tagged by @punksalmons for wip monday <3 except i'm late again so it's tidbit tuesday now. from my dogbuck idea that is definitely not the thing with a deadline that i SHOULD be working on, and this part specifically is largely inspired by this gifset

“I’ll go get him,” Chim says, but Eddie calls, “Buck!” and whistles, high and sharp, and Buck turns, shoulders straightening to attention. Eddie nods toward the engine. Buck flashes a thumbs-up and starts saying his goodbyes. “Damn, you really have him trained,” Chim says, and promptly disappears inside before Eddie can figure out what to do with that. Buck finally lopes over. “Hey,” he says, grinning, bright and easy. “We ready to go?” “Been ready,” Eddie says. “Waiting on you.” “Oh, excuse me for being good at public relations.” Eddie scoffs, nothing but fond. He means to concede the point so they can go, but what comes out of his mouth instead is, “I should just put a leash on you, huh?”
