Strength Testing at ProMOTION
We had a bit of fun in the clinic this week practicing with our Activforce 2 Dynamometer. This handy piece of equipment allows us to quickly and accurately assess your muscle strength in the clinic setting.
As physiotherpists we know the importance of helping you keep your muscles strong in order for you to maintain a healthy lifestyle!

Clinical Pilates Vs Classic Pilates - What is the difference?
As many of you know our ProMOTION Pilates Classes are all taught by experienced Chartered Physiotherapists. This means that we can modify the Classic Pilates exercises depending on the specific needs of the individual attending the class. They may have an injury or health condition that may prevent them doing some of the exercises. A modified version of the exercise is then required. Equally they may have no injuries or health conditions and do not require any modifications. This modification of the Classic Pilates exercises is often referred to as "Clinical Pilates". Chartered Physiotherapists with additional Pilates Training are in a great position to teach Clinical Pilates as they have a wide, in depth knowledge of injury and musculoskeletal conditions.Claire, one of our experienced Physiotherapists and Pilates instructors has written a blog on this topic which you can read all about here:https://www.promotionphysiotherapy.co.uk/.../differences.../ #clinicalpilates #physioledpilates #pilatesedinburgh
