Hebi stood in front of Sode, waiting and watching; realizing full well that she wouldn’t believe that he was simply let off his chain to do as he wishes. What else can he say? It’s not like he can flat out tell her that he ditched Saru and Renji in the Seireitei all in the spirit of exploration and adventure. She may be kin, but she has other loyalties. 

“Did she now?”

“Well, you see.. we were all on patrol, and there wasn’t anything going on. I was only a nuisance to them, apparently. So, just like always, Saru got upset with me and let me off the chain; rumbling about annoying someone else; I don’t remember what it was exactly.” Hebi smiled from ear to ear in hopes of selling his story. 

“So with this new freedom you decided to slip out of the Seireitei and come all the way out here….”

Hebi shifted his weight back on to his tail, crossing his legs in mid air as he often did. “Well, I wouldn’t say I decided to come here as I more so stumbled here, haha.” Hebi slithered from left to right, fidgeting with his hands while he talked. “You  see, I was running along a roof top, when I saw a small patrol heading towards the gate to Karakura Town. i couldn’t just let them come here by themselves now could I? What kind of zanpakuto would I be if I let them come here all alone?” He stopped his fidgeting and looked at Sode once more, hoping that she didn’t see through his false story.

While Hebi was looking at his elegant kin, he took note of her glances in a different location as well as the concerned look she was giving him. He couldn’t help but wonder what, or who it was she was looking for. Maybe her distraction is exactly what I need to give her the slip as well. 

“Oh what to do? You really shouldn’t be out here by yourself Hebi.”

“I don’t suppose you know the way to get back?”

Hebi let out a gaping smile as he replied, “No need to be concerned about me, I am a Zanpakuto after all. I am more than capable of looking after myself.” He reached out his hand and gave her a thumbs up; the sort of a thing a child would do when they are clearly up to no good. “Yeah, yeah, of course I do. You don’t need to linger around here; I can find my way back, no problem.” Although, it wont be anytime soon. There is still so much to see and do. Not to mention, I am going to be in so much trouble when Renji and Saru get a hold of me. I don’t need to meet up with them anytime soon. Only an idiot would leap towards impending doom. He chuckled to himself and looked away from Sode; looking off into the distance and wondering what lay out there in the city for him to do.

“I see…”

Sode no Shirayuki could not imagine what it would be like to be chained to someone all the time like Hebi was to Saru. In fact, she could not imagine being a zanpakuto spirit of two. There was Zabimaru, Katen Kyokotsu and then there was Sogyo no Kotowari. She did not know the latter two very well, but she never did witness them fight with each other like the two halves of Zabimaru did.

“I’m sure she did not mean for you to wander so far away like you have. Lieutenant Abarai too.”

Despite their differences, they were one and being separated made them incomplete, If she was a zanpakuto spirit of two, she would want there to be an understanding and balance between them. What one did could affect the second. Even if he was being a handful, Saru should have been more careful. Because of her actions, Hebi was now here and Shirayuki could not help but feel responsible.

Despite his reassurances, Sode was not convinced. Her eyes kept drifting back from where she came. She could sense that Rukia was not far away so she could find her way back easily. But she couldn’t just turn her back on Hebi. She would surely be reprimanded if word got out that she had seen him and did nothing.

Finally she looked back to Hebi and smiled. “I am here with lady Rukia. She had some business to discuss with the substitute soul reaper located here.” She offered in explanation. “Which gives me a great idea! Why don’t you come join me and lady Rukia? I’m sure she would like to see you.”

It sounded like the perfect idea to Sode. Her smile was kind while her eyes brightened, trying to make the suggestion sound really sweet and hopefully get him to agree. This way she could rejoin Rukia quickly without her thinking she abandoned her for some reason and she could also put the decision in Rukia’s hands.

If Rukia deemed it necessary to turn back, then so be it. But maybe she would let him tag along; especially if Sode promised to stay close and watch him.

Boring! This is so boring! Ever since this morning, Hebi, Saru and Renji have been out on patrol; and as expected, there is no suspicious activity; a complete waste of time. Letting out a sigh, Hebi protested. “How long must we continue this pointless search for nothing! You really don’t need me here for this; the two of you can handle this just fine without my help.” Hebi folded his hands over his head and continued slithering on his tail, legs crossed in mid-air and eyes closed; pouting. 

