Tangled Inside: A quarantine guide
Being a teenager is kinda weird, some of us are REALLY outgoing while other would rather stay inside, but in times like this, even the most reserved teenager would rather be outside than stuck at home for one more second. So, to help you cope with this tough times, here are some tips inspired by the queen of social distancing: Rapunzel.
In a kingdom faraway called Corona (no joke, this is her kingdom’s ACTUAL name), a girl that goes by the name Rapunzel, was kept in a tower for 18 years by a witch that later on, got back to her family with the help of Zachary Levi, but what can we learn from a kidnaped princess, you may ask? And the answer is: EVERYTHING!
Here are some activities to take your mind off of everything and just have a little but of fun while inside.
1. Chores
Even though this might not seem ideal, why not help a little bit a home? You’re parents would sure be happy about it, so why not sweep till the floor's all clean? Besides being a good way to keep corona away, cleaning can also help you clear your mind, you could also do the laundry and wash the dishes. I know, I know, not that fun, but hey, this is just number 1.
2. Read a book or maybe 2 or 3
Why not dive into another world and scape from this reality for a bit? That’s what you can do by reading a book and getting stuck into your own thoughts while reading. Maybe you can even go on an adventure or find your other half. ( For book recommendations, please check out out previous post: https://quarancation.tumblr.com/post/616947175169163264/take-a-break-and-grab-a-book )
3. Panting
It’s tough out there right now. That’s undeniable. Covid-19 is dramatically altering the structure of our everyday lives with orders of social distancing, curfews, quarantines, lockdowns, and more. It can feel easy to fall into despair. However, as vital as it is to act with vigorous responsibility for the good of everyone, and like we’re actually in the middle of a pandemic, it’s equally important to search out the silver linings for our own sanity and mental wellbeing. Hobbies can be a great choice, so what’s better then putting all your feelings out through a beautiful painting? Play around with colors and let all your thoughts out on paper, it may surprise you by how relieved you’ll feel after all the art you create based on your feelings and thoughts.
4. Learn/ Play an instrument
While panting may be good, maybe you’re up for something else, something more....melodically pleasing. This is where learning or playing an instruments comes in. Learning something new can be as fulfilling as playing something you already know, but in the end of the day, you’ll feel so relaxed and proud of your self. Now is the perfect time to try stuff you haven’t before, so why not pick up that forgotten guitar in the corner of your room and jam a little bit?
5. Knit
Ok, this may sound a little odd, but are you knitting? ( see what i did there?) Knitting can be so relaxing and cool, besides, by the end of all that relaxing work, you’ll have an amazing new piece of clothing to show off, maybe even give it as a gift to a loved one who’s living with you. Just try and canal all your bad and weird energies into something creative and good. Hey, look, just finished my scarf...too bad I live in a tropical country.
6. Cook
Hmmmm, what’s that smell? Oh, that’s right: our next tip. We’ve shown you a few hobbies to start this quarantine and why not cooking? From cakes to pasta, cooking can be a way to relieve some stress and you’ll end up having an amazing dish afterwards to enjoy. Try out some recipes, it doesn’t need to be complicated one’s, why not bake a pie or just make some brownies? Just be careful when using the stove!
7. Wonder when will my life begin
At this point, it’s inevitable wondering: when will my life begin? For now, all we can do is remain inside and take care of people that are considered to be im the group of risk. Try some of our tips and check our other posts for more ideas. Please remain inside and only leave your house in urgent cases, never forgetting your mask and hand sanitizer. Until next time, stay safe and healthy.

Its movie time!
In self-isolation time, movies are a way to get our heads out of the problems we are having, and have some fun! So, we’ve made a list with 5 different films to watch during quarantine!
Focus (2015)

Romantic crime comedy
• The first movie is about a PROFESSIONAL scammer that knows all the tricks to win a lot of money by cheating. The plot shows not only how he taught an inexperienced scammer, but also their romantic relationship. The thing about this movie, is that we never now if their telling the truth or not. It shocks us with the tricks and with the surprise revelations that are made throughout it. But, lets be honest, how could a movie with Will Smith and Margot Robbie be bad?
• You can watch it on Netflix
10 things I hate about you (1999)

