Our Story. The idea of Pyramid Shades came about when a close friend of ours was relaxing under the beach umbrella at Hyams beach (Whitest sand in the world). Throughout the day all us swam and had fun in the sun whilst our friend snoozed 💤under the umbrella. By the end of the day, to our surprise, our friend was as red as a tomato 🍎! We were gobsmacked 😲to why she got the most sunburnt by being under the umbrella ALL DAY. That night after loathing ourselves, but mostly her in aloe vera 💦, we researched 🤓(googled) why this happened!? We came to a conclusion that the beach umbrella does not stop the often forgotten diffuse 🔆and reflected ↘️↗️ rays that bounce off clouds and surfaces such as sand and water. In addition to this, it is said that the umbrella is compared to wearing SPF 3-7 sunscreen. Crazy right! Why does the umbrella still even exist!? ⛱️☢️⠀ My brother and I wanted to do something about this, we wanted to make the best bloody sunshade one has to offer 🎁. Our goal was to create a modern day sunshade aimed to provide sun safety ✅ by offering coverage from 3/4 sides and treated fabric to allow UV rays to bounce rather than penetrate the fabric. It had, I mean HAD to be ✅easy to use. No more tricky clips, pins or those pop up tents that are impossible to pop down.
