Bitches will point at the fictional m/f couple and be like "Umm, actually, they are clearly siblings coded" and/or "this is clearly a mlm/wlw solidarity" and/or "she is a strong independent woman and she need or man" and/or "I just think we should focus more on represanting male/female friendships"
and the couple in question? most likely interracial
Sometimes I wonder if Everlark would have been this beloved had they cast an indigenous american acteress to play Katniss

crazy to me how anaxa is so easily ready to sacrifice parts of himself for the sake of his alchemical research to the truth, whereas su absolutely hates sacrifice. however, they are Much more similar than one may think.
MEI had offered for su to take the lead of project stigma, aka their most dangerous project, yet also the one with the highest success rate outcome. su accepted even though he hoped it would never have to be initiated - because he hates sacrifice. project stigma would wipe out everyone who wasn't immune to the honkai, effectively killing off a ginormous majority of the human population.
su hates sacrifices, but he has such a savior complex to the point where he's Also entirely willing to be self-sacrificial.
when him and kevin fought within the seed of sumeru, he was willing to put his life on the line to stop kevin. he KNEW he was so much weaker than kevin yet still made an attempt to try to fight him to stop him from initiating project stigma. su did it out of love for humanity and love for kevin and MEI.
they trusted and loved him too - had they not, then MEI would have never placed her trust in him to carry out project valuka and project regulator. to trust him to bring kevin back to his senses if he ever strayed from the right path. because they both knew kevin would become so much more distraught and tired of everything than he already was, after MEI's passing. had they not, then kevin would have killed him during their fight within the seed of sumeru. he would not have thrown su out of the seed and told him to continue with valuka, letting himself sink into the sea of quanta.
if su did not love, he would not have cried with MEI when he made the promise to her. if su did not love, he would have never regularly checked on kevin while the man was in the sea of quanta. if he never loved, he would have died without holding the memory of him and kevin from their high school days close to his heart.
anaxa has sacrificed his left eye, his heart, his blood, and probably much more for the sake of his objectives. from trying to see his deceased sister one last time, to carving his own heart out to be able to guide castorice on her own path, to reveal the truth of the world's fundamentals to be able to leave behind answers for phainon who is destined to bear the weight of the new world, for his teachings to leave such an impact on hyacine and phainon, as if he were still guiding them despite not being alive anymore. everything was out of love and the belief he had put in humanity.
if anaxa did not love and believe, he would have never tried to rush back to his sister. if he did not love and believe, he would have never told families of the passing of their loved ones after we arrived back to okhema from the grove. if he did not love and believe, he would not have put his faith into castorice and pushed her to find the truth. if he did not love and believe, he would not have trusted phainon to be able to remind him of his past life in the next life, in case he himself couldn't retrieve his own memories.
when we see the flashback of empedocles and anaxa talking in the 3.2 quest, empedocles tells anaxa to promise to never harm himself again, to not do anything taboo again such as sacrifice parts of himself for his research. and yet, as we clearly know, that promise did not stand, and it is because he loves too much.
su was against project stigma, never kevin himself. anaxa was against the flame-chase journey, not hyacine, or castorice, or phainon, or any of the other heirs (not even aglaea, whom he didn't see eye to eye with because of differing beliefs).
both su and anaxa love so much, and yet one of the only ways they know how to show it is through sacrifice

Not only she is underappreciated in universe but she underappreciated and overheated out-of-universe also. Most fans either see her solely as Kevin's girlfriend or hate her for getting in the way of Kevin x Su and Kevin x Elysia. She is is either mischaracterized, villainize or erased.
Dumping all my thoughts on Dr MEI here because where else can i go
The fact that MEI single handedly almost saved humanity from the honkai, but also brought upon its destruction to the PE. The power of honkai grows along with human technology, so her contributions for battling honkai made its destruction so much worse. Her existence itself was such a big driving force for the honkai like how do you cope with the fact that you're the reason for the apocalypse. It goes so bad that the moment people from the CE uses MEI's weapons the will of honkai pulls out judgement-class honkai beasts.
She had to constantly think of better ways to overcome each herrscher. 8 HERRSCHERS were brought down under her supervision, each of them getting exponentially stronger after the other and this was in the span of a few months at most. She just wanted to secure a future for humanity and her boyfriend. And what does she get? Being one of the the only people left of the human race, overworking herself as the honkai disease slowly and painfully kills her, not being able to touch her boyfriend, entrusting a friend to imprison said boyfriend in fear that he may cause mass genocide, the list goes on.
Honestly i dont think she's appreciated enough. Really really hope that she met the will of honkai after her death because if SU gets to play chess with god then MEI should be allowed to slap god in the face.

One of my coworkers complained to HR that I was being racist, not because of anything I said to or about him, but because I said to a different coworker that I was excited about an upcoming book with a setting based on my heritage, and he didn't like the way I was talking about the book because he thought one sentence was reductionist. I don't know how to approach this nonsense because he always likes to position himself as the final arbiter on what is and isn't racist about every culture, and I'd love to point out that policing the way I talk about my own heritage is extremely racist, but on the other hand he's a huge asshole and I don't want him to know anything about me.

Butchers shop anon again. Cashiers got lectured on "not looking busy enough" because apparently customers were complaining. I'm sorry? That our days have been slow? Also we're not allowed to lean on the counter per word of the owner, because it means we "aren't working". Hopefully gonna be looking into a new job not in retail or service because health problems have been acting up and I've been in a lot of pain. And that's ignoring the illegal shit going on at the job. Had a customer recently tell me she "feels bad for the service industry" because they're losing people. I don't. Have you ever worked, lady???

