Being the daughter of famous actors would pretty much determine the fact you’d be a famous actress or in that field of some sorts. Frankie Cosmos didn’t follow this route. She has become a headliner in the indie rock world. Her new album “Next Thing” came out April 1st and it isn’t an April Fools joke. Her reverb-layered vocals and timed instrumentals continue her “hipster-indie” vibe, attracting even more listeners.

(Pleistocene)
I posted about Pleistocene earlier. Here is a track from their new EP. This EP seems to be more clearly recorded - the vocals are more audible and the guitars haven’t been through a EQ/preset amp (Steve will laugh ;) ). Word is that a new album is due soon - EXCITED!

(Erased Tapes Records) has brought back my favorite Ólafur Arnalds into a new stratosphere - Kiasmos. Arnalds and Janus Rasmussen of the Faroe Islands blend classical music sounds and techno beats to create such a sublime and unparalleled electronica.
Kiasmos, their self-titled debut album is available for purchase on Erased Tapes Records, and by golly, it is a knock out of the park.

The slug of the new year is upon us. It’s January 3rd, and we are still evaluating our New Year’s resolutions.
Let’s take a step back. Many of you in places like Colorado and Oregon have been doing drugs in celebration of the New Year, but sadly the rest of the country can’t legally. However, there is a solution. This tune from The Erised provides a light blissful experience as its chords and drums chill you out to a new musical level. If the listener closes their eyes, the lyrics “Take me / love me / hold me / like a child” will surge through their veins.
The Erised are a Ukrainian electronica group signed to Med School Music, a sub label of Hospital Records. Now, ‘electronica’ and ‘Hospital Records’ is an unusual paring - Hospital Records specializes in Drum ‘n’ Bass. However, Take Me uses elements of DNB to make the track unique and blissful. The Erised have explored sounds outside of electronica. They appeared on Ukraine’s X-Factor, and garnered many fans while performing pop songs for the initial episodes.

Are you taking into account global warming, deforestation or any environmental issues when making decisions for your future?
Dear Anon,
Thank you for asking this question. Unfortunately, I have not been taking this issue into account for my future. I have been studying these environmental issues and now have a different mental view about life. Over the past few weeks I have been shutting off lights and turning off electronics, especially those that require a plug. When I am finished with college or university, I will build a house based on a geothermal air system. The geothermal air system will reduce my usage of fossil fuels. There aren't many other things that I can do to reduce my usage of fossil fuels or things that harm the environment. Our contemporary world depends on fossil fuels, which in tern causes global warming.
Thanks for the question,
PunjBusiness

Music and it's future
Everybody, from a grandmother to a five-year old boy, follows and listens to popular music. Music is part of everybody's culture, and we can't live without it. However, many elderly adults have told me that many popular forms of music are making teenagers dumber and are affecting their overal personality.
Popular songs can be fun and "excitingly awesome" (quote a few young teenage girls), but there are some negative sides to these songs. Britney Spears sang about how "Toxic" she is and how she gets all the guys and make them fall in love. This song was cute, but for me it had repercussions. I realized that I was starting to have reoccurring deep thoughts about getting girls, which replaced my love for knowledge and studying. In addition, my IQ dropped quite a bit. I began to be uninspired to study and only wanted to goof around.
As I became increasingly worried that i would become an idiot and a bloke, I began to search for music that had meaning. Music that was inspirational and pleasant. This is when i learned about the indie scene. The indie artists were actual musicians and sung about love, death, or nature. It was a sigh of relief to find music that I could relate to! The indie scene seemed like it was growing in popularity, and that lots of intelligent people actually existed. My life was changed upon this discovery. Bands like Mumford & Sons, Michael Kiwanuka, Fleet Foxes, Laura Marling, and many others have helped me shape my personality over the past few years into something completely different. I now cook more elegantly and live more cleanly.
I suggest that you, the reader, go and listen to indie music. I am sure that you will be pleasantly surprised by the sounds these bands create.
VIVA LA INDIE!
