i'm so obsessed with brennan's interpretation of charisma for an extremely autistic-coded character being that evan gives up the anxiety about fitting in, he stops masking, and instead he leans into his blunt, matter-of-fact nature, and that serves him SO MUCH BETTER in social situations than constantly apologizing for being different
edit: going back to the previous AP, aabria pitched basically this exact idea to brennan so she should get credit too

I relate to Evan so much. He’s honestly some of the best autistic rep out there, entirely unintentionally
As an autistic guy I appreciate Jammer (and by extension all of Evan's friends). I appreciate that he can look at the weirdest guy he's ever met who's never had a friend in his life and be like "Don't even worry about it, that's my guy Evan. He's just chilling" while Evan is staring unblinking at a wall. I love to imagine a world where even the Dark Lord can have people who are like "That's my Bro. He gets possessed by demons sometimes and accidentally summons blood and/or shadow monsters. But it's chill, we fight 'em and then they go away *shrugs*."

My favourite genre of gay people is "They didn't have bdsm sex onscreen but, bdsm elements are always lurking in the corner and haunting the narrative through thinly veiled visual metaphorical implication."

Autistics who use precise language are getting TORN APART in ao3 comment sections over suspicions of being AI. “No human being talks like this.” Man, autistics have been getting compared to robots about as long as robots have existed, fuck you very much!!

Also a lot of the time it’s really complicated.
Like I feel viscerally emotionally connected to bugs (and most animals really) and will feel physically threatened when I see that but I have pretty low one-on-one empathy with people. Like I care but I struggle to actually feel how you feel. And I have zero ability to suspend my disbelief. I also don’t understand risk to my own body. But I do have hyper empathy for other animals idk it’s weird
"All autistics have low empathy" - This statement is wrong.
"Autistics having low empathy is a MYTH, we actually have HIGH empathy!" - This statement is ALSO wrong.
Autistics can have low empathy, they can have high empathy, they can have learned empathy. The myth would be that all autistics only experience one end of the empathy spectrum.
In spreading around misinformation that autistics actually have high empathy, you are disregarding the autistics who do have low empathy. And vice versa.
#like I’m a vegetarian bc of the stress it causes me#I like don’t judge people at all it’s just— I feel it in my bones#and like I 100% have hyper empathy with arthropods like I get it man. like I feel like I’m feeling what they’re dealing with#I once sat with a wasp while it died in the snow bc I felt it. but like I completely miss when other people are upset#actually autistic#diagnosed autistic#autism#bugs#like I get it man that’s me right there

Robot disabilities. Robot who charges slowly and loses power incredibly fast and is always tired. Robot with malfunctioning lenses and can’t process visual information properly. Robot that can’t process anything too large and at a fast rate or else they’ll shut down. Robot with limbs screwed on too loose/just can’t attach correctly, so if they’re not careful they fall out. Robot disabilities,,,

As Elon Musk cements his place in history as a fascist tech overlord and the rest of the world looks at us in horror, I really do want to reiterate what I feel will be lost to the history books
Nearly everyone in america has thought and continues to think that Elon is very cringe.

It amazes me how the National Park Service is the most vocal department against Fascism. Even the Democrats are a mumble when compared to these park rangers' adamant denouncement and exposing of this administration. Support our bravest federal workers who keep our world one worth living in.
