"Tres Palmas" oil on canvas 🌴🌴 Tres Palmas beach in Rincon, Puerto Rico is a very special place for me and my husband @jds710 . When we first moved to PR in 2010 we would often walk this beach in the mornings and collect sea glass and shells while we talked about our new adventures together. 5 years later my husband and I got married at Villa Tres Palmas- it was like a dream. It is sad to imagine this beautiful place during times like these. The beauty of Puerto Rico will quickly return- from what I hear there are already buds on the trees. The lush beauty of PR will grow back fast due to it’s amazing climate, but they will need our help to rebuild. Many towns in Puerto Rico rely greatly on tourism and the best way to help them will be to return. Go there on spring break, book a vacation for spring and stimulate the economy- bring donations, $$$ and love with you! Shark machetes getting a coat of varnish today. The Great White has already been sold but the Tiger shark is still available. My fine art machetes are sealed to prevent rust and then painted using oil paint and then delivered with a wooden stand for table/shelf display and a strong magnet enabling you to mount your machete seamlessly on the wall. W I P of a new piece, oil paint on bamboo. This piece has been fun as I enjoy painting the details of my little Fresh Catch sushi fishies. I just added the shadow and lots of details but I am sure I will go in for a few adjustments on one last layer once this one dries. Finished with this small 8"x8" #wareagle commission today. It was a fun piece that was a little different from my usual subject matter. While I have painted birds before I have never done a portrait of a bird- usually they are secondary subjects of my paintings of women. This was a delightful change and I tried to utilize a bit of #auburnuniversity 's color scheme to enhance the theme. I had a blast shooting with @hallepiacente last week at my favorite beach. It's so nice to be creative with other passionate females while doing what we love; spending time in the beautiful Caribbean water and working together to create some photography... oh and beer. After all that time treading water and trying not to look ridiculous underwater (harder than you think) it was nice to relax with a cold Medalla in @oceanstateofmindpr 's new koozie that I designed. Pink Palms, oil paint on canvas // Rincón is known for it's beautiful sunsets and as the season comes to a close the sun slowly moves across the horizon bringing dreamy colors over Desecheo and a calmness to the sea. In the summer the waves are few and far between but every now and then it is glassy and populated with a handful of friends. These days are playful and make you feel so connected to the ocean and the community. When the waves don't show there is so much on this island to discover. In this painting I wanted to show the beauty of Rincón during a sleepy, quiet summer evening. I just uploaded a few new Watercolors for PR ❤ I have a couple metallic watercolors available for those of you that are into it. Remember 100% of the proceeds go to help the people of western Puerto Rico after the destruction caused by Hurricane Maria. Wet dreamz 😜2010. Mixed media on canvas. This older painting now lives in my personal collection here in FL. It's nice to hold onto a couple of your first paintings to see how they age with time and to see how far you have come! This painting was created using acrylic paint & paint markers and then sealed with resin like a surfboard. The downfall... it ages like a surfboard. I have since sanded down some of the resin and buffed this painting to get rid of a bulk of the resin but it still has a bit of a yellow tint. Lesson learned! I may add a layer of paint on top of the resin to brighten up the whites in the foreground a bit. You have to keep learning and keep experimenting!