Romantic comedy
• What better time to watch a classic? This movie is one of the best romantic comedies EVER! It is based on a Shakespeare’s play called “The Taming of the Shrew”, and it is full of references about Shakespeare’s life. The plot shows the story of two sisters. The younger one wants a boyfriend, but can’t have it until her bigger sister starts dating someone. The problem is that the older one, doesn’t have any interest in having a boyfriend. The story is beautiful, and has Heath Ledger playing one of the main characters. This way, we can enjoy an amazing movie while remembering this legendary actor!
• You can watch it on Netflix.
Charlie’s angels (sequence of movies)

Action comedy
• These movies are the best mixed of action, comedy and girl power! The plot basically shows how three women defended the world. The first two movies were played by the same actors and have more of a comedy in it. On the other hand, the most recent one has some of the best actresses of nowadays and have more action, than comedy. Even with some differences all three are awesome films to see with family and friends. Who doesn’t like to see strong and powerful women in power? Multiply that by three!
• You can watch it on Netflix
White house down (2013)

Political action thriller
• This movie is full of fights, bombs and political confusion! Truly all that a political action movie needs to have! The film is full of turnarounds, as we only know the full plan behind it at the very end. This movie is about an attack at the white house, showing how the president tried to survive and the conspiracy in the government. This is a thrilling and exciting movie, which makes us think and try to understand what actually is going on. And if it isn’t reason enough to watch it, the handsome Channing Tatum also plays the main character!
• You can watch it on Netflix.
Klaus (2019)

Animated Christmas adventure comedy
• So, you thought it was over? Couldn’t finish without a family movie. This one is one of the bests Christmas animation. It has a creative explanation for lots of Christmas tradition, showing a theory of how Christmas began. This way, it is not only fun for the kids, but for the adults too! This film brings the Christmas spirit back, even in April!
• You can watch it on Netflix.
Hopefully, you got an idea of how to relax during this quarantine! Stay tuned for more exciting articles!

Take a break and grab a book!
Quarantine is something new for nearly everyone, it’s obviously being hard to get used to this “new life”. Most teenagers and adults are studying and working from home, but it’s essential to balance our responsibilities with leisure moments. Call your friends and family, turn your TV on and watch a new series, take your shot in the kitchen and be a master chef for a day or read a book! And that is what we are talking about today, the healthy and non-technological (rare right?) way to spent your free time!
Do you know that reading its not just a pastime? It has benefits for you physical and mental health, besides helping with social relationships.
· Mental Stimulation: staying mentally stimulated can slow or even prevent the progress of Alzheimer’s and Dementia, since keeping your brain active and engaged prevents it from losing power;
· Stress Reduction: a good story can take you mind of the daily stress of your personal life, work… It’s always good to lay in bed with a book and a cup of tea in the end of the day, it’s relaxing for your mind and body;
· Memory: every time you read a book from any genres (even the ones from school!) you memorize characters, their personalities, backgrounds story, relationships etc. Amazingly enough, every new memory you create forges new synapses (brain pathways) and strengthens existing ones, which assists in short-term memory recall as well as stabilizing moods. How cool is that?
· Vocabulary: there is always a word (or many) we don’t know, and knowledge is never too much! Besides new words, reading improves you writing skills!
· Socializing: all characters are different, you are always reading different points of view and opinions! This helps you understand and be more comprehensive with other people thoughts.
And for the bookworms like me I have some suggestions of really good books! If you like romances, but definitely not the cliché ones with the perfect ending you’ll fall in love with Louisa Clark’s and Will Traynor’s story in Me Before You by Jojo Moyes. Is a touching and sad but loving story about a relationship with a big side problem, you’ll have to read it to find out what it is…
Looking for Alaska is brilliant novel by John Green that captures the perfect painful joy of living and loving. Miles Halter’s whole life has been one big non-event, until he meets Alaska Young, a gorgeous, clever and screwed up girl who drags him into her reckless world and steals his heart.
Gods, semi gods and their troubled relationship can make a pretty intense fantasy adventure novel. Percy Jackson is a book series about a young boy that founds out he is the son of Poseidon; he’s pulled into the world of the Greek gods he thought were just a myth. Rick Riordan bring the Greek culture to another level and it made me fall in love with it even more!
