I totally agree with you about the romance aspect of the webtoon.

I don't think sahed likes julia romantically rn but I think he wants to communicate with her because he think she can understand him like he thinks all the members of circus are prisoners and gave tonny the role of jailer and watching everyone having fun and not realizing or even questioning the whole thing makes him feel Isolated and misunderstood. Julia is first one to question the whole thing and want to learn more about it, so he is willing to tell her "everything".

But I need to address this I think kamille need to be more understanding towards julia too, even though julia is close minded, since the starting of the story she has always tried to be a great friend, she went to circus even though doesn't wanted to go, she just go there because it was kamille's wish and julia wanted to see her happy on her birthday but kamille ditched her friend for a girl she just saw, then julia died trying to save kamille and when she entered the circus she found almost all of her life was a lie, she was confused, scared and anxious but rather than trying to patiently explain everything to julia kamille get mad and doesn't talked to her, when julia come with the idea of selling puppets at start it was good but then kamille ditched julia again, then she forgot her birthday and we also doesn't see her trying to communicate to julia about her feeling of being trapped and not wanting to marry, she judged julia on basis of her rejecting kamille's offer to go to a walk in forest in night and thought she won't understand her

Till now she has been really ungrateful friend towards julia and she doesn't communicate with her nicely even if julia got ready to do so, it feels like one sided friendship where julia is only one trying to hold the friendship together.

Gonna be honest, I will be a pretty disappointed if Julia gets a romance, specifically with Sahed.

Julia needs to unlearn the teachings of her country and settle into the stressful situation she’s been put into. I sympathize with how Julia is written to be a confused and paranoid hot head. She’s full of propaganda, and having a military father definitely reaffirmed those teachings. She loves her father, he would never misguide her. She’s never been away from the home, the place she was taught how great it was.

And now suddenly everything she was taught is a lie? It’s a lot to take in, along with the fact that you’re literally dead and soul bound to a fucking circus. She’s just been dropped into it all, literally and figuratively. Luckily, we see that Julia is becoming more and more skeptical as she learns about the situation with both the circus and her government. Even questioning “Is this right?” “Is this wrong?”

But all of this amounting to “She changed in the name of love” would make it feel really weak and take away from that potential development. She should be a better person for herself and her general relationships with other people, specifically with Kamille who felt trapped by the things Julia praises her country for.

Also I don’t even know (at this point in the story, as I write this) how Sahed would even reciprocate possible feelings for Julia. I’d just rather Julia and Kamille be able to trust each other as friends again, without Kamille having to hide her true feelings from somebody she wants to share them to and Julia being so judgmental and close-minded. If we can do that much then romance is open season since she’s not changing for a man but for peace of mind and her best friend that she clearly adores.

What are the chances a character we’ve already met will be in the NEXT series of Elfhame books that Holly is writing? If my theory about The Folk of the Earth (the Unseelie/Seelie courts, Tithe series), the Folk of the Air (the High Court, the stories of Jude/Cardan, etc), and the Folk of the Water (upcoming! With all the foreshadowing of Undersea troubles) is correct, could we have met one of the main characters already?? Since we met Cardan in Tithe (he was the prince from the High Court who was overjoyed by all the wine at Roiben’s coronation 🥹)…

Are we going to focus on the royals?? So is it a Nicasia story? Loana? Jack of the Lakes?!?! Someone new??

I see people saying that it makes no sense for Felix to seem unaffected/uninterested in Rime (in Felix's route) even though he spent 5 years trying to get him back, and I have to disagree.

I personally think that the whole point of his route is helping him move on. Felix clinged to Rime for so long that he put Rime through hell, affectively turning Rime into a completely different person. He even says "That abomination isn't Rime. Rime was good and kind..." Now that Rime is back, Felix is forced to accept that the Rime he knew isn't coming back.

Not to mention that as he and MC are getting closer, he and Rime are growing further apart. Felix's lingering feelings for Rime and what they used to have seem to be overshadowed by his relationship with MC-- Felix has found love again in someone else. (You can see this during a paid option in which MC asks Felix if he likes Rime more than them. He says no.) Not to mention that I don't think that Felix has forgiven Rime for what he's done yet, just like how I don't think Rime has forgiven Felix.

