February started with false hopes of a ceasefire.

It is now February 15 and the largest medical facility in South Gaza, which sheltered ~2,500 people and had been under siege for two weeks, has been attacked. It is now completely out of function.

We are 21 days away from marking 5 months of ongoing genocide.

palestinian sunbird!

hey guys! so, evidently i've been gone for a while. it was kind of a bad time for me to start this account. a bunch of shit happened and everything sucked and it made me get art block 💔 oops. but now what's going on is too important to just sit there and have art block about. i'm using my, albiet small, platform to spread the palestinian cause during this global strike week called on by bisan. the palestinian sunbird is a symbol of freedom for the palestinian people. it flies across borders and checkpoints in defiance of israeli occupation. i hope that someday soon the palestinian people can be as free as their national bird ❤️🖤🤍💚

THE TERRITORIES

Set in an alpine tundra, the territories are home to the tree clans. Each clan takes a respective part of the land that is most suitable for its needs: BleakClan in the mountains, PineClan in the forests, and SteppeClan in the plains. The clans are bordered by a large river and high mountains. On the other side of the river is where two-legs and kittypets settle. Rogues are also plentiful in these areas, as they are unwelcome on clan territory.

I know you have all probably seen the esims for gaza posts circulating. Some of you have probably looked at them and thought maybe you should help out, but have weighed up the daunting process of signing up for something you're unfamiliar with vs. the gut-wrenching scale of the things people are going through on the ground right now, and you've put it off or questioned whether it will make enough of a difference vs. some other future kind of activism you could put that $6+ towards. I'm not calling you out or scolding you, it is natural to feel conflicted and ambivalent about the multiple calls for aid that you are seeing on social media.

WELCOME TO PINECLAN ☆

Sheltered by the thick pine trees above, PineClan cats reside in the forests of the alpine. Their territory is dotted with green, as the mountains that protect them rocket into the sky. The heart of their territory and where their former camp lies is in the lush groves the land has to offer. PineClan's territory makes its way up into the mountains, where the terrain is harsher and the winds are colder. Although not as intense as their neighbor BleakClan, some cats may still struggle with venturing out if they're unfamiliar with the territory. Plant life is sparser here, as rocky and rough landscapes take their place.

PineClan is led under Star Sparrowscratch.  Due to PineClan territory now being rampant with wolves, the leader has resorted to taking his clan underground in the abandoned mines. Although an incredibly unpopular decision, it is one that will keep the clan safe, even if it means leaving their culture behind.

THREE MORE DAYS

We have three more days until our applications open!

Group openings are the main way to submit an original character. Group openings happen sparsely, and when the staff team feels that we are ready to open our doors again. When the group is open, new members will submit their character onto an application. This application will ask for character information, roleplay examples, and more. Applications will close after a certain amount of time, and a select group of members will be accepted. Acceptances are based on effort and creativity. Please note that Icebound is meant to be a small community and that we will only accept a certain amount of people to join us.

WELCOME TO STEPPECLAN ☆

SteppeClan resides in a vast territory known for its expansive rocky plains. It is full of rich fauna and wildlife, making it a perfect location for cats. The clan's camp is hidden away by an overgrowth of shrubbery, where the rays of the sun peek through the leaves ever so slightly. SteppeClan's hunting grounds are plenty and wide, with the territory holding a diverse population of wildlife. Their main source of prey is rabbits and birds. However, the winter seasons are known to bring some hardships due to colder weather, where the clan has to rely on other means of hunting, such as burrowing. The summer brings hotter temperatures that can make any cat uncomfortable in their fur. 

SteppeClan is currently under the leadership of Star Carrionbite, a former rogue who took over the clan in a plot of revenge. She aims to make big changes to the clan, but whether your her ally or not is up to you...

I’m just here to remind everyone once again that we can’t stop protesting and boycotting and spreading the word for Palestine, even if it’s been a while. The people in power (mainly the Israeli and US governments) are relying on us losing steam.

And I do want to mention that a small bit of hope to be found among all of this is that things aren’t losing steam. I still see dozens of posts about Palestine every day, I see footage of protests almost every day, and the boycotts are working. I just want to encourage everyone that we just need to keep it up! I’ve seen so many social issues fade out over time, a week of outrage and then things settle down, but that isn’t the case here and I really respect everyone who’s still posting and protesting and seeking out information to end this once and for all. Focus on that hope, and use it to keep going :)
