Goodbye NYCďźPost 8 for Fashion in the Mediaďź
Time flies, itâs been two months living in NYC, lots of things happened, NYC is a very different city than Kent, I couldnât say which one is better, they are all my best memories, my time of youth. I believe one day when I go back to Beijing I will miss them, I will miss the people I met, the things I experienced. For now, I am prepared to go back to Kent to living in an easier way. And I will see you in NYC soon.  Â

UBM: Project Tradeshow & The Bromley Group (Study Tour Post 7)
Project MRKE was a cool place, lots of nice menâs brands, but I didnât talk to any of them, it was a really good chance to make a connection with those manufacturers, I feel little bit regret.Â
The Bromley Group is a PR company, I learned some useful information, they all good to know.Â

Iâm e-hooked on Fashion (Post 7 for Fashion in the Media)
1) Â Texture is a good app, it gathers all the fashion magazines on one app. Lots of people use it, but just for me, I prefer to read the traditional magazines, I can cut something out to collect those pages what I am interested in, that what app couldnât do so far.
2) Â Top 3 Fashion Apps
I checked the links you gave us, most of them are the very good app for womenâs fashion, but, for me as a man, I have some of my favorites fashion apps.
No 1: Grailed  (This is an idle Items resell apps, for menâs only, about 90% sellers are young men, they sell both new and used fashion items, and they buy this app also, itâs a good cycle. People could negotiate the selling price, you can offer price to the seller to get the best price. I really love this app, itâs not just for shopping, and I get lots of fun from using it.)
No 2: YOOX  (This is a discount shopping app for both men and women. You can easily find some designer brands with 50%--90%off for sale. but most of them are from the past seasons, not too new, so if you are only looking for some good quality clothing with good price, then YOOX is definitely what you need. )
No3: Farfetch  (This is a worldwide fashion app for all the people. You can easily look around all the famous shopping malls on this app, it has every new collection of every brand. It usually has two big sales a year, once in the summer, another in the winter, and if you want to wait until the last two weeks of the sale you are very possible to have another total 20% off which is great. And be prepared to pay for different prices for different sizes because it sells from all over the world. )

Cotton Inc. (Study Tour Post 5)
I wish I could visit this company because it looks interesting from Google Images, but for an emergency personal reason I missed it, I had no choice. Wondering does this place could be visited individually? If so, I would make time to go there for make up. Â

Playing the part (Post 6 for Fashion in the Media)
I would like to be the Director of Finance for our final project. I am Taurus, so since like I was born with the ability to manage money. I always have very clear plans for how much money I could spend on every single thing, I used to it. And I am also really good at saving money, I love shopping, I know what is the best time for shopping, I can always use less money to buy more valuable stuff. I like to play money, I could be qualified this position as Director of Finance for our team.Â

Happy Indie-pendence (Post 5 for Fashion in the Media)
Twelv is an indie magazine, I choose is because it has a very simple cover page from the appearance. And the contents are also good, there are mostly taking about fashion which is great because I donât like to see so many beauty information on a magazine like Vogue does.  The chief editor is Hissa Igarashi who has been working for Vogue Italia and Paris Vogue as a whole as a photographer. He began styling independently in 2007 and is currently based in New York and Tokyo. Twelvâs target readerâs age should be late twenty both men and women who interested in fashion and wants to find something new to wear or talk as a high modern lifestyle. It also has the online issue which is just $0.99/mouth, that is definitely good to have.  Â

Doneger and Korean Preview (Study Tour Post 4)
We went to Doneger Tuesday for a kind of lecture about how the company running, there was a lot of information, I couldn't remember most of them, but some of them are useful, are good to know.
Thursday we when to Korean fabric preview,  saw lots of new fabrics, there were mostly chemical fabrics. The Korean merchants were professional and friendly.Â
There were also some garments samples were made by those new fabrics, I think that was a very good way for demonstration. And they use ALL riri M6 zippers on those sample garments, thatâs so good, I like their attitude.

NYC Street Diary (Post 4 for Fashion in the Media)
The most interesting photos I took was from last Sundayâs NYC PRIDE event, that was my first time to see that in person, it was so cool. Â Â
For the street style snap, it was so hard to me, I was trying so hard to find some targets to take pictures, but I couldnât. I felt like I was a spy to doing that, and the qualities of the pictures were so bad, just like this
So, I fond some 2017 summer NYC street snap on Google, they are good to take a look. Hopefully, we donât have to do those such things in the later class. Â

The differences between American and global fashion media (Post 3 for Fashion in the Media)
This is American VOGUE.
This is Chinese BAZAAR.

For the print magazines, I think the most different thing is the cover page content. Americanâs likely to use simpler words as possible to make more people can understand because US is a huge immigrant country, English is the second language for lots of people. But for Chinese fashion magazines, you could see more words even sentences on the cover page because the Chinese publishers don't have to worry for the reader about their understanding, not too many foreigners will read Chinese version in Chine.  Â
About the ezine and blogs, I think they are almost the same thing no matter Americans and global because when people read something online they could easily translate to any languages they feel more comfortable to read.   Â

Museum at FIT and Met Museum (Study Tour Post 3)
Last Tuesday visited Museum at FIT, the topic was Force of Nature. It was a great collection, a lot of beautiful dresses inspired by insects, plants and even the universe. Love the black dress so much.
The Met Museum is one of the best in the US, it has plenty of rare treasure, it is a must-go place in NYC with highly recommendation. Rei Kawakuboâs exhibition will be there until September, she is more like an artist, not sure she is a good fashion designer or not, very personally speaking that I donât like her style, her cloth look weird to me, but, anyway, she is the most successful Japanese designer, she must have something different that we could learn from.   Â

What we wore in the Fifties(Post 1 for Fashion in the Media)
Talk about the 1950â˛s fashion is always excited. It was my personal favorite timeline of fashion, I can always find my inspirations from this decade, lovely and endless. The time just after the World War II, people could have more time to think about fashion, so lots of classic looks have been created during that decade.Â
This decade was also influenced by Diorâs new look a lot, like the wasp waist with full skirt, very high and thin waistline, A-line silhouettes, a lot of light fabrics, Polka Dot.  Pencil skirt and fur were becoming popular in the late 50â˛s.Â

Material Connexion(Study Tour Post 1)
OrganzaI went to Material Connexion last Thursday, it was a cool place. I saw lots of advanced materials, some of them were so attractive. Such as some of the fabrics made from metal, they are still light and soft, just look like organza, I have never seen them before. Â Â
Some of other metal products are very good source for accessories, or could maybe work for parts of garments somehow.Â
There are also some of the beautiful leathers that I love them so much, wish I could learn some leather product design in the future.Â
