Your boyfriend, Sungchan, had called you not too long ago, a routine you both had developed through the past months. He always called every morning to make sure how you were doing and to see if you were feeling well. He usually called when you were walking to work while he was making his way to the studio. He had insisted that it would make your mornings less boring, and he ended up being right. Those small calls sometimes ended being your favorite highlights of the day.

"How did you sleep last night? Had any sweet dreams?" You asked, walking towards your workplace. The walk wasn't very long, but you were glad you got to spend it speaking with your boyfriend instead of staring down at the bricks of the sidewalk.

"Yeah, I did, but I would've slept better with you by my side." His deep voice resonated through the phone.

"Ugh, please. Sungchan, you know you don't have to say all those cringy pick up lines to get me to like you, we're already together."

"Don't call me that," he whined, ignoring your statement. "I like it better when you call me baby, you know that." You laughed out loud, your breaths coming out as small crystallized clouds in the air.

"Of course, baby."

"And I'm serious, it's true! I'm used to falling asleep with you in my arms, so how am I supposed to sleep without cuddling you? And before you say anything, a pillow is nowhere near the same thing. Trust me, I've tried it." He said as you rolled your eyes.

"I can't believe I'm going out with such a dork. If you're free tonight, I'll come over and spend the night. How does that sound?" You suggested. An obnoxious cheer rang on the other side of the line. You didn't even want to imagine how ridiculous he must have looked to the people around him.

"I would be the happiest man alive. Make sure to bring those thingys you put on your face, they make my skin feel great."

"You mean, face masks?"

"Yes, exactly. Those."

"Okay," you chuckled, gripping your cellphone harder. The cold was draining out the sensation from your fingers. "I'll make sure to bring them."

"Perfect. I'm going to have to go now- my bus got here a little bit early. I'll call you later." He said, which made your steps come to a halt. Bus? Since when does your boyfriend take the bus to go to the studio? You had always imagined that he took the metro, it was way faster that way.

"Baby... you know the metro takes half the time the bus takes for you to get to the studio, right?"

"I know," He simply let out.

"Then why are you freezing your butt outside at a bus stop when you could be in the warmth of the metro right now?!" Sometimes, you didn't understand Sungchan's thought process.

"I wouldn't be able to call you, there's no service in the metro." No words left your mouth as he gave you an explanation. Your heart started pumping louder and faster, a pleasant heat dispersing itself through every part of your body. "I have to get in now, I'll talk to you later. Love you!" With that, the call came to an end. You still held the phone next to your ear, dazed from his revelation. Slowly putting your phone in your pocket, a wide smile appeared on your face.

Your cheeks ached for the whole day.