It wasn’t too much longer until Hebi spotted the gate to Karakura Town, along with a small patrol of soul reapers. If he could manage to escape Saru and Renji without them noticing, he would be able to sneak out and go exploring. Knowing this, Hebi smiled and looked for the opening he would need to tear off his chain and sneak away. Slowing his pace down, and putting his hand on his collar, Hebi was prepared for his getaway; all he needed now was a small distraction… Picking up a rock with his tail, Hebi launched it at a nearby roof in hopes that Saru and Renji’s attention would be drawn to the roof long enough for him to flee. 

Pop! 

Saru and Renji both looked in the direction of the nearby roof, and in so doing, they gave Hebi the chance he needed to disappear. Seeing this, Hebi smiled, ripped off his chain and jumped onto the roof opposite to the one he used as a diversion. “Suckers.” He snickered and ran to the now open Karukura Town gate.

With the last Soul Reaper finally making his way through the gate, Hebi leaped forward and vanished from the Seireitei.

“Whoa!!! This is more like it!” Hebi arrived in Karakura Town and took off towards what appeared to be the center of the city in hopes of finding something interesting, or fun to do. 

Running through the streets and weaving through ally ways, Hebi was taken back by all of the new and interesting sights and smells.

“Hebi?”

Hebi slowed to a halt and looked in the direction to which he heard his name called; guilt and fear grimacing his face. Did someone really just say my name, or am I hearing things? 

It didn’t take long for Hebi to see that there was an elegant women with lavender colored hair standing nearby. “Sode?” 

“Just what are you doing here?” 

Hebi cocked his head back, put his arm on the back of his head and nervously laughed, he knew he was caught. “Oh…well, you know; Saru decided to let me have the day to do what I want. You know her, it’s hard for her to keep up with me; you know, with that wide load of hers and all.”

She stared down at the young boy in amazement. Any time Sode crossed paths with him, he was always on a chain connected to Saru. The two were one...but just Hebi on his own was...odd. Furthermore neither Saru nor Renji were anywhere in sight and she could not sense them anywhere. 

“Saru decided to let me have the day to do what I want.”

One eyebrow lifted as the boy gave her an explanation that she did not at all believe. Not entirely at least. “Did she now?”

She could just imagine the look on Saru’s face when she realized where he was now. She highly doubted sneaking out to the world of the living was what they had in mind. 

Despite Hebi’s obvious mischievous behavior, Sode no Shirayuki could not help but smile. He was so full of energy and just as curious about the worlds around him as she was. She understood his desire to be here even if it was by sneaking.

“So with this new freedom you decided to slip out of the Seireitei and come all the way out here....”

She trailed off in her thoughts and briefly glanced behind her. She hoped Rukia wouldn’t worry about where it was she went off to and come looking for her. If she did and saw Hebi, she might decide to return to the Soul Society. Her lady had a great sense of duty which was most commendable. Sode no Shirayuki did not want to ruin Rukia’s reason for being here nor did she want to spoil things for the little snake. 

It was one of those moments where Sode felt torn. She had a loyalty to her lady to report back and follow her directions but she also felt loyalty for her kin. To turn him in would feel like a betrayal. 

“Oh what to do? You really shouldn’t be out here by yourself Hebi.” What if a hollow appeared? He wasn’t going to be able to fight it alone. He could get seriously injured if he wasn’t careful. “I don’t suppose you know the way to get back?”

My absence

I seriously do want to apologize for being gone for so long. It has been something that has weighed on my mind for a while. 

The reason for being gone for so long honestly comes down to my personal life picking up with school. I was going full time and it was occupying so much of my time. Then I moved states and that was always a nice addition of stress. 

Anyways, the longer time went on the easier it was to just...not be on tumblr period. But everything now has cleared and I have come to a point where I have missed being here so much. 

I don’t want anyone to think I just up and quit without saying anything. I feel like I have been so rude for not explaining this sooner and I don’t know if I can put it all into words. I take the friendships I make on here seriously. I know how much it hurts to see someone disappear and never come back without warning. I really do not want to do that to anyone.

