James Marsters has said in an interview that, when Joss Whedon let him know that Spike was gonna fall in love with Buffy in season five, he had assumed it would be one-sided - only for Whedon to correct him with a “Oh no, she’s gonna fall in love with you too.”

I really, really, really like how grrm subverts the young adult protagonist expectations with arya. chosen one enough to just pick up a sword and be adept with it? while being cutesy clumsy? NO! you’re going to have to practice and stumble and poke yourself and get hurt before you get good at it. Big sword with no strength training? NO! learn with a skinny one like the child you are. go on an adventure as a princess in hiding, its harrowing! hang out with the lower rung of society and forget about them once you’re back in your high castle? NO! understands social stratification and how cruelly it mashes those it deems low and weak like a boss. have 50 boys pining after you? NO! a ragtag of bigger boys than you who bully you. adventure takes you to different lands and you lose yourself along the way and never come back? NO! you’re going to come back, you’re always going to come back. different roads sometimes lead to the same castle. every step you think is taking you away from winterfell is actually just bringing you right home. and none of it stops her from her great destiny but actively adds to it.

ppl acting like buffy ended the series single like she's being an independent woman will never stop being funny to me... likeee what actually happened is her confessing her love to someone who promptly died. its like going to a funeral and congratulating the grieving widow for becoming a girlboss who doesn't need a man, lmaoooo. She may very well be a girlboss but time and place, oh my god.

Buffy wanting some time alone then telling Spike "That's okay. I can be alone with you here" is one of the most romantic lines ever, but then they followed it up with Spike telling her "Buffy, if you're in … if you're in pain … or if you need anything… or if I can do anything for you.." and they really expected us to think they were bad together and shouldn't be a couple

Always interesting to see people portray Arya as a soldier or knight when she simply isn't one. Brienne fills the role of lady onight quite well, and I'm not trying to say there can't be multiple, except that there aren't. Arya's experiences see her accompanied by knights, but all of her training is related to espionage, information-gathering, and, at most directly violent, assassination. Her skillset falls under deception, persuasion, performance, identity assumption, stealth, ingratiating herself among strangers while looking like she belongs... This has also been her developing skillset since A Clash of Kings at the very latest.
All of Arya's connections to war and battle are about surviving it as a refugee. Why do people think that translates directly to participating as a combatant and soldier? Arya Stark's most terrifying skillset is making connections to people and then exploiting them. War, in terms of violence on the battlefield, is her trauma, not her triumph.
