Padmé is one of the only people Dashé truly depends on. Despite the fact that they didn’t, in all actuality, know each other all that long, Dashé deeply cares for Padmé and trusts her implicitly. She is, after all, one of the few people living who knows what it means to be the Queen of Naboo, and the weight that entails.

Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith | Mourners Attend Padme’s Funeral

Some basic things to know about Apailana:

She became queen at age 12, one of the youngest monarchs Naboo ever had, and succeeded Queen Neeyutnee

She was one of the chief mourners at Padmé’s funeral, by which time she had turned 13

She didn’t believe the official story that Padmé was killed by rogue Jedi, and maintains that Padmé still had faith in the Jedi in the last days of her life, which she knew because they were in constant contact. 

After the fall of the Republic, she welcomed fugitive Jedi who had escaped Order 66 and harbored them on Naboo, and eventually gave her consent to an uprising against the Imperial headquarters in Theed.

When Vader discovered that Apailana was indeed sheltering Jedi refugees, he ordered her execution, and the 501st Leigon of Stormtroopers attacked Theed and eventually, Apailana was fatally shot as she attempted to flee the palace. A puppet queen was set up in her place, and none of the Jedi she had tried to save survived.

She was 14 years old at the time of her death.
