im making this post to support the fundraiser of ahmed @yaminfamily who is very close to his goal but hasnt been making progress in the campaign lately. this is a verified campaign (264 on the vetted fundraiser list)

ahmed alanqar is fundraising for his wife and young children to escape gaza. unfortunately his old account @ahmedabuyamin was deleted by tumblr and he lost all of his followers and messages. for people who have already lost so much and are struggling to survive a genocide it is just such arbitrary cruelty to suddenly lose your main form of communication that might help you live. if you previously followed this campaign, follow their new account.

ahmed wrote in a recent post that he was almost hit by a stray bullet while in a tent with his family! so many people in gaza are living one second away from death at any time– its absolutely horrific and i really ask that people not be desensitized to these stories just because it has been going on for so long. in this same post, ahmed wonders if they will have to die in silence before someone notices them. please dont let that happen. people always think hypothetically about what they would do in times of injustice and genocide. this is something you can do. these fundraisers have the possibility of making a real difference for peoples lives. they only need to raise 9k more. please donate and if you cant, share with someone who can

I lied about a thing somewhere, I actually have two good comic ideas and it might take a bit since I want to polish one of them, so take this for now

I suppose since you asked so nicely one more tutorial thing wouldn’t hurt.

First I start with the cross line things (I’m sure they have an actual name, I just don’t know it)

The next part is harder, most of the time I just free draw the outline of the mask since I don’t know what basic shapes would make up the mask.

I then use ovals to represent where I want the eyes to be and add the mouth

After that I refine the expressions, adding tears and giving the eyes and mouth more shape.

Followed by MORE DETAIL! Essentially just adding wrinkle lines and filling in the orfaces. (Also pls ignore the face on the right, I kinda screwed it up)

As for the body, much like Zooble, I start with a sticky frame, and I make sure to make the limbs extra curvy, since Gangle is made of ribbons. Then, I add the expression and circles to represent the loops of Gangle’s body.

This next part is what I usually have trouble with, making the loops of Gangle’s body, it’s pretty hard, but making use of the circles from the previous step helps.

Next, I give the limbs ribbon detail and make sure to be mindful of where the ribbons would bend and twist.

Finally, I refine the expression Gangle’s mask, darken one side of the ribbon so there’s a distinction between the two sides, and erase some lines so it looks less messy.

Once again, sorry if this is more information than you wanted and pls take all of this with another grain of salt as I am child and still don’t know what I’m talking about. Have a nice day!

Well… I would like to keep my ankles intact

So I start with your standard asymmetrical triangle.

Next, I add a blocky Y and a kinda sideways sharp W on the top, and for the eyes I draw two differently sized circles, the one on the left overlaps the edge of the head and should be bigger than the one on the right.

After the basic shapes I add the pupils and other small details like eyelashes and stripe pattern on the antenna (by the way if your drawing a character looking straight ahead I recommend putting the pupils more on the inside of the eye near where the nose would be so it looks like their focusing on something).

Zooble (from what I’ve seen at least) usually has their upper eyelids lowered, so most expressions from them should include this, and unlike Gangle and Kinger, they have visible eyebrows.

If you want to make the emotion your conveying more intense, making use of wrinkle lines around the eyebrows and eyes can help. Also, making use of things like ears, antennas, tails or other things can help convey emotions more .

As for the body, i usually start with a triangle head with a stick body.

Next, I usually add basic shapes making up the body and limbs. I want to draw attention to the body itself, since it’s a bean I usually just draw two circles on top of each other with a curved side connecting them.

After the basic shapes, I add the details and darken some lines.

And finally, I add the last details, darken the last lines, and erase some things to make it look less messy.

Sorry if this is more info than you wanted, I got a little carried away. Also please take all of this with a grain of salt because I am a mere child and have no idea what I’m talking about.
