The character dynamics that are by far the most interesting to me right now are the ones that aren’t healthy in a way the audience is necessarily always meant to root for. S1 Louis/Lestat. Louis/Armand. Devil’s Minion (in theory). Ed/Izzy. Mark S./Mark Scout. I’m all for healthy relationships but I wanna analyze all the painful interesting messy ones.

Anyone wanna beta read some Severance fanfic? I have just the basics down of a little promo excerpt for my Irving/Milchick backstory that I wanna explore, where Milchick, unsevered, remembers all of their past relationships, and innie Irving doesn’t because he’s been reset, though parts of it still come through subconsciously. Just need some extra eyeballs on it real quick! Gonna be titled “Muscle Memory” and will eventually be rated M probably. It starts during the drowning Woe’s hollow then cuts back to Irving’s first orientation at Lumon 9 years ago. Premise from my original post below:

I think it would be super interesting if there was a past romance revealed between innie Irving and Milchick. One that Irving doesn’t remember from before the 3/9 years he knows he’s been working at Lumon but Milchick, an unsevered man, will never forget. Explains why Irving B is so strict with enforcing the no workplace relationship policy for himself—it was probably the first part of the religion he learned. He’s so eager to please Milchick but not Cobel who ranks higher. Standing and greeting when Milchick is in the room, the assumed trust fall. Milchick in S2 calling Irving a “tall glass of water” and looking at him when he says maybe he’ll buy one of them a drink in a bistro one day. The implications of Milchick telling Irving Bailiff his innie is his friend and firing him will be painful and maybe part of that isn’t a lie. The part when he has to admit Irving B isn’t coming back after the ORTBO. The willingness to giving Irving a funeral. Is it proof? No. Would it be fascinating? Absolutely. Do I think the red herring show could definitely be using Burt and Irving to hide this with all of us assuming there was a previous Burving relationship? 100%. It would be so interesting. Will I write the fic? Possibly.