Snowbarries are hilarious to me. Always wishing Iris dies or that Barry divorces her??? Like are you dumb??? Barry didn’t want y’all girl in season one do you think he’ll want her seven seasons later??
Talking about how Iris ‘is the worst character’ like she isn’t the only one with actual development over the seven seasons??? You ain’t see Caitlin and Frost bringing nothing to the table except the same plot??

‘Iris is a bully’ or ‘she doesn’t care about Barry’ or ‘Barry and Caitlin have more in common’ who got the diamond rings? Who got the four weddings? Who got the three proposals? Who got the two kids? Who got the vow renewal? Exactly. THINK SNOWBARRIES THINK

‘She sucks’ okay then explain why those two episodes she wasn’t in felt dry?

Iris West-Allen is the best thing to ever happen to Barry Allen and he’s said so himself and that’s on The Gold Standard and being The Main Girl.

I've seen people wonder why Barry is always so obsessed with the future. Why can't he be happy in the present? I think folks misunderstand Barry and what drives him.
S1-2 Barry was driven by his past. Barry still struggled with his mother's death. Barry wanted to catch Thawne. Barry wanted to get his dad out of prison. No that Barry never thought about the future but that Barry wasn't truly happy either. Then his dad is released from prison. He's moving back. Iris wants to give them a shot. Everything seems perfect. Then Zoom kills Henry sending Barry in a tailspin.
Barry finally finds some happiness, he and Iris are finally together. Then he finds out Savitar is going to kill Iris. This is the first time we see Barry obsessed with the future. But the reason Barry is obsessed with the future is because he was finally thinking of his.
After 20 yrs Barry is happy. Barry knows all too well how happiness can be snatched right out from under you. He panics at the slightest hint that his happiness will be taken from him. That's why he's panicked over the thought of something happening to Nora

I’m rewatching S1 of the Flash and one of the things that stood out to me about CS is how easily she would give up on Ronnie. Ronnie is supposed to be her OTP yet she was constantly giving up on the rls or not fighting for him or moving on fr Ronnie to someone else. This is even more bothersome watching it a second time around. In comparison, Iris is ride or die for her OTP. She would never give up or move on fr B. Also she’s constantly doubting people esp B abilities in S1
One of the things I find frustrating about canon Caitlin versus a lot of her so-called fandom’s off-base interpretation of her character is that canon Caitlin is very pessimistic, while her fandom constantly wants to paint her as super sweet to the point of saccharine and constantly supportive. The latter interpretation is just untrue, and that’s fine, but her fandom wants her to be someone she so clearly is not. She always has been pessimistic, and in season 1 that quality is one we see in her over and over again. She also dislikes things which disrupt her status quo, so even though technically her life has changed drastically since the eruption of the Particle Accelerator, we still keep seeing her push back against further change. Like it’s really telling when she tells Cisco that she would have rather Ronnie died than turn up as he did (on fire), which definitely gave me pause, because in my mind it’s like, well the love of your life just came back, wouldn’t you want him back in any capacity?? Caitlin just didn’t believe Ronnie could be helped, because of how fervently she is against change, and so she just was unwilling to fight for him, and the thing is, in a weird way, I wish the show would focus on these character flaws of hers and that she's constantly second-guessing people and doubting them (Caitlin only believes in people when it’s comfortable for her to believe in them, if you’ve noticed, with the exception of Cisco, whom she constantly does actually believe in, no matter what). And as you said, therefore, her initial reactions to Ronnie’s return and even after he and Stein were stabilized can be quite jarring, but I also think this is who Caitlin is, and the narrative, itself, can’t even accept what it’s written (you see this a lot in later seasons, as Caitlin really comes to personify the Moral Dissonance trop to a T). What’s really bothersome to me is that her fandom just overlooks this about her, because it doesn’t fit with the whole, “she’s so sweet” narrative they try to spin??? And a lot of it is the show’s fault, as well, because Caitlin could have been a solid character, if the show accepted the flaws they wrote into her character and didn’t constantly treat her with kid gloves in later seasons, while also having her become increasingly problematic and the show refuses to address this.
In relation to Iris, she just has a completely different personality. Iris is always very optimistic, and she’s also a fighter. So she constantly believes there’s another way; she’s constantly fighting to save the people she loves, and that’s why she doesn’t just accept inevitability, and it’s also why people like Eva can’t get in her head and turn her against Barry and Wally and Joe.
The thing is, there’s never been a need to compare Iris and Caitlin, but the latter’s fandom constantly mischaracterizes both of them to vilify Iris in order to prop up Caitlin, and it’s exhausting. The fact of the matter is, in season 1, I never thought Caitlin was quote-on-quote sweet, but I also didn’t think she needed to be at all. I do wish the narrative owned the Caitlin that they originally wrote, though, and didn’t constantly coddle her, because that’s the biggest problem with her character: she really did some terrible things and exhibited some seriously alarming views and tendencies from as early as season 2 and of course onwards, which if you think about it, her season 1 characterization did lay the groundwork for all of this, but the show refused to even call her out. Because the show decided they didn’t want to her to be a morally dubious character, even though she 100% is and that’s who she originally was premised to be (because they wanted to tease her potentially villainous, frosty future in season 1, while crafting it in a way that would be tragic, but then completely overturned this to absolve Caitlin completely).
I also think it’s a problem that the show can’t write the vast majority of white female characters without having them embody really problematic tropes that constantly showcase them behaving in ways that demonstrate their blatant disregard towards the livelihoods of characters of color, especially women of color, but we’re still expected to see them as heroes or as otherwise deserving of redemption arcs.
