Just a reality check for anyone who might need it, 90% of being a hardworking student isn't pretty notes, it's not relaxing Mozart playing in the background to your vanilla iced late and reading Aristotle while the sun rises. It can be very easy to glorify the pretty parts of academia while looking through Tumblr and instagram and think that this makes up the 90%, but it doesn't. Especially when you get to uni/college! 90% of my study in uni is having to find 4 different sources of information to even begin to UNDERSTAND a topic before class. It's hours of study before a lecture just to keep up, it's saying no to a lot and prioritising your education.

Don't think that just because you're struggling while everyone else looks perfect that you are lesser of a student. Everyone stresses, everyone's study and notes can look messy. Your struggles are valid, because being a hardworking student is just that, it's hard.

hi, i know i’ve been mia for a few weeks after starting this studyblr & i’m extremely sorry for that. i’m still super serious about this blog, no worries! but i’m still on my (last month) break so i can’t provide contents since i am.. not.. learning anything..

however!

i am entering my dream med school this september!! yay!! i am extremely excited to share my 5 years journey with this community <3

since i am from malaysia, i would love to make a separate post about how i managed to enter a medschool just to inspire and inform my juniors on what they should do to prepare themselves!

omg i just realized: u know when you really don’t want to study and procrastinate all day, etc.? studying is awful and you don’t want to do it. but. is it really that bad? i think this idea that studying is so boring and not fun is hammered into our mindset - be it from friends, media, … - that you automatically adapt this way of thinking and start to procrastinate. but put it into perspective: it’s probably not that bad, you get to learn something and the sooner you start the earlier you finish. in the midst of all the stress, pressure and annoying teachers (ya know our wonderful education system) we sometimes forget that we should cherish the opportunity of getting an education, which is completely understandable. so fake it till u make it. studying is fun now bitches

Listen. Next year I will not cry at night and barely get through my math classes. Uhhh no i’m done with that. I will own them. I will crush them. I will understand the shit out of them. I’m gonna be a mathematician badass!!! And like Abigail Adams once said I can’t be sitting on my ass all summer and think that’s gonna happen.

Learning is a privilege guys. Enjoy it. I love math.
