2, 9 and 55 for the game :)
2. talk about a notable time a narrative or character has looked you dead in the eyes and said “fuck your plan, here’s what we’re actually doing.”
It's been a while since my characters did that to me, ngl. They love to ask for more words and more scenes - so my plans to write a short story always go by the wayside. But plot wise? This happened to me a lot more when I was writing original characters.
9. in an ideal world where you’re already super successful and published, would you want to see a tv or movie adaptation of your work? why or why not?
Idk, so much of my stories happens internally, in characters' thoughts and the quiet moments. Also there's so much porn, y'all.
If I ever publish an actual book, then maybe. But until then? Nah, no visual adaptations of my RPF thanks.
55. do you have any abandoned WIP’s? What made you abandon them?
There's like 50k of Alberta era MattDrai angry soulmates fic in my abandoned WIP list. The start of it was good, lots of hate sex, but then it just... Matthew was very, very depressed in the fic and I could tell working on it wasn't as good for my own mental health as I'd hoped. As someone who has recurring depressive episodes on the regular, getting into someone else's depression journey with meds and side effects and... I just started to feel like it was actively fucking me up, so I abandoned the fic.

The main reason NHL goalies have face cages on their masks is to keep them healthy; otherwise their teammates would open mouth kiss them with tongue after every win, and the spread of germs would get out of control.

10, 17 and 22 for the ask game please💙
10. at what point in the process do you come up with titles, and how easy or hard is that for you?
Honestly, that differs all the time. Most of the time it happens at some point in the writing process. It's rare that I'm still stuck on a title when I'm about to post the story.
Often it's a song lyric I associate with the plot. Though it does get a little trickier after 69 posted fics (nice!)
17. what is your favorite line you’ve ever written?
I've written like 1.5 million words in this fandom and thinking of one single line is... kinda impossible.
What's your favorite line?
22. describe your writing process from scratch to finish.
I'm having a perfectly normal conversation with my pocket friends until something sparks an idea. I rush to get at least the basic plot written down so I won't forget
I frantically write the first scene or so and leave myself a few notes on what needs to be in the rest of the fic
I inevitably get stuck and get @whatsaboomlakalaka and/or @sportspuckball to help me talk through where to go from there.
I frantically write more scenes, possibly sprinting with my friend M (who isn't in the fandom but knows me well).
I edit as I go, or as my friends point out stuff to me that would work well in the future. I go back to add a little more foreshadowing or set up
I complain about the story inevitably getting out of hand. Every single GOTI Goat I talk to laughs at me because I always do this.
I complain more as I work to finish the fic.
I ask my friends to read the fic so I can be sure it's not completely stupid. And they're kind enough to oblige.
I fiddle with it some more and then finally post it.

Your ramblings are completely valid. Just know a lot of us here are rooting for you and we love you!
Thanks for the support.
Still lots of ups and downs here, but some actual writing has happened too. We'll see if it was a flash in the pan or the start of recovery.
Still, the support is so welcomed and appreciated.

I just saw someone say "there is no ethical consumption under capitalism" as an argument for boycotting AO3
Babe AO3 is a nonprofit. They do not exist under the ethics of capitalism. Fanfiction is legal because no money is ever exchanged around it. (All the money given to AO3 is used to maintain their servers and pay their lawyers to help keep fanfiction legal.)
Fanfiction is one of the few things in this world - probably the one singular form of entertainment that does not exist within the confines of capitalism. So by your own logic, even if you hate some of the content on AO3, it's inherently the only ethical thing to consume in the whole world.

And the almost complete inability to write period
You? Impossible!
Sadly this is hitting me hard. It’s a struggle to write and has been for a few months now. Y’all haven’t seen much of it because Spring!Puck worked her ass off, but… y’all it’s so hard
I have days where I love what I write (all 100 words of it) and the rare day where I actually make progress, but most days I can’t do much and my brain is actively telling me I’m deluded for thinking I was ever good at it.
I’m tired y’all. I might be losing my mojo
