Communing with nature. What are you doing out here?
[Thalia stifled a laugh at the action] Of course. I suppose it can be seen both ways. [she glanced around her] What are you doing out here?

[Tess tries to draw the bow back and turn towards whoever talked, but she just ends up dropping. Charlies chuckles under his breath at her, and she glares at him before turning to look at Thalia.] Not always. Sometimes it shows rather outstanding brain functionality.
Do you know that talking to yourself is the first sign of madness?

Charles "Charlie" William Phillips-Oswin III is Tess's familiar. He appeared when she was nine years old and had gotten lost in the woods behind her family's home. He led her home and has stuck by her side more often than not ever since. Whenever she takes him out in town, she puts a glamour over him to make him look more dog-like so people don't ask questions. Charlie despises when people pet him and tell him what a good dog he is. He bit a guy once and wasn't sorry in the slightest when the guy had to get stitches.

C: I thought you didn't like hunting? That's what you always tell Hayden, y'know.
T: I'm not hunting, Charlie. Now be quiet.

Tess glanced over at the girl, immediately noting that she was a witch. She wondered if she were the same witch that owned the store or just someone that worked there. Her eyebrows raised in interest about the candles, and she thought about buying some to light around the house. Hayden probably wouldn't mind since he usually didn't care what she did as long as it wasn't anything that would get herself killed.

"Against the vampires or the werewolves?" She asked in return, raising her chin slightly even as she looked down at the candles and picked another one up to sniff while looking straight at Jaime with raised eyebrows. "Also, it might be because the tourist witch doesn't wear jewelry." Tess used her free hand to tug down her sleeve of the hand wrapped around the candle to show the stark black ink of a tree with intricate roots and barren branches that was displayed on her wrist.

Candles, Spices, Auras, and Witchy Talks :: Tess and Jaime
Tess needed to get out of the house because her boredom was soon to overtake her. Even Christopher her familiar couldn't bring her out of it. Hayden had been gone for a while, probably hunting things like he normally did while out and about, so she decided to walk around town in order to get a grip on it all. The two Oswins - or rather, the Oswins in Mystic Falls - had been there for a while, but Tess had been holed up at the house due to her dislike of it.
That was how she came across the store Candles & Spices, walking around the town. It almost had a magnetic draw for her, so she didn't resist it, had been taught by her mother to never ignore the feeling of being drawn to something. When she walked in, it wasn't hard to tell that it was run by a witch, and Tess needed supplies anyways. So, she began to browse through the store and picked up a candle every now and then to take a whiff from it.

It's full of vampires, Hayden. There was one working at the coffee shop. I don't think there is any bright spot, unless you somehow can manage to hook me up, a random passerby witch, with the coven in town.
God. This town is so dreary.
It has its weak spots, and it has its bright spots. Do try to see the good in the town before you completely write it off and sulk.

It's almost worse than Montana.