Felix's feelings for Rime are complicated, while Felix's feelings for MC are straightforward. I think it would make sense for Felix to want to just focus on his relationship with MC. Now, if MC wasn't there to help Felix move on (as is the case in Sage's route), of course Felix would be more interested in Rime. But that's not the case in Felix's route.

MC seems to be the bridge to a new path and a new life for Felix, and in some cases, for Rime. People can move on, and I think that that's the point of Felix's route.

(Besides, just because he seems uninterested doesn't mean he doesn't care anymore. It just means that his feelings have changed. People can change. And I think that MC was the catalyst for that change. This doesn't mean that Rime and Felix can't get closer again, but I think that their romantic feelings for one another have been complicated by so much that they'd rather just start over. Plus, as the route goes on, they change even more.)

ABSOLUTELY HAPPY VALENTINE’s DAY EVERYONE I LOVE YOU TOO PST

warnings: mentions of alcohol, but besides that it’s just pure fluff

Felix:

- usually doesn’t celebrate valentine’s day because he’s a goth sad boy and thinks it’s all stupid

- but when you bring up that you’re excited about it, he rushes to make plans like never before

- he panics and asks florian for advice because he has no idea how to be ushy gushy romantic

- Florian tells him to use his garden, and that he can help him decorate it.

- while he has Scylla distract you for most of the day (which he may or may not have had to pay her to do) Felix and Florian spend the entire day setting up the garden with decorations

- he even magics the flowers to be pink and red, and give off your favorite scent.

- he steals Escell’s tastiest, most expensive wine and calls for your favorite meal.

- after he’s satisfied with the decorations, he tells you to go get done up and pretty, and you start getting excited and hopeful that he planned something.

- this man dawns his prettiest corset and outfit that shows off his chest and neck (both which you seem to like so much)

- when it’s finally time, he magically sends you a note that beckons you to the garden, and he goes and waits there, shivering with nerves.

- you’ve also stepped up the fashion plate, wearing your most beautiful outfit, and he can’t help but stare in awe at your beauty.

- he’s still staring by the time you walk all the way up to him and you have to call his name to get him out of his trance.

- “uh- erm- right! t-this way…”

- he leads you intuit he garden which looks amazing, with little magic lights floating around the top, which remind you of fairies.

- there’s a small table in the center, decked out with a silk table cloth and rose petals everywhere. on it sits two plates of your favorite dish, and two very full glasses of wine.

- you stare in awe of the decorations, smiling widely. felix feels a small sigh of relief when he notices your glee.

- when you go to sit down, he rushes to pull out the chair for you.

- you giggle at him, and he blushes in response, taking his own seat as you sit down in yours

- “d-do you like the decorations?”

- “i love them. did you spend all day on this?”

- “well… more or less… yes i did. though i do think the flowers are a but much, and the lights are moving more than i wanted them-“

- you lean over the table and kiss his nose before he can finish speaking.

- “it’s perfect. thank you.”

- you spend the rest of the meal chatting and laughing and when you’re both done, he offers you an arm and you both take a walk together through the darkened gardens, and you share a passionate but sweet kiss under the moonlight.

Anisa:

- you already know she has something planned.

- you spend the day in Porrima, going through the market and shopping for each other.

- you laugh and joke all day long, completely full of bliss.

- you spend dinner at her castle, in a beautiful dining hall with elegance that you’ve never seen with your own eyes.

- you both are in formal, elegant dresses, (yours also provided by her)

- you sit at the table and sip wine while talking about starsworn, earth, and how much you love each other.

- afterwards, she brings you into an even more elegant ballroom, where you gäl. at the beautiful chandelier on the ceiling.

- “would you care for a dance, mc?”

- you look over at her and her hand is outstretched towards you.

- you smile and take it, and she leads you to the center of the dance floor, and signals to some musicians that you didn’t even notice before, and you both start to dance.

- she takes the lead in dancing of course, and she’s perfect at it, much to your surprise.

- you too look like graceful swans, dancing so beautifully in the ballroom.