Now so much time has passed and I am not sure who is still here and who has moved on since the last time I was on. 

I want to reestablish old connections and make new ones. 

I have a rp with Zabimaru to reply to and I want more. If anyone is interested, you can send me a message or even like this and I will send you one. I don’t plan on leaving anytime soon. And again, I am so sorry for being gone so long.

Freeze Snake!

When Sode no Shirayuki was offered a chance to go to the world of the living with her lady Rukia, she accepted it immediately. The excitement she was feeling within was barely contained, but she did her best to remain cool. The last time she had gone had been for but a brief moment and it was under completely different circumstances. 

Now she was going alongside lady Rukia for no other reason but to check in with Ichigo Kurosaki. Those two tended to correspond with each other on a regular basis. That aspect was not at all appealing to the ice zanpakuto, but seeing the buildings and the other odd things of the world was of great interest to her. It just never ceased to amaze her to see so many new things and experience them for herself. 

As she was walking alongside her master, her eyes flickered from one side to the other, taking in everything around her. If she were to describe it, she would say it was so busy. Not at all like the Soul Society. 

Then something odd caught her eye. She stopped walking; staring off to her side and down an alley. Looking back over to Rukia, she saw that her master was busy tapping something in on her phone. 

I will only be a minute. She thought, drifting away from her master and down the alley. She figured once she saw that there was nothing on the other side, she would return to Rukia and they would continue on their way. No such luck. 

Sode no Shirayuki got to the end of the alley which opened to another street and then she looked to her left. Her eyes widened in surprise. 

“Hebi?” She looked around expecting to see lieutenant Abarai and Saru, the other half of Zabimaru, but they were no where in sight. “Just what are you doing here?”

New Dance

Learning a new dance takes a certain amount of skill and coordination. It is challenging enough alone, but with a partner it requires a strict technique unlike any other. If she had allowed the dance to continue between herself and Rukia, would it end in disaster? To dance with Sode was to dance with death. She is the queen of ice and ice was not a friend to anyone. Its harsh temperament and nature could still a beating heart in seconds, it can numb a body and shut down the system in prolonged doses. No one could escape the cold chill, not ever her master.  Every day was a blessing for Sode. Her bond with Rukia was pure. Together they shaped the snow around them to make a sanctuary that no other would see. Here their desires and secrets were reflected to one another as if it was playing before them across the clear ice. The first dance brought pride and joy, but both master and spirit knew it was just the first step. More importantly, Sode no Shirayuki knew that a day would come when the need to push further on was going to come. She also knew what the cost could be. Her power was wild and Rukia could be caught in the crossfire. It was a danger, but to deny Rukia was impossible. Not because she was a zanpakuto, but because she couldn't hold her back. If Sode no Shirayuki could, she'd shelter Rukia from all possible harm. Her arms would encompass her master in a blanket of snow that was gentle to the touch but as sturdy as a shield to outsiders. However, if the ice spirit did this she would be hurting Rukia. Her master could never stay on the sidelines, she needed to show that she was not just a noble to be overlooked. She had a name and she was just like everyone else if the rest of the world could see. Her master had something to prove and blocking her path was something Shirayuki could never do. Besides, Sode no Shirayuki wanted to push further on for her own reasons. There was a certain amount of pride that came along with being a zanpakuto to a noble household. She too, wanted to be recognized and be proven useful. What other option did she have?  So a new dance commenced- one of focus and confidence. If anyone could tap into Shirayuki's hidden power, it was Rukia- the ice princess. She was nobility through and through with a heart so pure that it reached Shirayuki. They were love, they were ice and this dance was theirs.

In all seriousness though, I am in school and majoring in Accounting. This takes up most of my time and it is really a difficult subject to get through, but I'm really trying to focus cuz hey- this is my life we're talking about. Gotta have a way to survive in life. >.<So there will be disappearances on here and reappearances. I'm not leaving. I guarantee you, for as long as I am roleplaying, I will always have this. Shirayuki will be with me until the end because she was my first and I worked hard on mastering her. <3So I do apologize for being slow and almost nonexistent at times. I'm still here I swear. xD
