My Interpretation of how the elements and the Hex work.

K, so I just need to yap about something, and this I think deserves it's own chapter, why not.

I know that apparently "Wubbox is the Hex, they said it in the Perplex-Lore announcement!", but I don't like it for multiple reasons, I've been thinking about the elements anyways, and this is just for fun so let's go!

Since I decided in the last minute to add the Hex too to this, let's start with why I think Wubbox isn't the Hex:

> 1; Multiple Wubboxes -mainly Epics- don't require any fire monsters to be activated.

> 2; I find it boring. That's it.

So if Wubbox isn't a hex, then what is it and what is the Electricity Element/Supernatural Class?

Remember how the Ethereal Elements parallel the Naturals? Plasma > Plant, Shadow > Cold, all that Jazz?

-> Electricity is the same, paralleling Fire and the Supernatural class/Electricity Element being VERY simmilar to the Ethereals!

-> This then would explain why Wubboxes can be found in so many places and how the Epics are able to take on traits from their home islands!

-> We have 12 Celestials, come on, pairs of 2, it makes sense.

So then what do I think is the Hex?

Boring awnser: there is no Hex in the canon of MSM.

Actual awnser: Any quint can become a Hex, but only temporarily and under very specific conditions.

-> Example: Mimic needs to get a bunch of Relics to temporarily gain the fire element. In my interpretation, this is why it is the only Natural monster who requires Relics to be purchased. I like to think it eats them, being able to digest amber with no problems and this is how it can gain the Fire Element for a while. (This as of now only works with regular Mimic, for other HC reasons.)

-> This would also allow, all the Hex variations to look different, mostly keeping their original Quint form that gets details resembling the temporarily gained element, giving way to many interesting and cool designs!

But hold on. I said all Quints can become a Hex.

Yupp! And that includes BeMeebEth too!

If the Supernatural Class/Electricity Element is simmilar to the Ethereals, then BeMeebEth could take it up as a 6th Element.

How would that even happen?

Hmmm... Either Galvana gives a hand and "blesses" BeMeebEth with it or smtg like that.

Or (my preferred idea) it would probably require something that would give a reason to remove a Wubbox's core from it's main body, (click here for more info on those) then give that core a reason to activate and send power/Elemental properties over to BeMeebEth.

And let's be honest, none of those reasons would be positive things.

I also think, since Ethereal Epic Wubbox is well.... the Ethereal Epic Wubbox (wow, I'm so smart), its core would be the most compatible with the Ethereal Elements and BeMeebEth.

Think about it for a moment and that can open the door for some angst potential :]

Vhenshun, switching up his thoughts on Zarroë is such a big thing, imo. Like, the whole Workshop just hearing him talk about them in a more positive way (or at least not calling them an "untrustwothy, probably evil being") probably shocked EVERYONE.

most of the workshopeans know how to sew at least some basic stitches. the workshop has no shortage of random spiky/sharp bits lurking around and sometimes upholstery/blankets/plushies get torn so it was just inevitable

no one believed that vhenshun had met zarroë when he first brought it up. the sheer difference in how he described them after the event (a massive nerd) compared to how he made them seem before (an untrustworthy, demented trickster spirit or something to that effect) was so apparent that most of them were convinced pretty fast

as the resident “doctor,” flasque has acute knowledge of the various allergies the workshoppers have. some of them think its a little creepy, but theyre really just trying to make sure that they dont give out any medicine that might cause allergic reactions

im adapting this from @curi0uscreature because i find it entirely too adorable: teeter could only speak in party horn/confetti noises at first and tauter is the only one who reliably understands them during this time.

^this is kind of a big part of why tauter feels the need to be so Responsible outside of the anxiety, because they felt like they were having to get their twins wants/needs met for them. no one is happy with this

lighter note. if teeter could/learned how to speak they would sound something like the turrets from portal (tho less murder-y) and would still sometimes just resort back to 🎉 sounds if they were very emotional/unable to articulate what they wanted to

a lot of the workshopeans actually thought vhenshun had been transported to an islet before they had actually got out, because they were spending so much time in the tunnels that pretty much nobody ever saw them

rhysmuth canonically creeps around in the workshop mini mine. most other workshopeans do not know this and are fairly certain that the mine just has a cryptid in it or something, which rhysmuth actually finds hilarious

the blue block in rhysmuths chest(? torso?) is not their heart, rather it is a protective layer around it. that layer is translucent tho, you would be able to see their heart if you put a light up to it. (not that they would just let anyone do that, but physically its possible)

rhysmuths volume bars can also indicate their emotions, which is quite useful as their face only moves so much. higher energy/adrenaline = ‘louder’ bars

both flasque and rhysmuth are generally cold to the touch (since glass and crystal dont retain heat very well). however, the liquid inside flasque produces a tiny bit of warmth and rhysmuths heart also produces its own warmth

^related to this. flasque hates feeling cold so much. they bask in whatever light the workshop/islet gets and they have a heat lamp in their room for the sake of their sanity

a certain mech ethereal (cough cough nitebear cough cough) is prone to shocking people without meaning to since they generate electricity (thank you summersong 2024), and thus tries to avoid being too touchy/affectionate even if they need help/a hug. no one really cares about the static except for themself tho :(

theres an ongoing debate about what the ‘official’ name for a group of meebs should be. top contenders are a petri, a tissue, and a charm (courtesy of meebkin who is adamant that it be a cute name)

each of the workshopeans has a specific prized possession that sort of just spawned in their room/they found inside the workshop. for example: flasque has a microscope, nitebear has a music box, etc

its unknown if ^these items^ are gifts from zarroë or perhaps the effects of some passive magic unique to the workshop

kind of taken from @pumpkincryptid - zarroë cannot feel the inside of the workshop per se, but they are aware of when certain things happen to their head (like when a meeb bites off one of their optic nerves)

teeter tauter can both bend their legs backwards since theyre mechanical limbs and things like tendons/joints dont present the same obstacles. its not something they do often because it looks offputting and theres no point to it anyway, but they can

we know that zarroë put up cameras in certain places in the workshop once they became concerned about vhenshun. they Did Not Need To Do That since they have internal eyes up there, However. they just completely fucking forgor that they could just put more eyes in places. the fool

the reason zarroë showed vhenshun the mysterious door was to make sure that he didnt get himself into some dangerous situation where he couldnt get help.

BONUS: zarroë based quite a bit of their mech islet stuff on what vhenshun had built previously because holy shit he was close to escaping. the fact that their creation was so smart was a bit terrifying to them, and was part of why they felt the need to distract vhenshun- he was far too close to escaping to a place in which he could not exist for long

BONUS: much later on in the workshop timeline, when zarroë has learned a little bit more about the mortal experience and whatnot, they sometimes manifest in the workshop, say something to the effect of “I LOVE YOU VERY MUCH AND YOUR EXISTENCE IS A MIRACLE,” then disappear. look theyre trying their best