- you giggle to yourself, because this reminds you so heavily of the disney princess movies that you watched when you were younger.

- you feel tears forming in your eyes, because all of your dreams as a child are coming true.

- “what’s wrong, mc?”

- “nothing, i’m just so happy.”

- she smiles, tears welling her eyes too, and she kisses you deeply.

Sage:

- he takes you out to the pub for valentine’s day. not the typical idea of romance, but you both understand the bliss that that place brings to both of you.

- you both sit at a booth in the corner, tucked far out of sight from the rest of the crazy bargoers

- you both have tall mugs of frost my beer in your hands, and you sip on them as sage tells outrageous stories of his starsworn days.

- he watches you laugh at him with a smile, so glad that he’s here with you right now.

- at one point in dinner, he just rests his chin in his hand and stares at you fondly.

- “what?” you ask with a laugh.

- “nothing. you just look so stunning.”

- you try to hide your embarrassment behind your mug of beer, but you choke on it when you take a sip.

- “woah woah woah,” he says with a chuckle as he claps your back. “don’t start dying on me now.”

- after dinner you both get up and start dancing around the bar as a man plays on the old piano.

- your surrounded by very tipsy people, but you only have eyes for each other.

- you giggle and laugh as you both start dancing to the up best song, and he takes your hand and gives you a little spin.

eventually he picks you up bridal style and spins you around, causing people to holler and clap.

- when he stops spinning, you cup your hands around his cheek and kiss him softly.

- your smiles don’t leave for the entire night, and your face hurts from it the next day.

Rime:

- he doesn’t have anything too special, he just spends the day with you.

- when you tease him about having no plans for valentine’s day, he takes your hand and brings you to the woods behind fathom.

- “what are we doing here?” you ask.

- “you’ll see,” he says with a grin.

- he leads you to a path in the woods, and it looks quite frightening at night, and you stop and stare at it.

- without warning, he grabs your hand and you both start running through the woods, laughing as you do.

- he’s very fast. it makes sense, since he is part deer, but you never really realized that before. you stumble a little bit, just barely able to keep up with it.

- eventually, he leads you to a small cliff overlooking a beautiful pond.

- you fall into a trance, looking up at the stars, and how many there are. you’ve never seen so many stars in your life.

- Rime watches you with a smile.

- “beautiful, right? i spent so many sleepless nights out here, just watching the stars. i can probably point out some constellations, if you’d like.”

- you nod your head, and he lies down on the ground, patting the surface beside him.

- you follow suit and lay down next to him.

- he points out every constellation you could possibly see. there are so many it’s hard to keep track.

- he quizzes you at the end of his lecture and you fail miserably, but he laughs it off all the same.

- at one point, you even see a shooting star. you get all excited and point it out.

- “look! a shooting star! make a wish!”

- “why?”

- “on earth, if you make a wish on a shooting star, it’ll come true.”

- “okay, well…”

- he shifts so that he’s propped up on an elbow and his face hangs over yours.

- “i wish that we could stay this way forever. you and me.”

- you feel yourself blush hard under his gaze.

- “you’re not supposed to tell me, idiot. now it won’t come true!”

- “oh well…” he shrugs.

- he bends down and kisses you deeply, and you sit there for the rest of the night, kissing and giggling until you both fall asleep under the stars.

Maybe we get answers in rime route.

What i don’t understand is rime’s motive to work with the lord of shadows. What does he gain from it? What made him start working with him in the first place? He was dead, came back a little fucked up, but i still dont get what made him do all this? Like in felix’s route it would be my villain origin story too seeing the person I DIED FOR, BRING ME BACK, AND THEN KISS SOME “MISTAKE” WHILE MY BACK IS TURNED ??? they really did rime dirty honestly and yeah hes a little fucked up now but THEY USED TO BE CUTE, THEY WERE IN LOVE. AND THEY BOTH REMEMBER THAT. FELIX CRIED OVER IT FOR 5 YEARS. So dont you DARE say felix x rime is toxic in every context 😫 sorry for ranting aidhjfnf anyways main point is that i hope they clarify why rime started working with los in the first place? And why he does it in every route?
