Buster posey really is gods favorite…three World Series, the 2021 giants team winning over 100 games and the division with a lineup that overperformed to a degree never seen before, having raffy Devers traded to him his first year as gm for peanuts and the Red Sox not even bothering to shop him around even though a team probably could have outbid them….how does he always do this shit he cannot keep getting away with it!!!!!!

The team player stuff is such bullshit like okay. Sure breslow isn’t the one who signed Devers but the ownership group was and they have a major hand in big contracts like that. Why was Cora talking about bregman playing second and Devers playing third at the winter meetings when it was clear that was not a sane solution. Why did they not communicate possibly moving positions to Devers before signing bregman and making him feel he had more agency in the decision / was being more involved in it rather than just being told after? There’s a pretty good chance if you come in at the end of last season and are like hey we want to explore you at both corner infield positions so we have options going into free agency to add the best bats around you for protection can you practice some first this offseason, it go a lot smoother.

Instead they told him that they were committed to him at third, then said never mind you’re DHing which he found out by them signing another player despite trying to downplay it at first and say that if they signed him it wouldn’t jeapordize Devers playing third, then didn’t give him any reps at first base in spring training, then just when he got comfortable at DH asked him to start playing first. All of this because of self made issues by management with roster construction. If you’re asking someone to be a team player, you have to be a team played to them, too, and make then feel involved. And you can point to the money but committing that much money means some level of increased transparency in communication because that commitment went both ways
