LIMITED EDITION print release! 12"x18" fine art prints of my Rincón 50 Surf Fest poster are now available online. I am honored to have been chosen to create the artwork for this @wsl North American Longboarding Championship event being held here in Rincón, PR. It has been pretty rad to see my artwork on so many different items. The one downfall is not being able to control exactly how my art is printed, so it led me to the decision to create this limited edition fine art print release. All sponsorship logos have been removed and I have reduced the poster down to the artistic elements only then printed on Epson Ultra Premium Matte paper using my Epson printer. Then to make these truly unique I hand embellished all 40 of the prints using Prismacolor pencils. I am so happy with how these came out! Day two of the contest and These prints are moving fast! Hola amigos, today I hung 2 new hand embellished giclées at Roots here in Rincón. Printed @gallery725 in FL, these archival canvas reproductions are embellished with Golden mediums and stretched on high profile, heavy duty stretcher bars, which means they look great even without a frame. These are hand signed in acrylic paint, wired and ready to hang. I pride myself on only creating the highest quality reproductions possible and these two look just like the originals. Hand Embellished giclees in the works! I had some beautiful canvas reproductions created the last time I was in Florida, and I'm now in the process of stretching, wiring and hand embellishing them- experimenting with some new #goldenacrylic mediums along the way. In the past year I have used my GoPro more than the previous four years combined... I finally saw this camera as more than a toy, it was a tool- A tool that could help set my art apart from others. I have asked many women in my community to go for swims with me, to play and dive and surf- it has helped me become closer to them and closer to finding that which I want to express through my art. The beauty of the environment, the resilience of this island 🇵🇷and the strength of this wonderful community. I am sad to say years of loving this camera has caused the inevitable. My GoPro has a mind of its own these days. This was one of the last images captured before my GoPro decided to stop working. Current #wip Oil on 24"x24" canvas. I took this photo of some friends a while back and I just loved the reflections of their bodies on the underside of the surface of the water- all distorted and funky making their bodies so juicy and trippy. I had a blast shooting with @hallepiacente last week at my favorite beach. It's so nice to be creative with other passionate females while doing what we love; spending time in the beautiful Caribbean water and working together to create some photography... oh and beer. I have been asked by other artists why my clothes never have paint on them... Honestly I am not a clean painter, the truth is I never where clothes when I paint. Living in the tropics and being a person that believes in a more simple lifestyle means going without AC in my studio. Bikinis are my uniform while at work and it is A-OK with me. Being an artist can be tough sometimes, in the beginning you save money by doing everything yourself, ordering materials, shipping supplies, social media and marketing, website development and online store, accounting and taxes, looking for new galleries, emailing and invoicing clients etc… and then you still have to actually put in the time to make the art. To give yourself time to be creative. THEN, you add in the fact that people spam you and act interested in purchasing a piece. Even though you notice something is a little off, you go through with the emails, invoicing, shipping quote, acquiring shipping materials and everything, just to have the person stop responding after I have put so much work into it. No reason, no explanation of change of heart, nothing... I don’t understand the purpose behind this sort of thing? Why would somebody waste my time (and their own) by playing these games. I have had this happen numerous times and it really affects my ability to produce new work. Has anyone else been getting a lot of fake art buyers lately?
