"An American Eagle ad with overtly racist undertones tells us that Sydney Sweeney's jeans are great because they're blue like her eyes. Meanwhile a modern-day holocaust happens on the other side of the globe, with images of emaciated babies delivered direct to our phones while our president sets 500 tons of emergency food aid on fire. And Trump signs an executive order making it legal to forcibly institutionalize, detain, imprison, intern, (choose your verb), anyone the regime determines is mentally ill"
- Leeja Miller "The Eugenics Of It All"
"We love to treat it like these are separate things... like there's identity politics and then there's economic politics. Like there's the economy and then there's culture, right? But from a standpoint of understanding anything about disability, anything about disability rights--First and foremost, anybody can become disabled. Anybody can be considered disabled. That's just a reality... In Gaza, bombs are dropped that [amputate] people's limbs. People's limbs are shot by riot police in the United States. People are becoming intentionally disabled. COVID-19, the way that ransacked communities despite the resources being there to prevent that. They can make you disabled."
- elliot sang again "Eugenics: So hot right now"

This is Thelockpickinglaywer and what I have for you today is something very interesting. As you can tell by the agonizing screams of the damned, I have recently left the mortal coil and, upon arriving at my destination, was informed that I did not qualify for residence. I was taken by an angel of the Lord to the mouth of Hell, and when the angel left, he closed this rather large red door and sealed it with a divine key. Although I’ve never seen this particular model of lock before, I’ve spent some time investigating the cylinder with this small shard of bone. By sticking it in the back of the keyway and slowly pulling it out, I can tell that this is a five-pin tumbler lock, that can easily be single-pin picked using this shed demon scale as a tensioner tool. Let’s try that right now. Alright, nothing on one. Nothing on two. Three is binding firmly, click out of that. Nothing on four. Five is binding, little click there, back to one. Once again, nothing. Two is binding, and we’ve dropped into a false set. Little click out of three. Nothing on four. Little click on one, counter-rotation on two, and we got this open. Okay folks, I think the main takeaway here is that no matter how much faith you place in a mechanism designed to ensure your safety, be it spiritual or physical, there is always a state in which it can fail. In any case, thank you for watching. Memento mori, and I’ll see you next time.

So, we had to re-post this because the above Facebook post is basically an actual conjuring spell, and as far as we can tell, it took from July 2020 to September 2021 to charge and cast.
This is an extremely powerful meme.
That video that was in the comments is a match for the band Second Life in Little Rock performing at Vino's on Sept. 3, 2021.
In their own Facebook post from the next morning, we see the band is dressed the same as it is there.
You have to assume that no one in the audience actually got that the whole thing was a bit, a reference to a meme. But they still responded appropriately.
Fucking legendary.

Al Jazeera journalist Anas al-Sharif has been killed alongside four colleagues in a targeted Israeli attack on a tent housing journalists in Gaza City.
Seven people were killed in the attack on the tent located outside the main gate of Gaza City’s al-Shifa Hospital late on Sunday evening. They include Al Jazeera correspondent Mohammed Qreiqeh and camera operators Ibrahim Zaher, Mohammed Noufal and Moamen Aliwa.
Shortly before being killed, al-Sharif, a well-known 28-year-old Al Jazeera Arabic correspondent who had reportedly extensively from northern Gaza, wrote on X that Israel had launched intense, concentrated bombardment – also known as “fire belts” – on the eastern and southern parts of Gaza City.
In his last video, the loud booms of Israel’s intensive missile bombing can be heard in the background as the dark sky is lit in a flash of orange light.
In a final message, written on April 6, to be published in the event of his death, al-Sharif said he “lived the pain in all its details” and “tasted grief and loss repeatedly”.
“Despite that, I never hesitated to convey the truth as it is, without distortion or misrepresentation, hoping that God would witness those who remained silent, those who accepted our killing, and those who suffocated our very breaths,” he said.
“Not even the mangled bodies of our children and women moved their hearts or stopped the massacre that our people have been subjected to for over a year and a half.”
The reporter also expressed sorrow for having had to leave his wife, Bayan, behind, and for not seeing his son, Salah, and daughter, Sham, grow up.
…
Since Israel launched its war on the enclave in October 2023, it has routinely accused Palestinian journalists in Gaza of being Hamas members as part of what rights groups say is an effort to discredit their reporting of Israeli abuses.
The Israeli military has killed more than 200 reporters and media workers since its bombardment began, including several Al Jazeera journalists and their relatives.
Yeah no, I'm sure the country using tiktok thirst traps to legitimize it's military has nothing nefarious to hide.

First recording stream.
Might Ain't Right: A Livestream + Podcast miniseries

We're collaborating with some folk at Ave Satanas Podcast (ASP) and Free Society Satanists to bring you a miniseries looking at Might Is Right — ur-text of Satanism and an infamous work of proto-fascism first published in 1896 by Arthur Desmond a.k.a. "Ragnar Redbeard".
To be clear: Might Is Right sucks, both as a book and ideology. It's full of doggerel, bigotry, and contradictions. But we're gonna talk about it, chapter-by-chapter, from the perspective of modern, anarchist Satanists who feel that racism, misogyny, antisemitism, and tyranny are "bad, actually".
Livestream to air 9 p.m Eastern / 6 p.m. Pacific this Friday Aug. 8 (0100 UTC Aug. 9), with podcasts released the following Friday, and new recordings taking place every two weeks: www.twitch.tv/queersatanic
Folk who have thoughts on MIR and want to weigh in are welcome to join us on Twitch.
Assuming we can make the technical stuff work, the idea is for us to talk this week about the background of Arthur Desmond and Might Is Right, and why a piece of shit book like that is even worth investigating almost 130 years later.
(Spoiler: Anton LaVey plagiarized it for The Satanic Bible.)
Since we're springing this on you suddenly, the chapter-by-chapter stuff won't start until Friday Aug. 22, giving people time to do their reading and weigh-in. The first one will prolly be messy, but also to do some open table-setting about why we are bothering with this project now.
We're using the mechanically impressive "Authoritative Edition" that Trevor Blake put together and published in 2019, harmonizing and annotating various versions, but nobody else ought to feel obligated to use that one rather than any of the free versions you can find floating around on the Web.
Frankly, if you follow along reading the 1910 edition published by “14 Words Press”, you are in some ways getting the more genuine and relevant version of this rancid fucking text, what it is all about, and it's cultural significance than Blake's version which falls all over itself in apologism.
This is not really a fun book to read, and if you haven't read it before, maybe it's not worth your while.
However, the fact that is bad actually helps to explain a lot of the stuff you see around you today, and the continuity of shit like incels and "anti-theist" antisemitism is also useful.

when I say “Let me ask my husband”, one (or both) of these things is taking place:
1. I am in a loving, happy relationship where we value and respect each other’s opinion
2. I am using this as an excuse to get out of something I don’t want to do (sorry habibi)
what is not happening here: I am being oppressed

I've just finished the first Murderbot book and it's very funny coming from Star Trek to this. In Star Trek you have androids and such actively campaigning for themselves to be considered full people with rights that deserve the same considerations as anyone else. Meanwhile in Murderbot all the humans are telling this guy that it's a person with rights and it's their friend and they like it and its response is basically
