept of IOU’s- especially undefined ones. It often didn’t end well for the person owing it.
“Good luck on your endeavors.” He stepped through the portal, stumbling at the brief sense of vertigo as he passed between realms. He was once again on Overworld ground. It was nighttime.
He barely waited for Achilles to emerge before taking off into the air and circling the portal before vanishing into the night.
Prometheus flew up to the opening in the fortress wall, setting Achilles on the ledge before landing himself, once again hiding his wings to fit through the gap. It was a bit easier to fly from a standstill than to reverse a freefall.

He hopped down as well, landing softly. “If you’re ready for one. I try to leave enough space in between missions for a break or vacation if there’s somewhere you want to be.”
Also he had to think of something. He only had one piece of the puzzle, and his plans required all four.

“Suit yourself.” He was actually a bit worn out from flying so much in the still air.
“I’m probably moving bases again after this, so once we’re out of the portal I’ll be off in a random direction. Now that your mission’s done, where’re you headed?”

"Alright. Don't let me get sniped by a blaze," he said with a chuckle.
He kept close to the wall as he approached the chest, double checking for traps or mobs nearby before opening it. Gold, a diamond, coal, and- "Oh, hello." A fire charge. He always needed more of these.
When he'd looted the chest, he darted back over to Achilles. "Let's get out of here. I'd rather not test our luck after that incident."

Note
We never actually wrote it unfortunately, it was just a concept that was brainstormed.
AUs my beloved
The only one I've made was a co op with someone on discord and it was an arctic crew + wilbur fix it fic that we brainstormed the days before and right after the wilbur revived reveal
Essentially we wanted to repair everyone's relationships and improve communication in ways that would actually make sense for their characters and we figured it out somehow XD
YES YES I DO THAT TOO!!! fix it fics are so fucking good,

"Whelp. It was worth double checking, I think."
He glanced down the hall in the other direction, spotting a chest. "We might as well raid the place, since we're here..."

first drawing of prometheus! just a concept rn but i’m pretty happy with it

in-game armour would translate to boots and a creeper head (plus elytra when his wings are out)
