Sorry I haven’t been real active, my pain is just through the roof and I’ve been nearly non-functional. But I have managed to do homework and even passed my Science final. Now I just have 5 papers to write before the end of February T_T. The good news is, the first I get to see my dr and find out if we can finally get more testing for whatever’s wrong with my back because I’m tired of being this miserable. Had Keiko wanted someone to sweep her off her feet? Absolutely. Had she ever thought it was something that would happen? Absolutely not. But then, Kankuro always told her she had a very bleak outlook on life even for a shinobi. Plastering a gentle smile on her face even though she didn't actually want to smile took almost no effort after her years of needing to fool others. "In my experience, dreams don't tend to come true often."

She didn't mean to be depressive and she hoped she could salvage the situation; it wasn't right to make other shinobi feel worse about their lives. "Though, some people are luckier than others, so perhaps you'll get what you're looking for." Her voice was a soft purr, years of training herself to always be seductive making it hard for her to completely change how she interacted with those she wasn't actively trying to seduce.

"I suppose for many it would be boring." Even she used poetry occasionally, bawdry as the poems she had memorized were, when it suited her needs.

One of the side effects of feeding chakra through one's body to make it physically stronger, was that he processed things more quickly too. Such as alcohol meaning that the bottle of sake he'd partaken in so far had barely even left him tipsy. But he didn't believe he could say the same thing of the Nara.

While he should have considered how his words would come across, and the fact he was here in Konoha not back home where everyone knew he meant little by what he said, Kankuro couldn't help the way he leaned forward a bit, a smirk pulling at his lips. "Who said I was worried 'bout wha' you 'ould do?" There was a flash of playfulness in his amber eyes as he leaned on one elbow on the table as he poured himself another drink. "Maybe I'm jus' 'fraid tha' yer too drunk t' really enjoy things."

Still, Shikamaru did have a point about the fact the Puppeteer didn't have a place to stay right now. With this round of Chunin exams, all the inns were full and Kankuro didn't really have any friends here to rely on. A bed did sound much better than sleeping on the ground yet again and he found himself sighing before he tossed back the sake in his cup. "Alrigh', fine, lead th' way."

Shrugging a bit, he shook his head. “Naw, pretty sure I owe th’m a ‘pology more’n they owe me one.”

As prepared for most things as Keiko usually was, that question caught her off guard and actually took her a moment to find an answer for. “I have dealt with so many of every different body type there is, that truly, its not the physical that really attracts me anymore. Though...” Teal lips curled in amusement as she nearly laughed at herself, “I suppose a kind smile is always nice too.”

Turning to look at the taller woman, Keiko couldn’t help the slight smirk she gave, one dark brow lifting playfully. “Aww, do you need me to protect you, Beautiful?” All but sauntering over to Eva, she reached up to drag her fingertips along Eva’s jawline. “They didn’t want me there anyways. I’ve learned not to stick around.” As much as taking down the incoming attackers had been due quite a bit to the puppeteer, she also knew that when the crowds gathered to celebrate, the best she could hope for was to be ignored entirely.

Going out drinking really wasn’t Kankuro’s favorite past time, if only because he hated how stupid most people became when inebriated. And yet, here he was, drug along by some of the other Jounin who insisted that he had to come along. Temari had agreed with them, leaving the puppeteer with no choice besides going along. If he were lucky, there would be some decent food available and he could at least eat a good dinner. Maybe some fresh fruit even, since Suna had very few fresh produce items and he’d learned it to be almost an obsession when it was available.

Amber eyes flicked over to whoever had spoken to him, the puppeteer slightly on edge for a moment before he recognized who it was. Nodding back to the Hyuuga, Kankuro made his way in that direction. As strung out as the long haired man had been during the war, he couldn’t imagine this was someone who would drink heavily so perhaps his evening wouldn’t be complete bullshit. Sinking into a seat next to Neji, he shook his head slightly. “Naw, Temari’s off wi’ tha’ Nara o’ yers. An’ Gaara’s no’ really a par’y person.” Not that Kankuro was much of a party person either really, but Temari had threatened him if he didn’t go with the newly promoted Jounin. “Didn’ think you were th’ par’y type eitha...”

Leaning back in his chair, Neji spoke more loudly than usual to the friend sitting across from him, noise from the busy bar filling the air and making it hard to hear.  He didn’t really care for bars, particularly the trendy variety stuff full of people with all the visibility of a cave full of bats.  But, he’d been talked into going out, cajoled with the reminder that they were supposed to welcome the new jounin among them now that the promotion exams were over.  Throughout the exams, Neji had been only watching, using his byakugan to make sure nothing went awry.  Now that they were over and violent tensions had calmed, he was supposed to be friendly and bond with the new jounin, never really Neji’s strong suit.  Neither was drinking, the bottle of sake in front of him nearly untouched.  

The area noticeably quietened causing the Hyuuga to turn his head to find the source. Suna shinobi.  Probably had the same idea as their Konoha peers.  The Hyuuga spied a familiar painted face among them, without either of his siblings for once.  “Kankuro,” he greeted him with a polite nod.  Though he didn’t know Kankuro well, he didn’t mind him, rather seeing him as an equal.  The least he could do was be diplomatic. “Sit with us.  Are your Temari and Gaara not with you?”
