Headcannon time!

country trolls need to wear shoes on their hooves, and need to be shoed/have their shoes taken off like a regular horse. The shoes are given intricate designs and even textures: some have glitter, some are made with fools gold plating, some have plaid paint and some have just their signature. Certain breeds of horse troll are more prone to hoof cracking than others and there are thicker shoes for fragile hooves. A shoe can be given to a country troll’s sweetheart as a keepsake or even a promise ring.

Country trolls are the second most prone to anger problems out of all the troll species, but are the easiest to get angry, second easiest to get over it quickly. But they will very much so hold a grudge and are known to guilt trip.

Male country trolls go through rut seasons where they court the troll they desire, butting heads and competing. A female country troll can court a troll whenever she pleases. Females are seen as the more dominant gender similar to Vikings, taking care of finances, property, and matriarching families.

The hair of a country troll is coarse and rough. The fur of the horse body is soft, and so is the tail. Country trolls love to braid and style their tails and manes. For the ones that have fetlocks, they’re seen as a beauty standard- almost a sign of elegance. But they’re a nightmare to keep clean and tidy.

Harnesses and saddles are seen as formal attire and will be worn at weddings, graduations, and other celebrations. The saddles are handed down by family members that have the family brand or crest somewhere on the saddle.

When two country trolls get married, they wear their saddles and exchange each other’s reins as a “you may kiss the bride/groom” sort of thing, and make a ring out of each other’s reins, and use the shoe they gave one another to make the medal bands. The leftover reins are tied together in their living room and the saddles are placed next to each other to signify the marriage. The leftover half’s of each troll’s shoe are melded together to make a hybrid shoe, which goes on the door of the house they live in as “legal proof” of marriage or partnership. Nothing is wasted in country troll society.

When a troll is born, the family works as a team to make the saddle for that specific troll.

hi hey hello this post has been made before but please try not to make fun of people for their autistic traits such as

• telling the same joke/ wanting to have the same conversation over and over again

• not having much coordination and having a tough time doing “easy” things like tying shoelaces

• having trouble understanding what you mean and needing lots of clarification

• needing things to be broken down into little steps

• having extremely high or extremely low empathy

• getting very attached to things like inanimate objects
